He doesn't help much during deer season but he's great for distracting squirrels when I walk through the woods!
Looking foward to the 2025 Airgun Season..Im slowly making progress and learning alot with my custom 12 twist condors and cast slugs..Its been difficult but most things worth doing are..I need to buy parts for my Texan .510 and she will be on the road again..I also am going to be putting a moderator on my Umarex Airsaber...I lucked into the parts..I think i can shoot without vaines and be accurate and quiet with easton 2219,s. Anyways happy new years much thank to the friends and support on AGN!!!!!

How do you plan to shoot without vanes?
Peashooter
Forward indeed.
I will however probably have to forget the RTI Mora, of let me rephrase, i hope there will be something nice a little cheaper.
For instance a FX DRS classic 2.0 with easy to reach " knobs " to dial on.
But i am open, also the plan really was to get a bullpup to replace the Maverick

Also i wish Winter came with FF button, even if such a thing are dangerous to use at my age.

When playing around shooting 120 yards with the Airsaber I had a arrow with messed up fletchings so i cut them off and shot it.. To my suprise it was exactly the same right to left only about 3inchs higher than the ones with vaines.. Im going to test and see.. Without vaines will be much quiter...Smaller exit hole... Will see..Wont cost anything to moderate the Airsaber worth a try... To date my Airsaber is reliable has never broke...knock on wood lol
Americans will do any format but metric.

Americans are just stubborn is all… brash, bold, stubborn, often wrong, but mostly good hearted people. Simply striving to live up to an idea in our everyday, dichotomous lives…🙏
Peashooter
I have always said Americans are crazy.
BUT My kind of crazy, so i would not have it any other way.

There are still things we will have to negotiate / re evaluate if / when i get to be the dictator here, but we will deal with that by then.
Miracle at the Laundromat…

Was at the laundromat, Bubbles on Broadway today. While there I noticed this woman trying to load a washer while holding a small baby girl. The lady was dropping laundry so I offered help, she politely declined. But shortly after, to my astonishment she handed me her 3 month old, red headed baby granddaughter…🙈So there I was getting smiled at by a toothless, beautiful, red headed baby girl… Made my year end great… Still can’t believe it happened…
Peashooter
I have a fear of infants.
BUT ! love kids the second you can communicate just a little with them.
Most days however i am glad i never fathered any myself, but once in a while i am slapped in the face and i realize i might be missing out on something,,,, but it is rare.
Of course,,, now it is way too late for me, that ship sailed 30 years ago.

My not so secret wish is to be a grandfather… Hopefully God hears my Prayers…
Not licenced construction going on in my friends fields, these little bastards though, experts in trench warfare, so make it hard for the lone sniper.

Making my point on a gas tank nozzle at 60 M ( zeroed for 55 )

Thanks to the friends on AGN!!!!! My Hunting Season and health has been the best year ever!!!! I have my freezers stocked for the year...All with info help and recources from AGN.. My free cast slugs made me a happy hunter this year!!! The Old Texan did some work...
Ahhh My Big .510 Texan let me down last day in hunting shack.... Went to cock and both screws stripped out of aluminum carrier tube ..Was hoping to get cocked for one shot but no go...I guess in using the air saber today...Airguns definitely break... You always need a back up

No different issues from before..The screws just stripped out of carrier tube from use..I dont ever switch out barrels..I dont know if ill buy another airforce aluminum one or buy AOA steel one,,,it is $160.00 though.. I finished out the day hunting with the Airsaber..All in all this was the best hunting season i ever had.. The way i look at it now is my Texan shoots free cost me nothing ammo one once slugs in one hole at 50 yards.. Yes it defenitly breaks..Kinda like a 2 stroke motercycle...So i buy Airforce Texan parts and compressors compared to powder burners at $2.00 to $5.00 a shot.. Airguns work but there are no free rides
I visited the local store Gunpit on Friday, and got to handle various daystate - brocok - RTI and FX rifles.
I dunno what happened but all of the rifles felt quite small and fragile, well compared to my old Maverick and not least my Two which is like a sledgehammer in comparison with those little bulpup rifles.
BRK ghost felt fine though, Smol but fine, still like to get me some trigger time on one.

Also my M8 i brought along, well it seem the FX rifle ( Panthera ) he like / dislike in pictures, well hands on he is now sure that will be just fine for him, the big question is where to find the substantial amount of money for it.
In all fairness it do not take my M8 much work to dislike just about anything.

Was the Ghost the only BRK you handled? Because the Atomic is just as solid. In fact, the entire lineup is solid. Each as good as the others… I’ve owned five different models, still own three…🙏
Peashooter
Yeah LLeon the store do not have the Atomic, dont think he ever carried it.
The ghost HP is also the only ghost version in store it would seem from their webpage.

