FX New FX DRS Classic, Pro, and "LIGHT" ?

These instructions leave a lot unanswered instructions. Such as how to degas the system to install a gauge on the plentum Or,change to another size plentum? For the newbie I would think that this should be included. Yes there will be UT videos but why not have them in the instruction manual? After all first thing the manual says is to determine what the regulator and hammer spring settings are. That means you got to know how to degas the plentum to install a gauge and don’t you need to degas the tank first? Nothing stated in the owners manual Except do not disassemble this rifle. Piss poor manual FX.

Proper tuning requires the know-how of what one adjustment does in relationto another and should be performed by a trained specialist.

Warnings• Never attempt to disassemble this rifle.• Never fire the rifle when it is empty of air or when air cylinder is removed.• Never point the rifle at anyone or allow anyone to point a rifle at you.• Treat every rifle as if it is loaded even if you know it is not loaded.• Always carry the rifle so that the direction of the muzzle is under control, even if you stumble.• Always be sure of your target and what lies behind it before firing your rifle.• Never leave a loaded rifle unattended.• Beware of targets that tend to cause ricochets.• It is recommended that eye protection is worn.• Always use caution when operating this rifle.• Learn and obey the laws in your location.• Be responsible in your use of this rifle.• Never fill the rifle with anything else other than regular air.• Never ever fire the rifle below set regulator pressure.• If equipped with a carbon-fiber air tank: inspect according to the instructions on the tank.• Never leave the rifle with ammunition in the bore/barrel.• Do not attempt to remove or disassemble the barrel system (separate manual).• Barrel runs thru a pressurized tube and faulty dismantling can cause seriousdamage.• Failure to obey these instructions could result in personal injury or damageto the gun!

7.5 Hammer-spring tension adjusterThe Hammer-spring tension might need adjustment if you need to tunethe power and accuracy.NOTE – The rifle must be un-cocked when you turn the adjuster.High spring tension gives more power but uses more air.NOTE – for best results the hammer tension needs to work in coordinatedeffort with the appropriate regulator pressure as described further insection 8.1.

I saw a recent IG post from Dubber that says he's been shooting the "Pro" without the stock for testing. With the UPGRADED CF air pressure tube, he's getting "15+" shots with 40 grain .22 caliber slugs (speed and FPE not stated). So, does this imply that with the stock non-upgraded air tube the shot count with 40 grain slugs won't be enough to complete an NRL-PRS stage? I haven't seen any estimates on MSRP for the upgraded CF tube or "match" trigger...

Check out the 1 piece moderator on it, that's the shortest rifle one i ever seen
It sure is!
The moderator is difficult to see, as its almost seamless!
I like that.
And short rifle it is!
I believe with its 500 mm barrel, and no moderator at all, the DRS has a 36 1/2" overall length!
Short, lightweight, and traditional , which I personally prefer as opposed to a bullpup design.

I am sure for taking the rifle down FX will tell users to not do this. Kind of the same way they did with the panthera.

Dubber is only getting 15 shots?!? That's awful for NRL22 if a match director has an extra stage with more shots.
15 shots?

FX says differently.

4,5 (.177) 66 shots with 10,3gr pellets at 920 fps

5,5 (.22) 60 shots with 15.89gr pellet at 915 fps

6,35 (.25) 45 shots with 25.4gr pellet at 880 fps

Im not sure what you mean?
What doesn't make sense? When the panthera first came out FX told people to not disassemble the rifle due to the pressure around the barrel system. I am sure they will say the same with the DRS. It is lawyer speak to make sure that if anyone hurts themselves that FX isn't liable

Read that carefully.....those are pellets. We were just talking about shooting 40 grain slugs. A 40 grain slug is going to take a hell of a lot more air than a 15.89 grain pellet in 22 caliber.

Not trying to argue or anything, just pointing things out.

I am sure FX will have a maximum regulator psi as well. And there are certain guns that you need to go above the stated max psi to reach speeds that UTube people are getting.

Well if you have taken a 40 grain slug, hell even a 30.? slug to a 500 mm DRS Classic, no wonder, that rifle will need significant modding to be able to handle that, prodominantly the big plenum 66 CC as i recall and then the Heavy liner, and even then with a " runway " that short i am not sure the REG can be dialed up high enough to really get things going.

Even if writing this, and realizing there are just 200 mm up to a 700 mm barrel.
I know in my 530 mm barrel Vulcan 3, i had to really crank that internal REG up to try and shoot 16 and 20 gr slugs in it, and it was a failure on accuracy that much i do remember but i cant recall the speeds i hit.
Also having no REG tuner for that i have no idea what pressures i was on CUZ it is a caveman rifle.

With my Maverick 700 mm i can easy get the 20 gr .177 slugs past 1000 FPS.

Exactly!
Why shoot a 40 grain slug, out of a rifle thats designed for a 15 grain pellet?
Especially at a NRL22 match!
Because FX is again marketing a rifle for competition to compete with 22LR precision rigs. The DRS Pro doesnt scream low fpe pellet design to me. Keep in mind the advertised FX shot count is with the biggest plenum and air cylinder and medium power settings. The short DRS has me drooling, but I like a 3 mag minimum shot count for walking around hunting. I hate to say it but I might have to pass on the DRS if I can only get 20 shots on it. And I pretty much only use Hades in 22Cal so I dont even need that much power.
