Which springer do you wish would be manufactured again?

I know it’s not going to happen especially when the whole globe is messed up.
Easy for me I’ve only been in this game 3 yrs. Shortly after I got into Airgun’s, Walther discontinued the LGU-LGV’s. I believe I bought the last LGU Varmint.22 in Canada. I had paid for a LGU wood stock from another dealer but was refunded my money and ridiculed, but that’s another story.
I would love to see these guns return. Mine is an absolute pleasure to shoot. Have a Rowan trigger for it, waiting. 5F80F634-9FA6-42F6-88E3-0FD4F5914D30.jpeg845D10FD-1D6A-42FF-A016-445D17D8D8B5.jpeg This gun is factory, but so smooth. Feels comfortable. Tried Crosman’s in today, no go. The JSB’s were center ice. I don’t know why, but the bear trap on this gun is not as annoying as on the TX200’s. I can’t complain about the accuracy, it’s lethal. This baby was the second gun to be in my “squirrel gun hall of fame”.
I even e-mailed Walter gave them an order for both models in all cal.
What gun would you like to return?

opinion: best caliber for slugs?

I have a .25 crown mk2 and a .30 crown mk2 that I shoot pellets from and both have a 700mm barrel installed. I tried slugs in the .25 with fx hybrids but I didnt like the accuracy. I also didnt play with a tune because the .25 is shooting so good with the pellet tune I dont want to mess with it. I am thinking about getting another FX and start out tuning it and setting it up strictly for slugs. I am eye balling an impact and I will be getting the 700mm barrel but the 800mm slugger model is a strong contender. So what do you all think is the better caliber for a dedicated slug gun? It seems the .22 has the most options or at least has been given the most attention in working out designs and pushing the limits forward. So I am leaning towards .22 and want to hear peoples experiences with slugs of .22, .25 and .30 cal.

SOLD Like New Gold FX Impact MK2 30 Cal Sniper 700 w/lots and lots of extras! (excellent price)

After months of thought, I have decided to sell my FX Impact MK2 30 Cal Sniper 700. Rifle was purchased from SPAW April 2021. I had plans to set the rifle up for large grain slugs for Coyote hunting but never got around to it and I am tired of the rifle just sitting around. Also, I have too many 30 Calibers, one that also shoot slugs but the hybrids only. As you can see the rifle is in fantastic new condition and has hardly been used. Maybe 1000 rounds fired through it total. Rifle hold air forever. I am a motivated seller, so I am listing for a great price in this market. Please be aware that the rifle is NOT tuned and will need to be by the buyer. Comes fully loaded, the list of extras is long.

2 barrel liners, one 1/18 heavy and one 1/22 (both new)

FX carbon sleeve in 700 (unbonded)

2 Huma regulators (one extra high pressure in rifle) and one brand new in package that is medium pressure.

Sorted and unsorted JSB redesigned 25.39 thru my RAW HM1000X @ 100 yards

Cleaned the barrel then shot on the left target to season it some and find my 100 setting on my scope. Our range very seldom is calm and most of the time if you have 4 wind flags they will be going 4 different directions...SO..I shot for grouping and there was no wind hold to try and get a fair comparison. The stickers are 1 MOA . Targets numbered 1&2 are 10 shot group shot with head sized and weight sorted, the winds died down to about nothing so then I shot target 3 10 shot group which were right out of the tin unsorted, then the winds picked back up and group 4 was a 10 shot group head sized and weighed.Group 5 was a 5 shot group right out of the tin unsorted and group 6 was a 5 shot group head sized and weighted. I tried to shoot the group's consecutive after each other to try and get a fair comparison. It's a crude test but about all I can do at the range I shoot out...dead calm seldom happens here. I am still a firm believer in sorting for longer distances like 50 and above.Comments or input???

Lesson Learned

Well I recent just purchased 2 used edguns from here, a lelya 2 and a leshiy classic. Been shooting them a lot today and was ready to sell them both, could not get them to group less than an inch at 35yds, cleaned the barrels and still the same, then I decide to run them both over the chronny, found the problem, the leshiy was only shooting 750fps and the lelya only at 790-795ish, tuned them up to 890fps shooting jsb 18.13g and now they are laser beam same hole shooters. I assumed that the prior owners already had them set up to shoot good.. lesson learned 😀👍

NLA FX Maverick .25 Compact

The Maverick will come with the KOI, 3 mags, 2 speed loaders, and has the upgraded 480cc CF bottle. It will also come with all my chrony info. Will not come with the bipod, Saber Tactical bottle clamp, scope, rings, or the digital pressure gauge. $1300 shipped CONUS. PP FF. I will except MO from will known AGN members.

Getting a perspective on one's perspective vs expecting VALIDATION!

There have been so very many times on this forum that I've seen people post an opinion & seem to be SHOCKED when the majority of responses differ from what they expected to get. Many times the response of the OP (original poster) has been "that's it, I'm DONE with this forum! " It's obvious to me that those people were expecting to be VALIDATED (a condition brought on by ego). I, personally, am much more interested in finding if my way of thinking & perspective on a given matter might be flawed in some way & hopefully have room for growth & change. That's not to say I don't have an ego (I've spent 58 years of my life performing, for what that tells you!). In my mind it seems that SOME people think FORUMS (a place for open dialogue & a chance to "adjust" one's perspective) should be like some social media & ONLY reinforce that particular person's viewpoint. I'm really glad I see the discussions & info I get on AGN as an opportunity to adjust & expand the way I see or feel about things. Also glad I learned in life that just because I SEE or FEEL a certain way about an issue doesn't make it GOSPEL!!! It's OK to change your mind or opinion WITHOUT being offended by others not VALIDATING YOURS. That's called GROWTH!

