Posting Pictures not working correctly 3/19/24

Today, for the first time, I have been unable to embed pictures in a post. The little boxes down on left have broken links and no way to insert. The little icon in the message header simply leaves a link in the message.

Perhaps a new H&N pellet design?

Maybe this is the new free form design where one cuts off a hunk of lead wire and jams it in the chamber and crosses toes and fingers and hopes it hits something? It's like Cracker Jacks — one in every box (tin).

    HW44 177cal 20 groups for 1/2MOA average

As title says, I shot 20 5-shot groups over 2 days bench rested. I shot my HW44 with H&N Baracuda FT 9.57 grain pellets at 7 yards in my basement. MOA at that distance is only .07” and the 20 group average was exactly .035”. I arrived at center to center distance by subtracting .157” from the...

    Not my best but…

Still sub moa. Average across 6 bulls is .046” center to center. Weihrauch HW44 177cal shooting H&N Baracuda FT 9.57 grain pellets. 5 shots per bull at 7 yards. MOA at 7 yards is .07”. I also documented the total spread of each group in millimeters. My reference shot for size of hole is 3.2mm or...

    H&N no foam insert?

I've received two different orders with three different H&N pellets from PA and none of the tins have the foam insert inside the tin that kept pellets from rattling around. Haven't seen any damage so far on the tins I opened, But was just wondering why they cut out this piece when it seemed to...

Brocock/BRK Brocock Atomic XR 22cal Pistol form

Shot my Atomic today using H&N Baracuda Hunter pellets which are nearly wadcutter shape. They do exceptionally well in my pistol at approx 700fps. My indoor range is only 7 yards, however shooting sub moa is quite a challenge even that close. MOA is only 0.07” and slight pellet discrepancies...

A little experiment using my HW44

Just to satisfy my curiosity, I decided to shoot 2 groups of 5 shots each for all the better quality 177 pellets I currently have in stock. I shot straight from the tin/box with no sorting, except the JSB Match S100 which were already all sorted. I then took the average of each pair and...

Shooting in basement with BRK Atomic pistol

Rainy today, so decided to shoot in basement. 7 yds and 5 shot groups with the Atomic in pistol form - 22 cal. Keep in mind that MOA is .07” at this distance.

    HW44 shooting FX10.3 grain pellets

Due to weather and wildfire smoke/haze I stayed in and shot my trusty HW44 pistol in the basement. I shoot at 7 yds so MOA is .07”. I shot 6 targets, 5 shots each with the FX 10.3 grainers just to see how they do compared to my favored H&N FT 9.57 grainers. I'd say quite well. That's 1/10th...

.437” average group size over 18 groups (60 shots)

Took my Maverick sniper 25 cal out to range this morning. I just had it gone over by dealer and fine tuned for the 33 grain JSBs at 50 yards. That's all it will be used for — 50 yd benchrest. I like the looks of it with the red furniture. So, I decided to shoot multiple bulls and average the...

    Average Group Size

I'm placing this in competitions even though it isn't meant to be. I thought I would start tracking average group size (center to center as would be typical) over a large number of targets. For me, that's either 6 bulls or 12 bulls since my HW44 mag holds 10 pellets and that divides out evenly...

    New Lungs for my RAW

Just had Tom at High Pressure Pneumatics install an Air Marksman 700cc tank on my HM1000x 25 cal. With all the air this rifles puffs down the tube, it needed a larger tank for higher shot count. I'm thinking it's almost unrecognizable now.

My new FX Impact 177 cal

Took the new Impact I bought for my birthday to the indoor range today to shoot as close to 25 yards as possible. I got 23 yards. The rifle is setup for JSB 13.43 redesigns at PL8 shooting 870fps and 10 grainers at PL 1 at 850. I also tried my trusty H&N Baracuda FT 9.57 pellets that do so well...

Going to pick up my new air rifle

Tom at High Pressure Pneumatics has been working on my new FX Impact 600mm barrel 177cal for over a month. Now I get to pick it up and try it this weekend at our Sportsman's Club indoor range. This is Tom in the picture.

Up until now I thought the RAW HM1000x was a great shooter

This 25 cal RAW I purchased late last summer has never shot great groups. I couldn't get it to group less than an inch at 50 yards and today I tried it at 22 yards with a couple different head sizes as well as slugs. It shot terrible. Below are a couple targets to show what I mean. If it can't...

A short pellet experiment with two pistols

I decided to try a little experiment using the JSB supposed match S100 wadcutters. I shot several mags from the HW44 and the groups were ho-hum. OK, but not what I am used to with this pistol. So I tried my Diana Airbug to see if the pellets are at fault. There was no conclusion because the...

Shooting teeny groups with my Weihrauch HW44

The past couple days I have been trying out various pellets in my HW44 177cal. I have confirmed in my mind that the H&N Baracuda FT 9.57 grain are truly great in this pistol. I shot the following target sheet over the last 2 days (50 shots each day). I limit myself for two reasons - my pistol...

Shooting my Maverick 25 cal indoors today

Shot my 25 cal Maverick indoors at 23 yds today just to be sure it is still doing it’s thing. I was shooting weight sorted and head size sorted JSB 34 grain pellets at approx 890fps. All the specs appear at each target. 5 shots per target. My wife was shooting her 22 cal Dreamline classic...

    My new Challenge Target

Compliments of @ThomasT , I've got a new personal challenge for basement winter fun. This is my first serious attempt at 6 yards with my HW44 177 cal. I'm shooting H&N Baracuda FT 9.57 gn (new line of pellets) which rumor has it were developed for the Luther Walther barrel and perhaps the...

    🥶 Baby It's Cold Outside 🥶

So there is no choice for me than to shoot indoors in my nice warm basement (63 degrees). Shooting the H&N Baracuda FT (the new ones). @ThomasT
