N/A What " One gun " to buy

Not sure if this is even a serious query to be honest. Like you said, not in so many words “$1,500+ pcp? Take my money. Piston gun? I might give $300 for the best gas ram in current production.” 🤣🤣🤣 Do you want help finding the right gun, or you just want to throw shade at break barrels?

N/A What " One gun " to buy

But like i already told you, i was completely satisfied with my R9 right out of the box. Putting 5 shots into less than 1 and 1/8” in a variable breeze at 50 yards, no break in period, less than 50 shots fired. I don’t think I have shot a group 1” or larger at 25 yards with any pellet. Not...

N/A What " One gun " to buy

Well, a PCP is little more than a tube of high pressure air with a valve and a trigger. When you realize the craftsmanship, engineering, and convenience built into a HW piston gun you begin to see the value. You have to tune your PCP’s, too, in order to get consistent POI across a longer shot...

N/A What " One gun " to buy

You can overcome the spring noise with a Vortek kit. A while back I remember Tom Gore was also working on what was called a “donut” gas ram that works with the stem of the piston in the HW95, but i don’t know what came of that. I refuse to alter my HW95 in any way. Another way to go is to...

    "No airguns allowed here"

Are you trolling? I don’t get it. I promise you haven’t figured me out. Good luck convincing the ranges to let you use your air rifles. I have been told by many, that they are not allowed due to ricochet. I have probably burned more ammo in a week than most will in a life time. But, keep...

    "No airguns allowed here"

A lot of indoor ranges don’t allow airguns because they often ricochet off the backstop or off of something in the backstop. They have a business to worry about, insurance, damages, fraud, etc. We live in a litigious society.

I think the Cometa 400 USC might be a better fit. The phoenix 400 cones in about a dozen different configurations and the USC is a sexy beast and available with a gas ram. Less than half the price of an HW90. Less than half the quality? I doubt it but I have been wrong before. Worth a shot...

    N/A Air rifle suggestions?

Flying dragon would be my first stop to check for an affordable, high performance air rifle. Yep that’s chinese stuff but Mike Melick is a true professional who knows how to get the most out of them. Other than that, you can start him off cheap on a Crosman Optimus or Vantage. The Vantage...

N/A Lubrication of the compression chamber without dieseling in the spring gun, yes of course.

I also did a de-bur and lube once on a .25 walther talon magnum, with a Maccari red seal and dental floss shim to the breech seal. Honed 200, then 400, cleaned and lubed strictly with white lithium grease. Zero tar, looking for max power. The power level went from an erratic 24-27 erratic fpe...

N/A Lubrication of the compression chamber without dieseling in the spring gun, yes of course.

I am not a tuner but i have done many a de bur and lube. The way i was taught is to hone 200 grit then 400 grit, and that’s so the moly paste has something to stick to. You never put it in the compression chamber, only a smear around the end of the piston and edge of the seal. And around the...

    N/A Airgun Idiocy

You missed my point completely. If anything that holds that pressure ever fails, it’s gonna become a grenade or a rocket. So more for you I guess. I won’t risk it. Not with the cheapest hunk of Chinesium I can get.

    N/A Airgun Idiocy

This is why I don’t trust a $300 Chi-com PCP repeater. All that pressure right beside your face, that vessel can take your head off.

HW/Weihrauch Spring piston guns, shooting tehcniques

I certainly will, I have wanted to go ever since I learned about HFT some 15-16 years ago. I don’t have a lot of time, I am a truck driver. I think some of these spring piston doubters should do the same.
