FX  Fx2000 fill issue

I am trying to fill an FX2000/tarantula. I have a scuba tank and it's flat empty on the gun side.

I have tried cocking , the quick blast of air and it's still just rushing out the barrel.

What else can I try?
-Put a pellet to block the transfer port?
-Block the end of the barrel with a plug ?
-lightly tap the action to get the valve to close ?

Umarex  Accuracy VS FPS consistency (Notos and Avenger)

Complaining about accuracy while insisting on shooting CPHP is inconsistent. There is no airgun that won't shoot better with another pellet. Cheap pellets are just not going to be the most accurate. I am not arguing your first Notos was OK, just suggesting you need to seriously look at other pellets if you are serious about accuracy.
I totally understand the shortfalls of CPHP. As I mentioned in this case, I tried multiple pellets (weight and manufacturer), with all having the same accuracy issues. If it had been just the CPHP that had issues, and other pellets were accurate, I would have just assumed it didn't like CPHP at all end up using something else. As for the why I even try for CPHP usage, I have my own "logic" for that. I'm not expecting CPHP to provide premium pellet result, but I am also not looking to shoot past 25 yards, and not at pests either. You don't seem me post brags about my grouping at 100 yards, because I haven't even tried it past 25 yard. For me, my airguns are for fun in the back yard. I can come home and shoot 100 rounds on a whim, which I can't do with powder burners (have to go to the range, ammo is expensive, etc.) I'm not pesting or precision target shooting most of the time. Its often just destroying a few soda cans for the enjoyment of it. My experience with the Avenger and CPHPs is as you said, I have other pellets that are more accurate in it. That said, I was able to find regulator and hammer settings that made it acceptable for me (usually within about the size of a quarter or so at 25 yard). It took a little experimenting to find where is seemed happiest (but I enjoyed the experimenting). Now I can shoot soda cans for fun, its accurate enough at my 25 yard range, and cost less than 1/4 of the more accurate pellets. If any starlings or house sparrows venture into my backyard, I use the better pellets for a more assured clean kill :). For cans, I'm happier burning through a few hundred CPHP at a time for simple fun.
I agree it could be the Crosman pellets that's causing poor accuracy. My Notos sure doesn't like them. Mine shoots the Jts 18.1 with good accuracy. It also could be a scope problem especially if it's not a A.O. scope
I'll have to see if the replacement likes CPHP at all (some people seem to claim theirs does). If I'm lucky, it will be okay with them at 25 yards. I'm pretty sure its not a scope problem. It is an A.O. scope (UTG Bugbuster 3-9X32), which has proved itself in working order on other airguns as well as powder burning .22s. My Avenger has the large 4-16X44 FFP Veyron because its already big and heavy and I pretty much only shoot it from stationary positions. With the notos being so much smaller and lighter, I wanted to go with a smaller simpler scope. As noted below, it was on the receiver, not the shroud part of the rail.

Thanks everyone!

What Compressor Are You Using Top Off At 300B?

The cs4 models will do it. Advantages of course are...
The Cs4 is fairly quite for a compressor
You can take it, and your tanks with you. Refill as you shoot.
And of course you can fill your guns directly if ever desired.

I ran a Yong Heng for a couple years, sure it was faster... but it's loud, needs support such as a water source, and you're not taking that thing with you anywhere.

If you go with GX order directly from them or Amazon. I do sell some open box and refurbished ones on Ebay.

It's mainly just to top the guns off i let my alkin auto shutoff at 310b on the scba tanks so when I want to top off the pcps that's all I'm really looking for.

N/A  Olympic Form

@BrazosbyNemo , Every time I pick up that book, Pistol Shooting the Olympic Disciplines, I find another thing that fascinates me. I wish I could have lived in an area where that sort of shooting was a "thing" when I was young. If I was truly serious I would have a Steyr Evo 10E and a SCATT training system. Combined they are still cheaper than a bass boat or an Unlimited Benchrest .22 with a one piece rest and scope. However, my AV/IZH 46M in my 9.3M basement range is more than enough of a challenge. Heck, in terms of rifle my CMP M853 is a challenge. When I get frustrated I get either my tuned FX Streamline or the tuned AA S200 and put a couple in the 10 ring just to make myself feel good - and deluded:)
That’s the sad part. Wishing you could live in an area that offered these types of shooting disciplines. I have shot my whole life, and though I kinda of knew it existed, I was not exposed to it. My daughter on the other hand happened to go to a HS that had a very good MCJROTC rifle team. She tried out and made the team. I got to experience this whole world of Olympic discipline of shooting sports. It’s out there and it’s big. Just flying under the radar. Unfortunately you need to live around where it’s offered and know it even exists in your area. Most all if not all is focused on young shooters in school. Hardly any opportunity for adults, though 10M pistol being the exception. Olympic/ISSF shooting sports (rifle & pistol) are such a pure and elegant realm of shooting but most are doing it on their own in the garage or basement and don’t have a local club option. Really sad.

Just bought a Akela

just FYI, I picked up one in .177 about a month ago. According to Rich, the .177’s are new, just not in boxes. I cut down the hammer spring and this thing is a tack driver. He is having a Black Friday sale on them. $169. Don’t pass this up if you are even considering one. You won’t be sorry. A $600 gun when they came out. If you don’t know about the spring shortening mod, or are afraid to try it, just order his tune kit. I put one in my Cayden, and it worked great. I am ordering one for the Akela as well. Mine likes Zan 13g slugs a lot, and is not really pellet picky.

FX  Thoughts on sleeving FX barrel liners

I've been contemplating the various methods of sleeving FX liners and since I have several liners, thought I'd just give it a try. I will say one thing, I can't imagine them shooting a whole lot better as they are pretty accurate, but I wanna experiment.

