It is so easy to forget how much fun springers are

When the weather gets nice after a long winter, I tend to move away from the springers I shoot nearly every day through the winter months, utilizing my indoor range, to focus on my pcps at longer and more challenging outdoors targets.

This weekend, I took a break from the pcps and first reached in the vault for an HW98 .20 cal. It shot the first 10 shots dead center into a half inch group at 20 yards. I proceeded to then shoot 40mm spinners all of the way out to 75 yards with no misses.

Springers can be so deadly and are so simple, I am afraid those that started with pcps and haven’t experienced quality tuned springers don’t realize what they are missing.

SOLD Upgraded gen 1 AEA terminator (.357) package, 1100 JSBs $800+ (price reduced)

I'm selling my gen 1 AEA terminator. Still have the original box and manual. Had to reduce price substantially, didn't realize how much less new ones were going for.

It has the upgraded rear cf bottle and the longer front air tube, but I also have the original shorter air tube for it, and the original metal rear tank. There is no valve on the metal rear tank, so you can't carry it filled as a spare.

It comes with the folding tactical stock that can be used in place of the rear tank at the expense of shot count. The gun also functions with no rear stock or tank on at all.

It has 3 of the metal magazines (10 shot), as well as some spare parts for them. Also some spare parts for the gun itself, including an extra valve pin. (The existing one is very new, probably around 100 shots on it)

It comes with 11 unopened tins of JSB 81 grain pellets, and another 30ish in an unfinished tin. That's a bit over 1100 rounds.

Also included is the tube clamp picatinny rail that allows a bipod to be used.

I had no luck getting this gun to cycle slugs, and I tried a few different ones, including some that weighed less than the pellets. You can single load them if you want but IMO it's not worth the trouble.

A while back I got tired of the bolt handle coming loose. I should've used thread tape but I used loctite. In my defense, I thought that part was metal, and could be warmed up later if needed. Well, I needed to when I replaced the sliding rod balancer. I used a torch on what I thought was a metal bolt handle and... turns out it was plastic. I was going to get an original to replace it but there are people who make aftermarket ones that are larger, and actually are metal, so I thought I'd give the buyer the option. I can either get an original replacement for it, or you the buyer can order one from someone else and I'll knock the price down a tad.

With max air capacity setup, you can get 3 full magazines. The first shots will be around 900 fps and the 30th around 800 fps. With no rear tank and using the short front tube, only around 1 magazine. With the long tube but no rear tank, about 2 mags.

Soft case included

The scope can be included if you want it. The scope is a 1-6×24 trueglow red/green lit reticle. No batteries included.

$1000 for everything except the scope and scope mount

$1125 for everything.

$800 for everything except the unopened tins of pellets and scope/mount

I'll split shipping cost in the US

Hit me up with any questions

Pellet corkscrewing

Hey Airgun family, I'm a long time member but just got another scope cam after years without one, and what have I discovered?? My FX MK2 impact .25 cal 600mm Slug A barrel cause not only my MK1 JSB pellets to spiral at 850-920 FPS (it may do it all the time don't know. But my JSB kings also spiral at between 825-920 FPS (that's the range of my power wheel max thru min with Regulator set at 115 bar and Valve spring at 4.1. Can I get some assistance please. I've already cleaned my barrel twice. Swapped out my Donny Moderator for a Huggett still no joy. CANT shoot at the house without one, any other suggestion? Group sizes at 50, 75, and 100 maintain 2 MOA or less. Know it will be better if i get the corkscrewing to go away.

Comments, observation, bore polishing and point to argue

Hello everyone,

I just want to make a couple of comments on an observation about “polishing the bore” on your gun. After reading a lot about the benefits of bore polishing I decided to order all the required materials and then polished the bore of my FX Crown. I actually did not see any “huge” change or improvement in the accuracy at first. However as I shot more and more pellets down the barrel I did notice that even though I still would get a “flyer” from time to time, the spread was decreasing significantly.

