Don't know what "cosmic" does but I use Minwax paste finishing wax & a bore mop. I Let it set for a few hours or overnight & then use a pull through with a dry patch to remove excess.

To me too, it sounds like you're not bleeding pressure from fill line before disconnecting! Bleed valve is black knob on right. Are you starting & stopping compressor under pressure? That's a quick way to ruin your YH.
