I’m pretty sure there are some deals to be had so let’s get to and post some links.

Hello , I wonder what's the problem with the JSB pellets production ; here in Belgium it's almost impossible to find some JSB pellets in the gunshops . They are out of stock everywhere . Even Krale , in Holland, is completely out of stock for several months now. Do you have the same problem in U.S. ? If I'm not mistaking they are produced in czech republic , not in Ukraine or Russia....

Anyone tried shooting slugs out of their .25 calibre Leshiy Classic?

Mine is shooting the JSB Kings beautifully at ~850 fps, but I’m a little tempted to try the lighter Zans at this setting.

A couple weeks ago I just had to take a step back from the two guns that have been consuming me. Not too long ago I sold an Impact that the buyer wanted tuned to shoot 33.95 grain pellets. I was shocked at how well and consistent they shot with the bonus of how hard they hit. Those pellets have been on my mind ever since but I just don’t own Impacts to shoot pellets. Enter my Priest. This gun has had multiple barrels and shot just about every kind of projectile since I bought it. Lately it’s just been a 25gr pellet gun. I decided it might be my .25 heavy pellet shooter. The CZ barrel did pretty well with them but it definitely preferred the original heavies. So I put a 600mm Superior on it and tensioned it with the mod. Over the years I’ve seen plenty about groups. Personally, 3-5 shots and I know what’s up but tonight I decided to torture myself with the anticipated drifter by shooting 10 shot groups at 75 yards. Once I found my zero, I went to work. Gun was set at 132b and shot 923-929fps. Biggest group out of 7 was .64” so I’m pretty pleased. Just figured I would post this because sometimes you don’t have to sell a good gun, just repurpose it.

Depending on wind,how much coffee or Budwiezer I drank lol I could shoot better or worse.
But I bought and built it for hunting. But now I'm afraid to scratch the dam thing with so much invested. So hear is the deal.

... do you feel confident that you can still hit the kill zone? I.e.- What is the most you would ever hold-off for wind and take a shot with any hope of hitting the mark?
I know this is an "it depends" type answer, but in general, what is the max distance(expressed in inches, or MOAs or mils or hash marks, etc...) that you believe you can still hit what you want to hit most of the time(at the farthest distance you shoot) when the wind is up?
Or what is the max wind speed?
What if the wind is strong, but relatively steady vs. moderate, but gusty?

I thought I’d give it a go around dawn considering that triple-digit heat hasn’t brought out many animals in the afternoon or evenings. Saw this tender looking cottontail through the window about 20 yards out, grabbed my Prod, loaded some Polymags, affixed an LDC, came outside just before it hit the brush line.

When I picked it up by its hind legs to skin it I noticed a brown bulge on its neck. At first I thought the pellet was lodged in its neck and because I was holding it upside down that blood was collecting beneath the skin. After a closer look, I noticed it elongating before my eyes. So I took my phone out of my pocket and as I was unlocking it a fat warble dropped to the ground. I examined it then burned it. Next I looked closely at the breathing and exit holes and noticed more movement beneath the skin. I noticed another warble attempting to exit. At this point I figured I did this little one a favor by taking her out. Unfortunately I didn’t skin or keep this one. No telling what other health issues she had as a result of hosting these larvae. Within the circle are two holes with a thin strip of skin and fur in between.

In this photo you can see a warble working its way out of the host rabbit’s neck. I don’t know how many were in there. I only waited around to see two before disposing of the carcass.


Below is a closeup of warble outside of the rabbit’s body.


I’m not trying to gross anyone out. Just something to be mindful of this time of year when dressing or skinning animals that you intend to eat. The crows waited for me to leave before dining. To be clear, a warble is the larva of the botfly. In other words - a type of maggot.

I love all my Weihrauch’s. Have or had almost every model they have produced over the past 40 years. My favorite if I had to pick would be the HW55. The 50 is basically the 55 without the build quality and locking lever. The 50 is also, arguably, one if not the most popular model (barrel cocker) still made. The 35 is more like the 55 in the “build quality” and “locking lever” department. It is heavier do to its larger receiver diameter and almost over built, hence “build quality” design. It has nearly an identical velocity and cocking effort. The 35 is a bit more expensive but really considering the upgrades, it seems to be the bargain of the Weihrauch lineup or any springer for that matter. For traditional lovers like me the 35’s stock configuration is more classic than the new 50 is. Don’t know what Weihrauch is thinking with their new stock designs. The 35 can also be had in a checkered Walnut model for very little more. Any newbies to this arena should give the 35 a good look. IMHO. Krale has the HW50 for around $285. $60 more gets the HW35 and another $60 gets the HW35E “Walnut”.

So this weekend / Sunday & Monday we bridged some troubled water, which at our age and the temperatures take a while.




Also got some shooting in today, messed a little around with the 16 grain Zan slugs, and got this as a best group at 90 M.
The shoot N C dot is 1/2 inch,,,,, and you can probably guess what shot was the #5 one.

I have this rifle zero'd at 35 yards.

First group is 20 rounds at 35
Second group is a full mag at 65 yards (the screen becomes fuzzy when fully zoomed in and im getting used to it)

Rifle gets about 180 usable shots per fill w/reg set at 90 bar.

This is one of the first few chicken targets I made…it may have been the first. This target is designed to be shot at 100 yards. The chicken's body is almost exactly 1 MOA. All 4 panels and the chicken spin independently, so you can tell where you hit when you miss the chicken. This target is able to handle .357 and up with 100% no damage. I won't be making anymore of these because they take about 6 hours + $50 in steel.

It's 1/4 inch steel plate. The chicken is actualy reinforced from head to toe over 1 inch thick so his head and tail will never bend.

This is an Air Arms HFT500. Averages 786 fps with JSB 7.87gr pellets. It is extremely accurate and holds air for just shy of forever. No box, manual or fill adapter (i'm keeping that for my other AA rifles). There is a small ding on the stock (see pics). Price is $1200 OBO shipped to the lower 48.