I have been shooting the 30 Yard Challenge here on this Forum for about 3 months now using the .177 cal FX Crown. The first photo (05/27/2022) shows one of my early cards and you can see how many 8's I had scored. The spacing between these rings is very small, so if you had been shooting at a squirrel at 30 yards, chances are that would have been a dead squirrel, OR you could have missed by just a hair. The point here is the size of the spread on an 8 to a 9 score. The next photo is a more recent card (06/18/2022) just prior to the bore polish and note the second shot in Section 11 and the first shot in Section 12 both are a 9 score. The difference here between being a 9 score and a 10 score is no more than the thickness of the printed line of the circle. I know that this can be a point for the argument whether or not is this a “flyer” or has my shooting skills improved from shooting 8's. I can tell you this, for the last month I have shot a ton of cards all in the 197 to 199 scores and a lot of 9's that were just barely a 9, in other words they were close to being an 8. The next photo ( 07/04/2022) a card with a score of 199 with 18 xx’s, this is after the bore polish. The four 9's on that card prevented a possible 200 score and again the point is the spread of a flyer is much smaller than before the bore polish and the overall accuracy has increased considerably. So the argument is, are the 9's “flyers” or shooter error? I believe in this case it is shooter error simply because of the 18 xx’s shot on this same card.

My final card with a score of 200 had 15 xx’s and no flyers and I am convinced that the bore polishing was a major contributing factor. Also lets face the truth, there is a certain degree/percentage of luck always involved. I know that not everyone requires the maximum accuracy and completely satisfied and enjoy their gun as is. We all love our air guns and all that they have to offer and that is why we spend so much time, money and effort on this hobby/sport. However I think it would be interesting to get a wide range of opinions on the above subject.

Have a great day,
ThomasT

Announcement from AOA regarding LCS Air Arms.

Considering the recent announcement by LCS Air Arms, we wanted to assure our many supporters, suppliers, dealers, and customers and provide some perspective on this matter.

Generally, we enjoyed selling LCS ’s line of airguns. However, we continue to experience commercially unacceptable delays from them in fulfillment of prepaid purchase orders. Recently, we informed LCS Air Arms of the Rattler™ airgun and announced our intent to offer this airgun line from Western Airguns. We also informed them we intended to continue selling LCS’s products. LCS did not agree with our decision. These issues, coupled with our desire to provide our customers and network with the most innovative airguns, as well as the best support and service, led us to decide to part with LCS Air Arms as one of our continuing suppliers. We will, with their cooperation, endeavor to fulfill any existing purchase orders and continue to service what we sell. While we were supplied by LCS we provided warranty service without fault. Going forward, we will continue to offer this same service if possible. However, without ongoing support from LCS, we will inevitably run into a problem with supply and will be unable to assist. Your manufacturer warranty is from LCS Air Arms, and we trust they will continue to provide warranty support through whatever means they choose. We will do our best to assist any customer if we are able to do so.

As you know, we are excited to offer the Western Rattler .357. When we first saw the rifle, we saw many design changes and innovative components. In our view, the Rattler .357 represents a new and innovative step forward in this type of airgun.

We are very sorry for any inconvenience this may bring to any customer or dealer. Those who know AOA know that we will continue to provide service and support to our loyal customers and dealers wherever possible.

SOLD HUBEN K1 .22 FOR SALE

Today I am selling a Huben K1 Version 2 in .22 caliber. This rifle was purchased four years ago from Airgun Heaven in the Netherlands and then it was sent to Kelly up in Minnesota to have a new updated regulator installed along with several other upgrades. It developed a slow leak a few years ago and has just been sitting in the closet ever since and I never got around to fixing it...otherwise it is in almost pristine condition. It has less half of one whole can of pellets through it. The User Manual, original regulator, fill probe, and o-rings are included, as well as an adaptor for the muzzle to allow installation of a moderator, an Atlas Bipod Rail, and of course the original hard case. This deal also includes 9 cans of JSB Jumbo Monster Redesigned 25.39gr, 8 cans of JSB Jumbo Beast 33.95gr, and 3 cans of various NSA slugs.

So if you ever wanted a Huben .22 and you are able to replace the oring causing the slow leak, this is the deal of a lifetime for you because I just want to broom it out as part of some "spring cleaning." My price for this .22 Huben and 20 cans of pellets is firm at $900.00, and includes free shipping via UPS anywhere in the CONUS. I will accept payment by PayPal Friends & Family or Walmart 2 Walmart Money Gram.
All the best, Chuck Peffley

No closer to a purchase

I’ve been researching compressors and determined that the Nomad isn’t worth my time - neither is a gun which requires one … narrowing the search to hand pump friendly Bullpup configuration (if there is such a thing) - looking at Flashpup - any recommendations or personal experience? I don’t need a tinkerers dream gun - just reliable and accurate in .22

Target shooting only...which rifle?

