Hello,

we are currently launching the long-awaited airgun CNC turned lead Slugs in .25 caliber (6.35mm) and redesign a .22 caliber under the designation SMOOTH, as the grooves on the slugs were removed.

This new Altaros ATP SMOOTH .25 have huge BC 0.21 (0.215 )! This is double what most other slugs achieve in the same caliber.

New ATP SMOOTH .22 has a large ballistic coefficient BC of 0.18 from the original 0.15 for the G1 function. The weight and size remain almost the same as for the original ATP .22.

Yes it is 99,9% pure lead.

I currently have a new rifle scope that I love - ARKEN OPTICS SH4 6-24X50 GEN2 FFP MIL
But it has a 34mm tube and I don't have a new side-shot mount yet. Accuracy is the same or better as for our grooved ATP Slugs.

i will try to make some video just using zoom camera without scope cam.

Please post a video of them being tested. What twist and barrel manufacturer were they designed around? What are the exact dimensions of the slug (absolute largest point that will engage the lands/grooves)? This is a big factor for different barrel manufacturers. Lothar-Walther barrels are .248"/.254" with a 1:17.7 twist.

The slugs are GORGEOUS by the way

Just looked at these on the site and ordered some. Can't wait to try these out in my M3 and the Maverick. Have been shooting a boat tail slug which is definitely faster than the traditional slug. 
The weights are similar to what I shoot now so this will be a good comparison for me. These new slugs look great but I am also interested in how well the expand on impact. Regardless, I can't wait to try these out. Delivery time is between 1 to 3 weeks coming from overseas so once I have them I will post and give some numbers/results...

As time goes on we can also make a classic grooved shape for 6.35, but I almost certainly know that BC will be lower.

I will not publish the exact production times, but we do not produce them on a Swiss type of lathe and the times are longer than stated here. This is a specially designed and programmed lathe only for machining lead bullets/slugs .

When i have a time on the weekend, maybe I'll make a video. We will soon add a video of the result from LabRadar when measuring consistency and BC .

6.35mm is the exact dimension in the largest diameter of the slugs. We always give the largest dimensions, because it is the dimension that we measure and try to achieve.

The main testing is in M24 which have a standard airgun choked Lothar Walther barrel .

I have also tested a longer 14mm version of ATP SMOOTH slugs, which is still stable and has BC 0.237 at 230 m/s .

An Impact and most modern PCP's will shoot almost anything into one hole like that at 40 yards, so how about showing us some 100 yard target groups? And do you intend to make these in hollow points also to achieve some expansion on impact or are these just for target competition? You should sell these through some U.S. airgun dealers because with the price of shipping these are going to cost almost $.30 cents apiece...that is just way too much. Now is the time for one of the big pellet manufacturers to notice the fact that we will pay more for precision ammo and start making pellets to much tighter tolerances...like one or two thousandths weight difference per can. They could keep making them the way they are now with a disparity in the pellets' weights of 2-3 grains difference for people that don't care very much about precision or accuracy, and then sell the ones made to the higher standard as their "Premium Line" of pellets for those of us that are willing to pay more for it. Whoever gets this going first is going to make a ton of money and be head and shoulders above their competition! :) Just a thought...
