First Shot Cold Barrel

First 5 shots ever!
I think that would be a cold barrel!
30 yards at night with a flash light.

Since I got into PCP’s, I’ve been adamant about first shot or cold shot consistency. That’s why I’m enamored with this topic. And that includes springers because I’ve struggled with my first cold shot with them at times. The video above was the last time I shot this gun so it was actually 48 hours cold. It’s definitely back to itself and gets my stamp of approval. M3 .25, 30gr slug, 510mm barrel, 68-69 yards. I hit the mouse in the butt but he was swinging and I tried to time him.

Very nice! Mice at 68yds ain't no easy shot
Thanks. But I’m very critical of my slug guns so I just keep testing and demanding more of them. That gun has been sitting for 24 hours now so I’m getting ready to 100 yard cold shot it before I go to bed. In the dark with NV to make it even more interesting. I will eventually find that builds limits.

I tried it with my .22 Maverick yesterday at 50y . The first 2 shots were 5/16" off center then the next 3 shots were closer to center on 3/4" dots . The Mav had set for about 3 weeks and I used JTS 25.4gr pellets. I did wait on the wind and shot in between gusts , far from perfect conditions . I wouldn't hesitate to grab it and use it for pesting.