XFT Phoenix, Slugs vs Rimfire vs Pellet scores

This is somewhat of a continuation of the discussion that started in this thread:

Felt like we (mostly myself) derailed that thread enough so I'm starting this one.

The summary is that Ghostranger169 was curious how his 100 yard slug groups on paper compare to results others are getting. I piped in and cross-referenced this thread, mostly about how slugs haven't been doing very well at 100 yard field target but I may have also slightly stirred the pot by saying slugs are not more accurate than high BC pellets, even out to 100 yards, at least in all the testing that I've done (45fpe and down):

Centercut commented that comparing slugs to pellets in XFT has limited utility (which I agree with) for a couple reasons, very few slug shooters show up for XFT, so the numbers are skewed. Furthermore, some of the handful of guys that are frequently at the top of the XFT leaderboards have chosen to stick with high BC pellets, for various reasons.

Centercut pointed out that the high scores in the PRS and NRL divisions of RMAC were from slugs shot at rimfire power levels, which seems to be the direction the high profile comps are going. Which is interesting, because Ben has been allowing actual rimfires to compete at XFT in Phoenix since November (there were a handful of unofficial test runs by rimfire prior to that if I remember correctly). So, that leaves us with some data to compare rimfire scores to pellet scores in Xtreme Field Target.

I'm working nights and mostly trying to keep myself occupied sufficiently to stay awake so did a little digging in past match reports to come up with the following numbers. The "score" colum is the highest rimfire and highest pellet score that month.

rf vs pell.jpg

The gist of all of this is essentially whether or not slugs are the absolute shiznit like the prevalent claim in the industry right now. Historically, pellets = airguns. But now we have slugs. So the comparison is obviously pellets versus slugs, which is a lot of apples and oranges.

My personal stance (backed by testing) is that: at an equal or similar fpe, a high BC pellet will shoot more accurately than a slug, at least out to 100 yards. But as fpe (and perhaps distance) increases, the slugs probably start to pull ahead. But by then we're talking rimfire power levels, and very nearly rimfire ballistics. More apples and oranges.

So I thought it would be interesting to look at competition results from actual rimfires, against some of the best long range pellet shooters (both guns and trigger pullers). And I'm fully aware that we're dealing with quite a few limitations. First of which is that I understand the PRS and NRL divisions of RMAC went out to 200 yards so this data can't really be extrapolated to that since it's all from a max of 100 yards. Second is that we've got lots more pellet shooters than rimfire shooters coming to XFT matches, so numbers are weighted/skewed in that regard (interestingly enough we actually have more rimfire shooters than slug shooters coming to XFT). The high scores from both pellet and rimfire classes are often from some of the best shooters I know (got Arzrover and Centercut and Nofilters and CactusPilot and Bluebaby? and others as frequent winners on the pellet side and Steve123 and Sturkis as frequent winners on the rimfire side-so both rimfires and pellets are being contested by very skilled shooters).

I'm not sure that I'm trying to extrapolate any conclusions from the information above, just thought it interesting and wanted to share.

Why you need you watch some old British guy tune his springer

I have a 257 Texan. I waited a year and a half to take it apart and treat the hammer system like they showed me how on my hw97, tx200. I felt dumb waiting so long. The hammer tension is no longer crap and the spread shrunk. I am looking at my new to me fx m3 and the first thing I am going to do is polish what I can on the trigger and find out how to remove and polish the hammer system. Polish is the word that is used but it is more like putting an edge on a blade. We can toss money at the latest whizzbang product, but it won't do more than 1ore2 thousand grit paper, stones compound and doing what you couldn't afford to pay someone else.

LEISHY 2 REPR STOPPED INDEXING

Hi All,
Had my L2 for about 4 months and only shot about 100 slugs through it and all of a sudden it has stopped indexing the magazine,
i have watched all the videos and done my research about the problem and i cant get it resolved, the gun is basicaly brand new and none of the indexing parts show any sign of wear, if i open/fold the gun and close it it will fire once and no more, But when i open/fold the gun as you open it you can see the mag shoot round and hear it click/jump ready for the next round to be fired, something is binding but i have tried for hours to see or find the problem any ideas ???,

Is Civility Dead?

Before I joined this forum, as required, I read the forum rules. Of those rules, rule number 1 stands out to me: "...The diversity of opinion and intelligent civil discourse is encouraged; by the same token: rude, lewd, vulgar, obscene, flaming, baiting, trolling, hateful, threatening, insulting, violent, or slanderous content will not be tolerated...".
I have agreed to abide by the forum rules, as I understand that without rules chaos is inevitable.
Being human, I am far from perfect. If ever you find my comments offensive or uncivil, feel free to point that out to me.
A recent thread I initiated provoked a few emotional and intense responses:https://www.airgunnation.com/threads/the-most-off-putting-ad-in-the-classifieds.1268961/
Rest assured, in all matters, I endeavor to treat others as I wish to be treated.

HW50s & Rowan Engineering

I just added a Rowan Engineering straight brass trigger and brass trigger guard to my HW50s. Overall it's a pretty straight forward job with only the one trigger pin needing to be removed from the trigger housing group. Looks great and I love the straight trigger. I'll fine tune the setting on the weekend.
