Pistols, Anyone?

I have a few pistols I enjoy. My favorite is an Airmax PCP I converted to .25 caliber. It is a fun pistol but really loud. Didn't want to add length as it already has a long barrel, so no LDC.


My .22 LD Pistol is super accurate and very versatile as it can run co2 carts or hpa.


This is a Mark II. 177 co2 that I recently rebuilt. Very fun but not as accurate as my other pistols.


I also have a Crosman 115 and 116 as well as a Gamo 85 and an old Marksman.

My favorite pistol is my hw45 in .177. That thing is a plinker's best friend. Quite accurate and powerful too.

Just back from airgunwerks from having a scope rail installed and a master match tune. It is shooting Air Arms 7.33gr just shy of 500fps

I recently bought a Daisy Avanti 747 pistol.
It will be used in local club competitions at 10 meters.

I have a Crosman 1322 that's just a lot of fun to shoot, and very accurate. Just picked up a Daisy 717 target pistol which is also very accurate but a bit on the heavy side.

This is my .22 Webley Alecto with the Sightmark Ultra Shot Reflex Sight. I've used it to dispatch chipmunks, mice and 2 crows. It works well but the grip is larger than I would like. I use 12.65gr H&N Baracuda Green Pellets. The average speed is 544fps for 8 ft/lbs of energy.

I love to shoot vintage CO2 pistols. Over the last couple of years at the NC Airgun show I was able to pick up a Crosman 600, Mark 1 & 2, and this year Smith & Wesson model 79G all with original boxes. I usually hand them off to Sue Smith (Airgun hobbyist Magazine) who does great work on resealing those old airguns. They make great plinking pistols.

How many fpe does your Airmax produce with .25 barrel? With standard .22 barrel mine has over 12 fpe. That thing must really pop.

My .25 makes about 24fpe.

Where did you get your .25 barrel and was it hard to attach?

I had a .25 Marauder barrel laying around that I used.

I cut it to length, then I turned down the breech end to fit the stock breech OD. Very easy job if you have a lathe.

Still work in progress, but I do love the Crosman 2240, even though it's pretty crappy of the box. But if you're into tuning, there's no other pistol that allows for customisation in more ways than you can imagine than the 2240, and that's what makes it a great pistol.

I have been giving the Benjamin Trail NP a hard look, but other hobbies keep me from giving it a try.

I just scored a Daisy 717 power line. Lovely to shoot. Also have a 1377, zoraki Alecto and a copy of a HW40. I like the single pump pneumatics as they are fun to shoot.

I agree with Jonnes. The 2240 is a great CO2 pistol. Besides being highly customizable it can be made very accurate and powerful for a CO2 pistol.

Thanks for info on .25 barrel for Airmax.

The affordable stock 2240 is fun to shoot even if you don't modify it. Like all CO2 pistols it must be roughly 50 degs F to get decent performance. I keep my cartridges in the house. I also have a Crosman CR357 that looks and feels like a real revolver. It too is great for plinking and the sight is better than the 2240.

My 2240s (4 pistols, 2 carbines at last count. Talk about an addiction.) all have steel breeches, which allows me to use scopes, adjustable open sights or red dots. The most accurate air pistol I own is a Mac 1 LD with 14" barrel and 1000 psi regulated hangy tank.

Bluefork Design trigger frame. Not cheap, but great trigger and loads of AR grips available.

Recently replaced the Hogue grip with another AR grip that's a bit more comfortable for my big hands.
