WTS Brocock AtomicX in .25

I have a Brocock AtomicX in .25 purchased form Airguns of Arizona about 2-3 weeks ago (would have to check invoice). Comes with everything that came in the box and has probably 80ish rounds through it. I've been running it with a Donny FL can and it is absurdly quiet. Oddly, the 0db works better on the LCS than the FL, and this one is quieter with the FL than the 0db.

Asking $1200 shipped to your door with either can. Scope is a Trijicon TA31 (556 BDC Red chevron) and not included. I'd be willing to part with it for $1200 otherwise It's going back on my AR. I accept paypal or crypto

The many faces of a Rainstorm.

So I had a bunch of Rainstorms in the past from .22 to .357 probably a dozen of so but now I only have 5 left.

I absolutely love the platform, Rugged, reliable, powerful and plenty accurate for me.

As always I have to mess with my airguns and change them around a bit :)

So here are the many faces of my 5 remaining Rainstorms :

First up is the one that resembles a standard Rainstorm the most, but I still stripped the stock of the stain and re-finished on the bare wood.

this one is a .30 tuned by Will Piatt for 100 FPE.

DSCF3201.JPG

Next one up is a .25 that I had for about 3 years, never seen a tune and also never had a problem at all, shooting the Baracuda 31gr at 55 FPE

This one I set it into a Winchester stock

DSCF3205.JPG

Next is my .30 Mini-Carbine, cut barrel, shroud, airtube and shortened the LOP in the stock, 70 FPE

DSCF3202.JPG

This one is a .25 over 10 years old, tuned by Will Piatt for 60 FPE and shooting the 29.5gr Nielsen bullet real well.

I set this one in a folding 10/22 stock

DSCF3204.JPG

And for last my most beautiful Rainstorm, a .30 that never seen a tuner, all I did was clip the hammersping a bit and I'm gettin 85 FPE for 3 mags, sub MOA at 80 yards with the 44gr JSB, I had this gun for about 7 years with absolutely zero problems, even minimal.

This gun is set in a beautiful thumbhole stock.

So there you have it, the different faces of the same gun :)

And to finish a family portrait

Air Rifle Break in

My first introduction to the world of Air Rifles came in this morning via UPS. Opened it it up as soon as I walked in the door from work. I have to say I never thought I would ever buy an Air rifle in my life, but man I just got this one today and I literally shot 300+ pellets through her already. Right out of the box with just the fiber optic sights I was hitting targets with ease. I then mounted the scope that comes with it....That took a bit of time sighting in. After about 50 shots I got her dialed in tight. The 4x32 scope it came with is obviously a cheap scope, but I was surprised it held zero like a quality scope. Its advertised as AO but in reality it is not adjustable at all except for Vertical and windage. I will probably swap it with a better scope later on but seems to work great as of now. has an adjustable trigger but have not made any adjustments Im still waiting for a shipment of different pellets to feed her to see what she likes best. I have Couple questions considering the owners manual does not state this information.

1. Is there a break in period like any regular Firearm?
2. are you supposed to clean barrel prior to first use?
Like I stated above Manual does not have any information on a break in or clean before use.

Summer heat and keep on Shoot’n

Hello everyone,

Well it is that time of the year here in Deep East Texas where I am forced to move my Bench Rest inside the air conditioned shop to get away from the heat. It is 98f and climbing with a Feels Like temperature of 113f and Humidity of 55% and almost no wind. I am a Summer time person but at 81 years old I just cannot take a lot of this 100+ temp. I did shoot a bunch outside early this morning with the Crown but shut down early. The first photo is how I am set up with my Diana Bandit to shoot paper targets at 10-meters, second photo. Scored an 83 on the first target and with the A/C and a fan running I am ready for the rest of the Summer. I can shoot 10-meters all the way out to 75-yards with this setup.

What are you doing to cope with the Summer heat ?

Have a great day,
ThomasT

The new forum

I would just like to say that I was one of the first to post that I didn't like the change. Now after getting used to it I have changed my mind. It's pretty slick. Sometimes when you start getting a little older, you get afraid of changes. lol Anyway, put me down as one on the plus side.

HW77K or HW97K or ? Asking The Springer Guru's Opinion

I am looking at a springer for the collection.

I have done a ton of reading and narrowed the choice down to these 2 guns.

I am looking for " real world " experience and info between the 2. Looking for the little things that usually don't get mentioned, we all know they are really good guns as a general rule.

This will be in .177

If there is a better gun out there please don't be shy, i am open to higher end as well if the gun is worth the money....

My basic criteria:
Reliability
Accuracy ( no more than 40-50 yards )
Parts Availability if needed. ( Factory and Aftermarket )
I am a bit of a trigger snob, so a Better than average trigger
I am a Lefty, so some guns are out right out of the gate

Thanks in advance

Accurate and lethal combination

After mounting a red dot in my pellet pistol that is in charge of killing mice and scorpions in my warehouse and once I confirmed that my accuracy was much better than using the open sights, this morning I got to the idea of combining a red dot sight with a bubble level to avoid decanting when shooting with an air rifle.

Went to my Uragan. 22, took off the Vortex Scope and mounted a red dot and a bubble level:

With very few shots of zeroing, the Uragan was hitting were I want to.

This is an excelent option for not so long shots: rifle is much lighter, easy to sight and for night shots makes easier to have a quick target location.

Give it a try!

Western Airguns Rattler .357

Has anyone ordered this beast yet!?

Holy cow! The next real question is, will LCS follow-up with a .35 cal version of they're hammerless semi-auto (but with FULL-AUTO!)?
Which begs the question of why did "Western" not include such functionality?

The next evolution in AIR fire power. VERY COOL!

PCP for the Wife

I finally got the wife to shoot my PCP. I have a Uragan .25 with ws, Helix 6x24x50 scope and bipod. She loved shooting it and is now wanting to shoot more. So I have been thinking about getting her a gun (really my 2nd but sshhhhh!) that would be a bit lighter than the AGT. Here are some of the guns I have been considering:

* AGT Vixen in .22 - long barrel
* Brocock Atomix XR
* AirMaks Krait (as soon as it's available)
* RTI Prophet II
I would get the 2nd gun in .25 to keep the pellets the same although I don't have a problem with .22 - especially for small varmints. She will not shoot ant anything "alive" so it will be plinking and targets for her. On the other hand, I would like to use the gun for ratting and other varmints at closer range. I have the Uragan sighted in at 30 yards and can easily go out to 100 and hit what I'm aiming at, but close range stuff is a bit harder, so this 2nd gun will be more for that type action. I think all of the guns listed will be accurate, which is a quality that goes without saying. I'll be fooling with the configuration and adjustments, so that's important to me. She just wants to shoot! So the idea is light weight and quiet. Any suggestions or comments?

Thanks,
Paul
