Other Your recommendations for best "box store" springers....

dgeeseman has a point, but I'm just looking for casual input here, not trying to apply any sort of AQL sample plans to people's random observations. I do enough of that at work. I started the thread out of curiosity, partially because I had read where people were pleasantly surprised to find...

I've heard about the Prowler that Oddhawk mentioned a few times, so there must be something to it. Also, the gas ram guns neatly sidestep and the spring/spring guide/ etc issues, plus they feel and sound great. In medium cocking effort guns, I really like them. In the big ones, you do have...

I know that they make a B28 in .25, and that I'd like one. Inexpensive way to have a .25 "D350"...

HW/Weihrauch !If you bought a new hw97 walnut!

FYI - AoA is having a nice sale for Memorial Day, and the walnut Weihrauchs are included. The HW77k & HW95 were roughly $100 less than they were selling for a few weeks ago. Not trying to enable anybody or anything.... 😁

HW/Weihrauch Matching caliber to rifle, Weihrauch style...

So, I own an HW95 in all 3 calibers, and I feel that it's awfully good with all 3. I have done little so far with my .22 HW95 (just got it) but it seems like the 95 shoots all 3 equally well, as the velocity advantage of the .177 is equalled by the shot cycle & power advantage of the .22. That...

HW/Weihrauch Matching caliber to rifle, Weihrauch style...

Hi all Since my first exposure to the HW30, HW50 and HW95 trio, I've had an almost subliminal assumption that the most effective pairings of rifle & caliber would be: HW30/.177, HW55/.20 and HW95/.22 (not that I've adhered to that myself - 😁) But without at least having the use of all 9...

I haven't been inside the Blackhawk but it seems like a D34 clone. Never cared to look at it in that light, but I will next time it's out.

    Stoeger Stoeger X20 S2 - big question

I have Bryce. It's an older model and they have zero parts. Until whatevers in there (still?) finds its way out, I suppose it could happen again. But it seems like it has settled itself, so I'm good.

Just wondering if there are any models that stand out to the "cognisenti" here. I mean, there have to be a FEW, right? Stuff that people were pleasantly surprised by, especially over time. I started wondering after I bought a 2nd hand Ruger Blackhawk Elite in .177. I didn't pay a lot because...

HW/Weihrauch !If you bought a new hw97 walnut!

Thanks everyone. I am very lucky to own a 97k with such a spectacular stock. Thats not gonna happen to me again, I'm sure. You'll all have to forgive me for making this one a Safe Queen, or close to it. It will go from padded hard case to soft front bag, then back to the case.... 😁 And to...

HW/Weihrauch !If you bought a new hw97 walnut!

I posted this on another thread, but since you're specifically looking for these I'll post it again. This one is .177, and is beautifully quartersawn.

    Hatsan Been awhile...couldn't resist....

WeihrauchMan - if you like the punch of that 18 fpe .25 cal H95, you might love the Hatsan 125 in .25 - I have one bought maybe 3 years ago from Hatsan USA. Coil spring yes, quattro yes, moderator no. It's accurate and powerful. Here's an older video (not mine) showing what I mean: When I...

The Achilles Heel of the Diana 34

Thanks all. Moog, the grip tape is a good idea, and I'm glad you said it because I hadn't thought of it at all. Duh! 😆 If I don't find an appropriate pad, I'll likely go that route. If I do find a pad with potential, I'll try it on the scruffy D34 I bought yesterday. I was poking around...

The Achilles Heel of the Diana 34

Once again, I'm happy to have bought a D34, this one a .177 T01 from 2002, but.... Once again, I am frustrated with Diana's approach to buttpads for these rifles. Meaning, they don't have one. And most of you will know what a hassle it is trying to shoot a springer well when the butt keeps...

    Is it worth buying a hw97k if i already have a hw77k?

A little update: I mentioned that the old Japanese made Riton scope (an RT-S 5 Mod 2 4-16x50) came apart after just a few shots on the HW77k (it had also seen maybe 500 shots on a SIG ASP20) and was being returned under Riton's lifetime warranty.... They handled it very well IMO. They worked...

    Stoeger Stoeger X20 S2 - big question

I'll also say this - it makes up to 17fpe (.22) and with just a rough sight in was reliably accurate at 100 yards on a 6" steel plate, and probably would have been just as effective on a 3" plate. Maybe smaller. Trigger pales next to a good (Weihrauch, Diana) trigger but there was a good...

    Stoeger Stoeger X20 S2 - big question

I've seen it Oddhawk, and it's "worth a thousand words". But, I just put 50 or 60 rounds through it (what could go wrong....? 😁) without a hiccup. I'm just gonna cross my fingers for now and keep shooting it. It needs some breech seal maintenence but it's a surprisingly decent rifle, and...

    Stoeger Stoeger X20 S2 - big question

Not that smell Hold_Over. This is distinctive, and alien to normal springer shooting. And it only happens when there is a problem.
