I like Walnut but really like natural maple done in clear with good grain with a nice Satin or semi-gloss finish.. I did a RWS 48 stock with a darker green Rit dye, turned out pretty good.. If you set it down it the woods with green under growth it blends right in.
Prefer Walnut or Beech all laminate does is make a heavy gun heavier. I do like the look of them though just wouldn't want to haul around the extra pound or whatever it ads.
My Akela in .177 shoots right with my HW100 in .177 at 60 yds, my HW100 seems to be just a bit more consistent but could be because I don't shoot bull pups that well. I get about 90 consistent shots also after spring mod.
I have a Turkish Tomahawk tuned by John in Pa and its as accurate as any springer out there, easy nickel sized groups at 32-40 yds with 18 gr jsbs. Its a squirrel killing machine with a very nice walnut stock to boot.. trigger breaks under 2#
Anyone have a S510 Extra in .25 and know what size the breech seal is and possibly where to order one in the U.S. , not wanting a whole reseal kit. Can possibly get one at hardware if size is known. Thanks.
Definitely not any cheaper, premuim pellets are even getting to wear they are on par with rimfire cost . But I enjoy it more then powder burners so worth it.
Have the .25 and its very very accurate. Would like a thinner trimmer stock but can live with the way it is.. may trim it down in future myself. It is definitely worth the money and a bit more.
