This is a VITAL thread

Got one this morning. Huntsman Regal in .20 at 32 yards with the new Zambezi slugs. The tail basically fluttered, but was pretty much DRT. Spine was severed, hit major vessels, lungs, possibly the liver. Exit wound was pretty pronounced compared to the entrance which was just a pinhole.

Another one goes down to a .20 Zambezi Slug. Huntsman Regal, 24ish fpe at 28 yards, yup, the ol’ Pecan Tree again. Right on the shoulder and out the rib-cage on the other side. Just dropped it! Pretty instant, saw it quiver for like 2 seconds and it was done. Got it on video and will stitch something together soon as I can.

I would ask the 177 shooters using a 10 grainer to try a JSB ultra shok with the head scored at 3 places- in gel the pellet expanded to almost .25 cal! Should be the ticket for vital shots
Will see if I can test these. The real question will always be their accuracy level my particular guns. Definitely awesome expansion.

Another one bites the dusta! Still running the .20 Zambezi Slugs. Gotta say: They’z wicked!

25 yard shot to vitals, it moved slightly forward as I pulled on the trigger, so shot came in low vitals. Yet, still! Ran 2 yards right, 2 yards left & it gave it up.

Complete pass through as noted on pics. These will need to be shelved and saved for field work only. Way too much energy for the backyard.

Two more for the vitals. The first one was another win for the Zambezi .20 Slug out of the Regal. This was a 28 yard shot to the vitals that hit high. I just re-zeroed the gun as I didn’t realize that it had been zeroed at 35 yards or so. Now it is spot on at 30. So, the squirrel was still breathing and required a follow up that I delivered point blank out of the HW30.

Second customer came in today. 27 yards out of the .177 HW30 Urban Pro, dishing out a mighty 5.5fpe. Lazer accurate! This was a chipmunk! 27 yards! 5.5fpe (did I mention that?)

I built a P15 slug gun back in 2017. Exotic internals, slug barrel, then the hours of testing and tuning. I found two slugs that worked. One slug on a straight slug tune and a completely different slug shot fantastic on a pellet tune. I got burned out with the gun so I just put it back on pellets for probably the last 3 years or so. Last squirrel season while hunting with Polymags the gun had a reg oring failure so I just put it away. Last week I finally tore the gun down and made the repair. I seized the opportunity to test a new pellet while I was dialing in my pellet settings. As I put the gun back in the safe I saw the extra mags for the gun in the door and noticed one was loaded with slugs so I weighed them. They were my pellet tune slugs. I thought, what are the chances this gun will still shoot these as good as pellets all these years later. Well it does and it came at a perfect time because I have a couple or had a couple critters gathering and headed straight to my house. First pic is a red shot at 70yards. Second is this zipmunk who has been zipping back and forth from my front porch. I went for the vitals on the munk but because he was quartering to me I had to place the bullet just behind it’s right ear at 30 yards.

Another one to round off the day. This one was at 25 yards with the 5,5fpe HW30 in .177, it loves H/Ns so I don’t argue with it! Shot at a squirrel with a polymag yesterday & tore it’s ear in half. I was aiming for the vitals, oops! Well, if it’s H/Ns it likes, that’s what I will buy it.

Chipmunks are small critters! And at 25 yards, this one is a testament to the accuracy of this gun & the efficacy of Vitals Shots.