First, ...on the Crown, why not just add several more round liner supports on the barrel to use the shroud to stiffen it? That's what I did on my 700mm .25 liner and it shoot lights out. Easy fix.

Second, ... again on the Crown, why not cut cf tube to lengths that leave a space every .. say 12" on the barrel. Put the round barrel supports in those openings in the cf sleeves and glue the sleeves in place. That would certainly stiffen the liner and support it. No danger of getting it off center with ill fiiting cf tube with oversize round spacers 3d printed, no real stress, and it should work. That is my next test.

Pellet and Slug storage

That thing is loaded.

I have my stuff in a couple of the Kitchen cabinets, i am very careful not overloading them. ( .22 and .177 pellets )

O BTW 13 and 16 grain slugs i keep on the 20 PCS boxes they come in from Zan,,,,, on my living room floor, in season they come and go fast.
Yeah this cabinet is all plywood construction, and I glued the joints when I assembled it and added some screws through those joints. There are 12 screws through the plywood back panel holding it to the wall studs. The shelves are 3/4” plywood so they shouldn’t deflect.

Karma  Karma SLS standard Frankenstein gun

What company was that? So we know who to avoid buying from. Good thing you found an ammo it likes, but no returns possible on a $1400 gun that you don't seem enamored with really sucks.

I’m guessing it’s The Pellet Shop.

Umarex  benjimin gunner vs umarex zelos

and regardless of what I've seen in several places, Kral & Reximex are not the same company and do not share ownership.

-- Matt
Correct in that they are not.
They are however under the same ownership (Turkey, of course).
The original idea for the Reximex brand was to pull "upscale Kral" guns if i´ve been informed correctly. As to how they´ve succeeded, in all honesty a little to early to tell IMO.

The Gunnar indeed is the Reximex NYX. As a Reximex it does not carry the MSRP of the Gunnar, albeit not off by much.

For various reasons i´ve owned a number of Rex made guns myself (live in Europe) and especially the later designs IMO shows great promise of great things to come.
The NYX tho.. Really?
It´s built rather peculiar seeing todays market me thinks, there´s a number of features and lack thereof i simply do not get. Might be Benji specified them as such tho?
First thing´s first though. Adjusting reg pressure IMO is easy. Sure, to get to it you have to... yadda yadda, but in all honesty.. dunno about you guys but as i arrive on a given reg pressure that normally stands from thereon out until i want to try a new pill, performance level or whatever. In short i really do not see this as an issue. Adjusting reg pressure is something I at least don´t exactly do on the fly, don´t know about you guys.

However.
Seeing how childs play it was to handle, it just fails me why hammer spring pressure isn´t adjustable stock. I just do not get it, it is extremely simple to pull off, in essence you need a tap to install an allen stop screw and done deal.
OF COURSE this should have been done at the factory.
Next up, the thing - again IMO - sports a way to short barrel. Again seeing where the industry is moving after all. Atop that the barrel sports the most insane diffusor setup i´ve ever put my eyes on in person. Thing being that the diffusor adds so much length that although the barrel is rather short you sure as eff don´t notice with the rifle back together.
Knowing all to well what a diffusor´s supposed to perform.. just beyond me. Cause see, they use the same thing for the Meta and what not,.. and it´s just as out of place there too.

22.jpg

That the trigger is "match quality" is just plain false in turn. You CAN adjust it to become decent and then some but match trigger, as in match grade, nope. Not really. Usable for delicate work though, if adjusted, yes.
The actual trigger assy rides in a sub structure of its own and is bolted to the main block via a countersunk allen for each side. Issue there is that them holes are off vs what should be, handing that the entire trigger assy rocks back n forth where it sits.
IMO that´s just plain *rap and should have been handled before these puffs were let into market.

That diffusor in turn. As you crank down on it vs the barrel, and you of course should, well.. now the shroud tube is simply to long to fit. I had to cut a full 3 mills off to make that thing torq as intended.

Final say in turn, getting it to make power sans any hardcore modifications?
Here´s the bottom line, nope. No you will not. As is, adjusting what little there is, this thing will stonewall around like 50J and that´s it, in 25cal.

IF you however take to modifying the piece, different ballgame all together.

16.jpg

I took to handing it a completely different poppet on a 2mm dia shank, i handed it way stiffer HS and in turn made that adjustable. I handed it a ca 120cc plenum, ported the transfers and what not, and now we were getting somewhere.
In this guise we were getting into 3 figure power numbers (in Joules), yes even on the stock "to short" barrel.
For some reason the stock volume set for plenum keeps this piece down you won´t believe (it´s pityful small) and that gets kind of peculiar if you compare the piece to the Reximex Meta that sports a 90cc plenum right from the getgo.
Reasoning behind this? No idea. That being said, to get a NYX/Gunnar to haul you HAVE to hand it more plenum volume, period.

Ok. If so, then for the million dollar question, will it shoot?

7.jpg

Yes it will shoot. Flyer is on me. This done using 33.95 grain JSB´s why it´s safe to say that my findings have been quite different vs the Youtubers there. In fact, i for one at least have yet to take delivery of a Rex gun that will NOT shoot. Caveat to that is that all Rex guns, to my findings (and i´ve owned and still do quite a few) measure "large".
Ie; for a 22cal one go 218" flavor dia for decent results right off the bat.
Fact is, in contrast to him there i find the Factor to be absolute bottom of the bin stuff - and especially so seeing what they run.

My current go to on the rats time being is no doubt my Reximex Meta Premium.
Yep. Severely worked on that one too but OH does it ever deliver.

27.jpg

Here next to my M3. Both lovely guns and the Meta is actually setup to hand more power than the M3. Point then being that albeit a MP takes a bit of work to really shine.. it will, and then at the rate of rather specific half the cost of the M3.
To be kept in mind.
