Congratulations to Paul Cray for his performance at the Finger Lakes GP!

Great job by Paul Cray this past weekend at the Finger Lakes field target Grand Prix event. This was a 2 day match with a total of 120 shots. Paul was 3 points down after day one, but kept his head in the game to come back on Sunday and win the event via shoot off. Paul's match high total was...

    25s at 100 in 30

Trying the Aea 50gr at 100y out of a Thomas. Been asked for a long time to make a 30 caliber gun for 100y. The JSB 30s were never anything to shout about. These are really easy to keep near the middle. 25 shots each. Mike

    Pssst....hey, I just shot a 750. Haha

Pssst...That's kind of the noise this makes with the suppressor. 91 fpe 22 cal slug gun. 750 47x You can see how much the poi went down when I added the suppressor in the bottom sighter on first card. The gun will shoot another 8-10x without it ...but for those that want to shoot in the...

Ever seen one of these before?

RMAC/PYA/NAC card 250 with a lot of xs. Thomas slug gun and new high bc slugs. Light wind topping out at no more than 5. This is the very first card I have shot at 100 (with these slugs). edit I shot a single 25 shot group yesterday in pretty heavy wind. The worst shot still broke the...

Just want to say congratulations to @BobS for being the first pellet shooter to score the elusive 750 3 card aggregate at a National 50 match! National 50 is in its 4th season now and lots of people have been trying very hard to make it happen. Bob puts in the time, and may be the most...

Testing new 22 caliber slug design

Yesterday, I began testing a new shape 22 caliber slug I made for my swage press. I've been shooting around 8-10k slugs per month for a very long time, and paying 20c each is not doable for me. Buying lead wire from Nielsen... I can swage slugs in between other processes in my shop at around...

Pellets and slugs from the same gun and barrel at 100

With the crazy wind here in spring...I spend mornings until maybe 11 testing what I need to test outside. This is the latest pellet/slug Thomas shooting 75 pellets on the top group and 100 slugs on the bottom group....no changes except scope clicks. Monsters at around 980 and my new .218...

25 shot groups at 100 with FX 25.4

Shot a little this morning in pretty nice conditions. Never held more than around 2" either side. New .875" barrel HPX using the FX redesigns from the tin. Was playing with the tuner looking for best vertical. 25 shot groups. The last group would be an easy 249 on the RMAC 100y...

    Grands at 50y

Shot 2 cards at 50y today with the grands at 930 fps. Wind was fairly light but unsettled. First card was a 250 19x. This one's a little better. I can't really say these are noticeably better in the wind than the 25.4 monsters. I did drop a partial tin of these on the floor and although...

Already working on the setup for the next Unlimited worlds event in Finland. These are the 2 very first cards shot with Thomas Slug gun and @Altaros 40gr atp king slugs at 890 fps. Very good first showing. I'm certain it will get better. 😀 Mike

One Piece vs Two Piece...the tale of the tape.

Shot 6 cards this morning with the intention of seeing how scores compare when using a one piece Randolph rest with sandbag top and a typical two piece setup with mechanical front using same top and a rear sand bag. The saving grace of winter in my part of Colorado is that the cold is often...

Wow...can't believe how much harder 50m is over 50y.

Well, not really...but those that embrace the metric system would really like you to believe it is. 😀 The Wrabf cards are a little harder, but I've been staying close enough to the middle that it's not very different over the N5O cards since the X is the same size. 749 53x Missed one. 🙁 Light...

Pretty nice 62 shot group in ugly wind at 50y.

This is 62 shots at 50y in a pretty rough fishtailing wind. I’m pretty blown away with the ability of this to cut through the crap with 39gr slugs. Mike

Great Shooting at AAFTA Field Target Nationals

The AAFTA Field Target Nationals took place last weekend under some damp and less than desirable conditions. Bill Rabbitt led the Hunter division both days and came away with the win and the High Overall score for the match of 112/120. Greg Sauve also led wire to wire in WFTF and racked up...
