BSA BSA Sportsman HV ?

While shooting the BSA Sportsman HV last week the magazine rod fell out.

Any suggestions on how to reassemble?

I owned one of the BSA Sportsman HV back in the day. Have you removed the action from the stock yet? The cocking arm and mag rod are the most straight forward parts of the HV -

EDIT: IIRC, the is a tiny, tiny ball bearing involved with the mag rod - be very careful when dissasembling - also Mike Tiehen at TKO worked on mine has had some very good tips on the operation. The lever that releases the bolt lets parts slam together, causing the problem you are dealing with.
