Beeman  P17 Cocking force adjustment

@Sawney Bean , I didn't notice a lot of grease in mine. I did clean it out but most of it was at the bottom of the cylinder and even then not that much. I'm not a physics or air guru so now I wonder where the ease in cocking meets a serious loss in accuracy seeing that this thing is a $40 plinker any-who.

Importance of scope zero

I keep my zero at 40 yards. Everything is holdover for the most part. I'm very used to it, even though people tell me that going to a sub 30 yard zero would be better.

Might be worth tinkering and seeing if there's any benefit to a closer zero. Factors like which pellet you're using (10.3s or 13.4s) and scope height and how your particular scope ranges are all at play. Best part of fiddling around with stuff like this is that it's trigger time (practice).

USARB Class Updates for next season

Greetings,

I have a few USARB announcements.

1st, I have taken over target sales after Joe Fredrick did a fantastic job for so many years. Thanks Joe!
Target costs and shipping has increased a fair amount. Should be no surprise there, we haven't had target's
printed in several years. I've worked with the WRABF to get the latest target files and specifications.
We have targets for the 4 distances classes now. 25, 50, 75 and 100 meters.
I have 25 and 50 meter. New color and format printed and in stock. As those are what we use the most.
I have the 75 and 100 meter being quoted presently. I don't plan to have many printed until people start shooting those classes.
There is a lot of crossover with N50 and EBR at those distances, so time will tell if they'll be used at all.
Another change is I'm selling targets to individuals now not just USARB clubs. I've gotten so many requests I've decided to give it a try,
Clubs get targets and shipping at my cost. Individuals pay a slightly higher cost. Minimum order is 100 targets. Prices and my contact info can be found on the USARB website.

2nd, We will be removing the USA Sportsmen's class for lack of participation.

3rd, We are adding a new and somewhat controversial class. It's called USA Hunter Target
It is a hybrid Hunter Field Target and 25 meter Benchrest class.
Details should be up on the USARB website later this week.
It's basically Hunter Field Target guns shot off buckets and sticks (bipods) at our 25 meter targets at 25 meters and scored accordingly.
Not as easy as it sounds. It can be shot simultaneously with a benchrest match.
The concept is to attract Field Target shooters to benchrest. It can be shot indoors or outdoors and regarded as good
practice for FT shooters. We've been shooting it localily this past summer and fall and has been very well received.

That's it for now.
I hope everyone enjoys the upcoming season.

Air Venturi  Avenge X finally arrived

Here is the last N50 target I shot. Finished 1st with a score of 246 on my last target.
AvengeX 25, Reg 1800 HS 2 turns CW. Don't know if it will repeat yet. So far I'm a happy camper.

Beeman  P17 Cocking force adjustment

I did the 3/16" x 1/4" deep drill the face of the piston trick and it is a huge improvement in cocking effort. It ran about 385FPS with some cheap pellets.
That’s a pretty small hole to make such a significant difference. One thing I noticed the last time I had mine apart was how much grease was concentrated on the piston and cylinder. I’m really suspicious that removing the extra grease might open up as much space as drilling the hole did.

Umarex  Umarex Zelos

Zelos or Max 1?

1. Has anyone seen a sale price on the Zelos in .25 caliber, that is in stock? (Umarex's discount code on their own web site, does not seem to work for me.)

2. Does anyone have any details, on the yet to be released Snowpeak Max 1, or the Umarex version of same, such as (release date/ price/ Umarex name)?

I know the Max 1 is suppose to be almost the same size, same length, about 1 pound heavier, and a lot more power than the Zelos.

My plan is to wait until the Max 1 gets released, and then examine the Max 1 reviews, but....If the Zelos were to go on sale, I would certainly be tempted!

Hope they make this in 30 and 35 caliber.

Selling asking buyer to pay pp fees.

Thats the whole point, it's your choice to not purchace it but it’s not your choice to tell anyone how much they want for the gun. If they want 100 you can pay 100ff or 105GS, the seller still gets what he's asking for. You guys are making this to complicated.
It’s NOT about the god dam fees!!! It’s leaving the buyer with ZERO protection if the seller drops the ball on his end that’s big deal.

How freaking hard is it to understand?

1: buyers shouldn’t have to pay the sellers fees.
2: if i want to make the purchase, I’ll gladly pay the sellers fees just to have buyer protection.
3:what I won’t do is pay for an item with F&F BECAUSE I HAVE NO BUYER PROTECTION that way.

Selling asking buyer to pay pp fees.

If the seller requests F&F and you don’t trust them because they don’t have enough positive feedback or forum presence or it’s a Monday or whatever don’t do business with them.
Why don’t you try being the one with no recourse if the deal goes bad? Why do you think the buyer needs to assume all the risk?

And this type of attitude is why I personally just keep scrolling when I see a for sale add that say F&F only.
