FX  FX Impact M4 first caliber

Thanks. My Maverick has been easy to tune. My best accuracy so far is in 30 caliber with the 44.8 FX pellets at 890 fps.

I might end up buying a second Maverick instead of a M4. Lots of reasons to stick with what I have. The only things that bugs me a bit sometimes about the Maverick/Wildcat is the loud hammer noise at high power tunes. I don’t know if the Impact has the same noise with its different internal setup.
I'd second going with a 2nd Maverick, you have one, you know it, you know how to fix it and tune it. The loud hammer noise is because it's right under your ear, either get a regular gun, not a bull pup or wear ear plugs. But I do agree when pumped up a bit they can be loud. I'm not sure I'll ever part with my Mavericks.

Umarex  My Notos first impressions

That's awesome! All those checked boxes sounds just VK lol. I'll definitely get some, rhe 17gr weight is very appealing, that should allow me to get at least 50 shots around 850fps from the GK1
Best example yet.

Shot him about 10min ago. Entered his right nostril. Was a large bump above his ass on his back. Was the slug. I removed it... Here.....

HW/Weihrauch  Airmasters master sport

I picked up ahw80 full length few weeks ago
What drew me to the rifle was the stock among other things , it a long stroke and a mk1 . But it has a airmasters mastersport stalker stock on it . Very well used and a bit knocked about . Going to rebuild the rifle with the skill of nick Simmons a reduced cylinder conversion . and I’m doing a sympathetic restoration on the stock . It will be reblued to . Nice project . Lovley bit of wood on this one , removed the majority of dents but left in the usage marks that a 40 year old stock picks up during it journey. Some way to go but should be nice

FX  FX Impact M4 - Velocity consistency?

I must admit that I didn’t get the sense that you valued technical inputs. Rather the opposite, as evidenced by the “measurebator” comments and associated rants. You might want to tone that down..

I have seen enough people obsessed with chasing down that extra 1fps ES/SD to loose sleep over it and keep tuning and retuning, hence the measurebator, which I was also guilty of sometime, to go after certain meaningless number that make very little to no difference in real world situation.

Don't get mixed up technical inputs with biased opinions, they aren't the same. Like wise, dial back your condescending tone and name calling insult ("endless stream of rabid customers" as you put it), you aren't any better than anyone else.... the double standard shenanigan isn't going to fly.

Field Target club in Iowa

Just an update on the club.

I have seven or eight members that have joined the Facebook group. They mostly live in the Cedar Rapids or south east Iowa area.
At this point I am just getting people interested in airgun activity together.

Once we have a group of enthusiasts we can approach a gun club about joining there club and using it for airguns.

Currently most clubs have airgun programs so it is just a mater of expanding an existing range from 10 yards to 60 yards.

For now I just post up videos and links to information about airgun.

Please join the group even if you don’t live it Iowa.

Ever have a tank split while filling

I do not believe I've seen a report like this before. As was suggested, the age and manufacturer of the tank would be useful information. Also if there was any visible damage prior to the event (there appears to be none). Did it seem to be leaking when you shut it down? I'm not suggesting it is usable, just curious if the liner failed first and air was gushing out.

Carbon fiber tanks are really thin aluminum tanks that are covered with carbon fiber. The limited test data I have seen shows large mechanical margins in the carbon fiber. My guess is this tank was built with a weak spot in the carbon fiber where the failure occurred. Perhaps too much resin and not enough fiber. Especially if the liner did not fail first. If the liner failed first, that could damage the carbon fiber. You would presumably know the liner failed because air would be rushing out - the carbon fiber is not expected to be able to stop a leak.

The good thing is this reinforces the possibility that when tanks like this fail it is not a big "explosion" but a more controlled leak event where injury is much less likely. I worry more about aluminum air chambers where there is no overwrap to contain fragments if they fail.
It's really cool how they make the CF tanks, we use to make CF centrifuge rotor buckets where I worked. It's all automated equipment and one CF strand and epoxy just continuously wrapped around the rotating part.
I'm darned certain that the posters tongue was firmly in their cheek with that suggestion of Flex seal. :) While I am careful handling my old expired SCBA bottle if these bottles failed violently, we would be hearing about the failures. I'm new here and this is the first structural bottle failure I've heard of. I used the arm section of an old survival suit for my bottle, it's snug as a bug in a rug. The thick Neoprene stretches a bit and provides excellent protection for bumps and bruises.
China can and does provide very high quality products, they also produce stuff slightly better than garbage and often from the same factory. My DJI drone is among the highest quality products I have encountered, one important point? It was NOT CHEAP. We see the worst on Ebay Amazon Etc. all about the price.
Look at the label it says USA. I'd be in contact with the MFG. ASAP.

AEA  Bintac T9

Welp, it seems my T9 is no good. Im not sure what the problem is, but both the factory mags and my own mags have been jamming like crazy. I was hoping my mags would be able to fix the issue, since it's linear movement instead of rotary. But it seems that no matter what, the mags just can't keep up with the speed of the bolt. It keeps hitting the pellets on the side of the skirt as opposed to dead center. I've seen this complaint quite a lot, but not everyone seems to have this problem.

Either my bolt spring is too weak or too strong, or something else is amiss. But it's been a consistent issue. Fill pressure doesn't make a difference. It jams at both high and lower pressures. And it happens at least once per mag. Until I can get a fix for this I won't be able to work on my mags for a while. I need a T9 that operates properly in order to perfrom tests.

What a letdown... Bin really needs to get his poop together.
Same issues but it mostly happens when I use Hades.

Ever have a tank split while filling

trust me I understand, that's why I said its difficult. Rebrand is the name of the game. Compressors too!
They're even more egregious on this. 750 for a $169 single cylinder. They make a "spritech" color it brown, turn it vertical, align the gauges, buttons and bleed valve vertically... voila "Benjamin discovery" $750
