UPS - no firearms shipping policy

There are a whole lot of other shipping routes. Lots of private carriers are networked to ship freight.

Some ship to and from private individuals. Some ship between warehouses. If you are willing to pick up and deliver from a shipping hub you can ship about anything you want. If you are willing to pay for doorstep delivery some freight outfits can do that too.

Many FedEx shipments are delivered by private carrier. They are subcontracting delivery like UPS is subcontracting the customer counters. Freight companies subcontract these same services to get it from the shipping dock to your door.

I shipped hand made furniture with a trucking company and it cost very little. The buyer had to arrange transportation from the dock. It was less then than I pay now to ship a Hatsan back.

Ill bet there are shipping networks already in place that can handle airguns with no problem at all.

I dont trust you. (When buying in classified)

Why did he even bother contacting you if he had no intentions of sending the money? LOL
This, your selling, your rules. I've sold plenty on Exhange boards over the years, never got burnt. Apply the rule "If it seems too good to be true" and you will be fine.

Put your rules in the post and if they give you grief, move to the next one.

N/A  Switching to PCP

So, I've decided to switch from break barrel to PCP. long story short, I bought a break barrel (double ordered on accident actually) and i've had nothing but problems with it...
break barrels seem to be too inconsistent and too finicky for me... I'm impatient. I don't want to spend an hour trying to zero in a scope because I have to use a specific rest (sand bags) and use an artillery grip and have to hold the gun the exact same way every time you shoot it so that it shoots consistent... and then the barrel might have play in it so when you break the barrel it might not come back to the *exact* same spot so your shot placement will be off etc etc....

nah... thats too much unnecessary crap for me... I've spent 2 weeks trying to sight in this stupid gamo swarm break barrel and I'm getting sick of it. im wanting to just throw it in the garbage if im being honest. (and not only that it kills my arms after cocking it about 20-30 times.) I'd prefer something a bit easier to shoot with a bit more consistency and accuracy. (plus I'd like to use a rail mounted bi-pod or possibly a clamped tri-pod since i plan on hunting with it).

Initially the only reason i went with break barrel is cause im left handed and i couldnt find many left handed or ambidextrous PCPs. That being said, i recently saw that the Benjamin Armada (Linked here) has a reversible bolt for us south paws and is regulated. I've always heard good things about benjamin n(typically the maurader, but the armada has a under barrel rail and I dont see one on the maurader). BUT I've read some pretty negative reviews about the cartridge and how cheaply made they are... I'd LIKE to keep the price under $800 USD if anyone could recommend a GOOD ambedextrous PCP. Rememeber I'm wanting undermounted bipod and left handed/ambedextrous. semi auto or bolt action is fine. Would also like it to be regulated.

TIA.
??? $800 total or extra $$for an air source ?

IF we knew what area he is in ,maybe someone could take a few guns over to let him try ? or invite to their house /range

FWB  Help me decide - FWB 300 or 300s Junior

Thank you Mike!

The next question is... can I keep them both?

The good news is that I'll be able to try them over time, to see if I have any preference, etc.
The 300 sure looks like it will ride a bag rest securely! and that's mostly what I do.

Trying to find a nice lightweight 12x now, for the rifles to share. Possibly shoot them outdoors this weekend.
Check out the SWFA SS 12x, it’s a solid scope.

N/A  Painting a PCP tank?

I'm happy with being able to see the CF via the clear coat. I don't want to hide the CF, I want to see it. I had an old survival suit that I cut up, the arm made a very nice bottle cover for my 4.5 liter CF bottle. It can grow with the bottle, and gives it a nice layer of protection. A leg section would likely work for a 9 liter, that's up next for me, once the toy fund recovers a little. The toy fund may require replenishment via sale of a PB or two, Too many of them, not enough air guns.

RWS  Did I damage my gun.

None of my hatsans can just be decocked . It's dry fire or shoot a pellet.

I'm sorry I mentioned the Hatsan. I forgot that it affected you.

Whenever the brand is mentioned we both get a bit emotional. We should avoid any discussion of them whenever we can. It's a trigger we can refuse to pull.

What Paper Target Did You Shoot Today

Hello everyone,

OK I just received a new Diana Bandit .177 cal Pistol this week and shot this New Target this morning, Off-Hand and in the Standing position. This is going to be a lot of fun this Winter shooting these targets indoors and trying to improve my ability. My accuracy will not win an Olympic event but it puts a smile on my face and that is what counts  .

Copies of the pdf files for both targets are available at this link here on the Forum:

Range: 15 - Feet Indoors
Rifle: Diana Bandit .177 caliber
Scope: The Hawkeye Red Dot
Pellets: H&N Finale Match 8.18gr Wadcutter
FPS:
FPE:

There ya go! I see a friendly competition coming this winter. This style shooting is called National Match and typically shot at 50feet, but I say any distance is valid because we ain't Olympiads. Anything over 90 points on a single card is great. Anything over 275 for typical 3-card match is great. Let’s boogie! 🤪😂😅

N/A  Switching to PCP

I started with break barrel springer and a PCP at the same time to see which i prefer, didn't want to touch the break barrel after about 50 shots, PCP is so much more fun to shoot, much lower action noise, no loud spring twang and strong recoil/vibration or dieseling type nonsense, higher power springer is also quite harsh to the scope, you'd better have a scope that's designed for it. Single reload just ain't gonna cut it when you need a quick follow up shot or trying to take out the 2nd or 3rd target close by. Do some research and reading up on the Avenge X, it's not just a good beginner PCP gun, it's a great gun for the money, .25 will give you reliable 50ft-lb all day all night every single day. A $200 compressor from Amazon should last you for awhile as long as it wasn't abused, trying to save a few bucks with using hand pump is going to get old quickly.

Airgun Technologies  Vulcan 3 HP (high power) .30

I would be interested. I am curious though with the higher pressures have you had any other seal/o-ring failures because of it?
Zero. On two different builds. Not a single oring fail. Only oring I’ve ever seen damage on was on the reg from pulling against those threads so much tuning. Other than that I’ve had many AGT rifles. No failures with factory or high power settings.

The Grease cup on the GX CS4 is crap.......

I think I’ve been reading about this greasing issue on every brand that uses the grease cup for four or five years.
A couple years ago I had an Omega Air Charger. It had the typical grease cup that’s in hundreds of posts on AGN.
If I still had it I would calculate the displacement of the recommended grease shot and then at the prescribed interval I would use a hypodermic with graduations and squirt it into the grease hole. Problems over and assured grease at the proper time and proper volume is being applied.

I dont trust you. (When buying in classified)

I’d say for every high $ item you sell in the classifieds you will have at least 10 people waist your time. I really like the guys that offer you more than you ask, and then they have their “friend” come pick it up….. lots of people out there trying to rip you off for sure. Unfortunately if you want to sell your stuff you have to put up with these people,
True. I hate folks who try to low ball you asking more than 50% off. Lol
