N/A  Painting a PCP tank?

Hello all, bumped into this thread I was interested on the topic. Had the tank painted on an FX Royale in tiger stripe camo. not worried. My son painted it and masked of the writing. As far as a CF tank failure my guess is that they slowly leak vs “ blowing up “. When filling any gun new Or old I wear glasses, keep body parts away from the tank as much as possible. Does anyone here have actual experience with tank failure outside of a controlled test/ testing? Kinda like old shotguns with DAMASCUS barrels supposedly coming unwrapped or blowing up, heard about it but never seen any that were damaged or worn through. I’m very careful not to damage the tank , I won’t rest a rifle on the tank only the stock. Stay safe out there

Events  PRS Rimfire Nationals

I'm trying to find the actual rules now... But briefly I believe, for the airgun division it's top 3 or 5 from each Region get invites to Nationals.

Now... I was the only airgun in the Great Lakes region. For which my squad at the Regional finale took endless pleasure in reminding me to pick up my "participation trophy".

So I felt pretty good when I came in 9th overall out of 46 shooters :) I'm hoping to be in the top 50 at Nationals, but that might be a bit ambitious.

Huben  Anyone using the Huma GK1 regulator

I was having trouble with cycling when I first installed it. Started the reg set at 100 b it would cycle the striker would stick and it would just drain out lol.
So I run into a video by a guy in UK he managed to get his cycling real good at 125b set point on the reg. That's worked great with mine also. Dropped mine back down to 640fps all I need for the back yard.

The factory mag from Davis is value priced, try one (3 more?). If yu might ever want to change pellets once you remove receiver cover it IS worth milling the cover as someone above mentioned. They all like the Korean ammo best. They also like flat bottom slugs of the correct length and have the power to push them tho with the famous Korean Cliff power curve. Any pellet who's tip slides into the bottom of the next pellet is Not a good choice.

Nice collection.

What's this famous Korean Cliff power curve? These things are amazing. A crosman .22cal 14.3gr hollowpoint gives me over 1100fps. That normal or is this hopped up? Might should get some slugs. Would likely knock a squirrel right over.

Daisy  Daisy Powerline 7 series query

I would like to ask questions to someone who is very familiar with these Daisy air pistols.

As an old guy and an air gun Noob I recently stumbled across these Daisy 7 series Powerline side lever pistols. I've been messing around with a Beeman P17 and read extensively on this design and find it hard to believe that a $40 pistol in today's economy can work so well and is sort of fun to futz around with.

I have a refurbished 717 inbound from Ebay and am as "amped" about it than I am the Notos one of my young friends thought I needed and I really really like. Then I discover that the 747 and 777 have Lothar Walthar barrels. Come On! How come the only US 10m shooter that has been competitive in the last 50 yrs that I see on Wiki, Don Nygord, is well known among the Daisy 7 series crowd? This fascinates me.

After the recent Hulla Ba Loo at the Olympics about the "Cyborg" Korean lady shooter and the "casual jeans wearing" Turkish shooter I am fascinated with this 10m business. Then I go to Champions Choice and see that every popular right handed target pistol is out of stock!

I don't want or need a $2K 10m pistol. But I am not above picking up a couple of old 10m training pistols that others have held in high regard. I looked for 46Ms too, because in my PB years I had a love affair with some Russian made rifles and pistols. But finding or affording a 46M today is another thing at my age. And would I even like it?

Anyway, I am more interested in these Daisy pistols and would like to know the folks on AGN who are knowledgeable about them.

Thanks.

There is a little finger and plate under the top cover that can be adjusted for different length pellets. It sits just about where it says 5.5 on the side of it. You’ll need to remove the top cover to access it though.
What's the trick to removing the top cover? Anyone doing it on video?
I did order some long looking pellets, Korean made, that I hope will work. Maybe get really lucky on length.

If you cycle the action you'll see that theres an adjuster on the shuttle that feeds the pellets. Loosen this screw and then adjust the pellet stops position so that your chosen pellet sits flush against the pellet shuttle when fully inserted (no more no less) Then tighten the screw.

As mentioned in the above message the Career 707 must be adjusted for specific length pellets otherwise it won't cycle the pellets.

My original magazines are all black plastic.
I don't see the adjuster. Have to have gun apart? Never took one of these apart despite having 3 of them. It isn't apparent as how to seperate it. Here's a pic looking in with magazine removed. That's a Crosman premier (domed) hollow point. It falls in at least 1/4 inch too deep. I see why the next pellet was hanging up with its nose pushed in there.

UPS - no firearms shipping policy

Seemed not long ago ups thought there law enforcement .

Read the article and you will see that the UPS policy was directed at a ghost gun manufacturer not a legitimate FFL broker/retailer.

FX  FX Impact M4 - Velocity consistency?

Today (10-17) was colder than the 11th with wind at the muzzle from 8 o'clock . Plenum pressure had come up to where it was on the 11th and the 1st stage pressure was at setpoint.

I reviewed the first shot target data from the 11th and lowered my holdover a bit. Adjusted my windage hold a bit left knowing a wind at the muzzle from 8 o'clock will cause a diabolo leaving from a righthand twist barrel to jump up and to the right. Took the shot. And the very first shot of the day impacted just below center of the 2" tip to tip diamond at 100 yards.

Lesson learned - an air rifle is a dynamic tool that you can adjust to just as easily as you can adjust to wind conditions.

First shot plenum pressure data will now be part of my dope sheet.
