Nice video, Joe. At first, I said to myself: "Joe is nuts" listing all these rifles. Then in the middle of the film, you showed the FWB 300 as the most accurated springer ever. I believe this is true. The others are accurate to, but not in the same sense. Recoiling springers have to be held and coddled in a certain way to get the best from them. I have several of these and have shot impressive groups with them, but not always.. The FWB (and in fairness, some other recoilless rifles like the Anschutz and Diana) can be shot ALL DAY LONG with the same results. Why do you think that the FWB 300 is the most widely used gun for benchrest?

Paul I honestly have no doubt its the most accurate spring rifle ever made . Possibly ever will be made ? With the emphasis on airgun makers being more power and material and labor cost I just can't see that it'll ever be topped .
There may be someone who might make a very limited production gun ala Whiscombe that may one day be as accurate . But mass produced ? I'd guess no

Hi Joe,

I enjoyed your presentation and was intrigued by the statement that parts are still available for Anschuetz 380 rifles. I was looking at buying an FWB 300S a few weeks ago, but missed the rifle. I do have a 'mint', i.e. I bought it in its original box as packed by Anschuetz, 380 Running Target rifle which is a delight to shoot with a 9x scope out to 25-30 yards. Now I have found a used 380 10M target rifle rated at '80%' by the vendor. As with all the older [and more complex] spring target rifles, such as a Diana 60 GISS system rifle for sale locally, I am careful about being certain about parts backup. Who does have parts for the Anschuetz 380 rifles?

In relation to accuracy I have a 'stock' HW 55 [barrel locking lever, adjustable butt plate and dioptre sights] which is very nearly as accurate as my Walther LG 90 and FWB 600 SSP rifles. The accuracy astounds me given it's just a simple break barrel with a leather piston seal!

Many thanks for your presentation,

Jim