I've been contemplating PCP, but not sure I'm ready to invest in a tank and/or compressor on top of a gun
I only target shoot, and only with 22lr. But with 22lr being ~10 cents per round nowadays, I was thinking continuing target shooting but with an air gun (25 yards or 50 yards)
What would be a good air gun in the $200/$250 price range to have fun at the shooting range, as accurate as possible of course
What would be the best caliber? I've read several time that 0.177 was best for target shooting

Thanks

SOLD NIB Prophet (Reduced)

I bought this for a custom build. Too many irons in the fire and would like to move it on to someone that can put it to use. It’s unfired except for AoA’s functional check.

30 Cal Standard. Asking $950. Will throw in a brand new Alsafe 500cc bottle for $50

Remember this rifle can be changed to any caliber

Thank you

Penchetta Pen & Knife New Location, Cave Creek, AZ

We started in Cave Creek, AZ 15 yers ago, but there was little business in our small town, so we moved to Scottsdale for the last 10 years. Fortunately or unfortunately the population has boomed in Cave Creek and in the surrounding areas. So it was time to move back home. Now I'm only 10 minutes from the store. Life is good. Here are some pics of the new digs in Cave Creek, AZ. We are one of only three airgun dealers in the state that actually stock FX, Daystate, EDgun and others. So if you are ever in the area, stop by and check us out. We have the most eclectic collection of fine items for men. See you at EBR soon!

New rifle to pistol conversion EXCEEDS all hopes!

With many decades of using improbable airguns with great success in competitions by monkeying them to levels of performance many find unbelievable, now concentrating on Extreme Field Target competition and founding Extreme Pistol Field Target, I decided to repeat a rifle-to-pistol conversion of similar ilk to one I did in 2011 that has since accounted for 3 State and 3 National Champion titles. That pistol, converted from a 1960s vintage Crosman 187 Co2 rifle to regulated-bottle PCP pistol-

187 Titles.jpg

And although I already own three excellent .22 PCP pistols that are EFT worthy (an Ataman AP16, P-Rod, and Falcon FN19), each seems a little less than ideal for the demanding game in one (or more) way or another. That being so, or at least being what I imagine, after getting my butt kicked BADLY at the last TEXtreme Pistol FT match by a good buddy shooting a .22 Marauder he converted to pistol, I started pondering what I needed to extract revenge against Pablo.

It hadn't taken me but three or four shots through his rig to arrive at the epiphany that the pistolized Marauder is quite a formidable force to contend with🥵. The only air pistols I thought up to the task are a Thomas, and/or a Brocock Atomic XR. A Thomas being simply out of my financial reach🤑, much as I like my (three) Brocock Bantam rifles, the Atomic pistol is "uncomfortably" pricey.🥺

After a good bit more pondering about another buddy's .177 Thomas that shoots 13.43 grain JSB Monster pellets 800 FPS, it occurred to me that .22 might not be the only caliber for EPFT work🤔. Then it came to me that, unlike my .22 Bantams, my .177 Bantams accuracy had never impressed me😤 before OR after souping it up from 18 to 23 foot pounds.
Bantam.JPG

STOP THE PRESSES!

A quick examination of the potential victim confirmed it might be an excellent platform for butchery... Correction- conversion!

The work went well, the results are gratifying, and the pistol outshoots hell out of the rifle it used to be.:D

Ban pistol.jpg

In rifle form she struggled to average 1" c-t-c five-shot groups at 50 yards, but the .177 Bantam pistol consistently averages .75" or less. In fact, she's already posted a couple 3/4" ten-shot groups at 50.(y)

Though I'd already monkeyed the trigger down to a nice 10 ounce let-off, I felt that was holding her back from being all the EFT pistol she could be. So diving back into the trigger design I've become quote familiar with, I clipped another coil off the tiny sear and trigger-return springs. BINGO! Now takes just 2 ounces to reach the second stage, that breaks like glass at 4 ounces (total)!🤯

The original 480 cc carbon bottle extends about 3/4" beyond the muzzle of the barely-legal 14-7/8" barrel, so I ordered a 300 cc alloy bottle just the right length. Even so, virtue of the magical Slingshot firing system she did this- 13.43 JSB Monster, 225 BAR fill, 135 shot powerband😲= Low- 783, Hi- 813, ES- 30, SD- 6, Avg- 796 FPS/18.9 FP.

About 500 shots later my moly-lube treatment is slickening quite nicely. She's come up to 815 FPS average, the SD down to 3-4. Still exploring the shot count at the higher power level, I expect it to come down to "only" 125 shots per charge.🤣

If I ever get less than gale-force winds again I'll post photos of some groups. Stay tuned.

I HAPPY!

Pablo, be afraid. Be VERY afraid!😰
