Info on FX Impact barrel help please.

Ok what I am needing to know is the thread pitch and size on a impact 25 barrel. When the factory shroud is taken off. The 22 and 25 are different. Need to know the size so I can have a fixed shroud and LDC made. Thanks to any one who can help.

Jason, all 3 of my barrels (.22 .25 and .30) have 1/2 UNF thread on them. (1/2 inch, 20 Threads per inch). I have a 1/2 UNF LDC and it fits all three barrels threaded ends.

My .22 looks like the one on the left. I just ordered the FX stackable pack, very high quality, weighs nothing and very quiet.

Wow sounds like there are a lot of different ones out there. Need to know the pitch and size for the one on left. I don't have any way to measure it thought some more me may know.

Mine has the extendable shroud wanting to change it out. Don't think the stackable will work with it.

Here are the picture of my .25 and .30 barrels. My .22 barre which has the same threaded end is back in AoA with gun now. Your barrel looks very deferent. Why is the barrel threaded so far in from the end?

I have no idea. Woundering if there are different length barrels or something. Hope some one has a idea on why they are different and the size and pitch on the other barrel. Thanks jack for posting your pic.

Both of my .25 and .30 barrels are the same length 600mm. The .22 barrel is shorter.

Jason, can you take a picture of the crown in the .25 barrel?

Here are the info from FX

Length 500 mm 4.5 (.177)
Length 500 mm 5.5 (.22)
Length 600 mm 6.35 (.25)
Length 600 mm 7.62 (.30)

The sleeve of your .25 barrel stick still in the shroud!!!
Normally is glue on the thread to hold the sleeve on place!

Your barrels end look like mine did. Does it look to you like there is a 'barrel in the barrel' ie two pieces?

Put thread lock on the threads then screw the shroud back on tight wait over night to cure---now it should unscrew from the shroud. I seen about 10+ like that, this procedure works every time.

Very interesting, Ernest I had it in my mind that the Smooth Twist was actually hammer forged into the barrel itself. Is the silver section on the end of the barrel separate from the barrel. If so, how does FX actually attach to Smooth Twist section onto the end of the barrel?

No, the silver part isn't separate.

I'm assuming it's easier to crimp the twist on a smaller OD barrel to get the lands heights just right. 1/2" 20 threads on the muzzel a sleeve is added.

zoom in on the 1st photo you will the crimp for the twist and it's impossible to do that on a 14mm OD.

I'm confused. Are you saying the smooth twist is actually a separate piece that is inserted and glued into the end of the main barrel and what is showing at the end of the barrel is the smooth twist piece?

No, the twist is on the main barrel, they machined it down to about 10mm then crimp, the sleeve covering it is separate that has the 1/2" 20 threads.
