FX reveals the "Crown" and the Smooth Twist "X" barrel system!

I just saw this on Facebook. Looks pretty awesome. 

how do the new barrels change the twist rate?? hmmm

It's an FX Impact in rifle form right?

I didn't know FX made ST barrels in different twist rates. I can't recall ever seeing twist rates published for them. Could this be a new barrel design to replace the ST system?

I don't know how I would choose the correct twist rate for my application if I was given a choice (aside from trial and error). Hopefully they will offer some pointers for customers when they go on sale. LW barrels all seem to be the same twist rate in every caliber (unless someone special orders). 

Did they finally figure out that it would be cheaper to make the Smooth Twist part like an interchangeable shotgun choke?

It could be as simple as a quick change barrel? Since your changing the length and twist at the same time.

hmm mabe a take out choke for the twist or rotate the barrel?
​ or interchange a barrel. if twist is due to barrel change.. it will cost us 500 bucks to do it.

This could be cool if it doesn't have the issues of the Impact starting out. Interested to see a price and what the standard features are since a match trigger is optional. Also if they can get away from the thumbhole stock I would be interested.

It should be pretty simple to design an arrow shooter for this like the one from the Verminator. What do you say FX?

I wish it looked a bit different than the Royale......... Ya I get it Royale-Crown. Already hard to beat the Royale. FX truly is the innovator in the airgun world.

I'm still going to wait until the Impact gets things squared away before I will purchase one.

Are you sure you should not a have consulting position with the airgun companies??? Perhaps they could pay you with Super grade stocked airguns.

If you want one, I don't understand why do you bash it before it is even released?
I wonder if you have ever owned or shot an FX, or are all your comments based on second hand information?


I really wish they would not have come out with this, I am running out of money. LOL...
I really like the full shroud, I hate those moderators on the end of the barrel. 18 shot mag, very cool. May have to sell something.
It still will not sling well, unless you put your front attachment on the bottle, which I am not crazy about.

Thanks for the full pics! Looks shorter than the Royale which is nice. I wish they would have gone with a picatinny top rail instead of dovetail and also wish they made the mag's smaller so you don't need extra high scope rings on it. Otherwise a slick looking rifle. I too love pepper laminate.