It is not like the guns felt bad, just strangely small - light and delicate, well compared to what i got / have tried.
The feeling was the same with the M4, and the RTI P3 was like OMG its so small and delicate.

On a side note my friend, shopping in another EU country he can get the Panthera 2000 Dkkr / 282 USD cheaper
81 and going on 82. Diagnosed with lung cancer, stage 3, figured I was dead and just quit everything. Three years have passed and I'm now in full remission. Believe Drs. Jack Daniels and his associate Dr. Jim Beam...with consultations from Dr. Jonnie Walker, have saved me from certain death. My oncologist, of course, claims full responsibility, but I've never trusted her fully! A man's got to believe in what he can see and hold. Radiation, chemo and immunosuppressants are just big words, whereas I can touch and taste my personal physician's "home remedies"!

Damm Hoot! I thought you were badgering a CNA in the old peoples storage unit by now. Life is good!!!

People with my attitude don't die...they just rot, smell bad, and cause other individuals to wish THEY were dead! People always said my grandpa's heavy drinking would kill him, and sure enough they buried him at age 103. Coroner later had concrete poured on top his grave site 'cause people swore they heard "digging sounds" coming from underneath his tombstone!!! True story!
Regards,
Kindly 'Ol Uncle Hoot

Raising a glass of rye whiskey to toast your recovery… Your “attitude” alas, that is thankfully, incurable…🙏
It is range time !!!

Or that is, first it is buy and put EHD tarp on roof of shot shed time, CUZ the damn thing is taking in water.
And as it is also electrified mow ( mains and USB power ) well we cant have that.
But by noon i think we will be back up and running, which give me 4 hours to play with stuff ( ammo ) before it get dark

On the good side i found the tarp in a place we know well ( have driven 4x4 RC truck competitions there )
So the route is well known.
I only driven there 1 time, and took the #2 spot after my M8, but we also have about a decade head start on most other people there.
As a bonus the route go past the Town of Herning where the airgun store Gunpit is located, so i figure bring my M8 and let him see some of the real stuff, maybe that can prompt him to sell of some of the surplus stuff he have and buy a expensive rifle VS the Chinese stuff he have.

It should not take much more than a hour to put the new Extreme Heavy Duty tarp on the roof of the shed, it is almost 4 X heavier than the tarp that is there already, so this one i am fairly confident will last a while at least.

Bringing my pesting / Digi rifle, CUZ i want to dial it in for Hades pellets, maybe even try a little 13 grain slugs in it too which is my #2 alternative ammo now that 10 grain KO MK3 slugs will not work, but i know 13 gr Zans have worked in my 700 mm barrel so it should work in the 600 mm one too.

And good timing, today is just drizzle, tomorrow is all day rain it seem according to the unreliable weather gurus working on my tax dime.

06:25 in the morning now and i have been up since 05:30, and most surprising i have slept too, which sadly is unusual,
Factory open at 7 and it is a 1.5 hour drive there

For sure i will not last till way past midnight waiting for rats to take the bait.

Also my M8 gotten a new spotting scope, 80 X magnification, so will see little 4.5 mm holes in the far end of the field, came with little tripod and phone holder so we dont have to lean over to see where the shots land.

PS: The new foot on my CF tank, Daum  that was hard guiding into the range bag, but it is in there alright but i fear if it have to come out i will have to cut apart the range bag,,,,, so lucky it is cheap.

Struggled with this lower ball joint for 2 weeks. Tried a couple of C clamp presses. Tried beating it with a sledge hammer. Best I got it was half way out. Had to order this press made specifically for full size trucks. It popped out the ball joint in 1 minute! Talk about right tool for the job. IMG_1342.jpeg
Not that i am paranoid.
But it warm my heart "The Big Stick" will be cruising the North sea, probably the area of what was the greatest ever Naval battle ever ( Battle of Jutland )
Also the old Red & white look mighty fine up there in the mast.

big stick.jpg

Of other naval curiosities i think Denmark was the target of the very first air attack on land launched off a carrier, during WW1 when the British bombed a zeppelin airfield near the now Danish town of Esbjerg ( back then it was part of Denmark Germans took in 1864 )

Also i think Denmark / our capitol might also have been the first town in the world to be attacked by Naval missile attack,,,,, again those Damn British.

The Iowa is in the North Sea? o_O
Peashooter
Dont they also call USS Theodore Roosevelt carrier the big stick too ?
I for sure would not like to get smacked by it 😁

Knew about the Iowa for sure, my friend have a RC model of USS Missouri BB63 in 1:128 scale,,,,, so for a RC boat,,,, well it take 2 guys to move it around.
Well, I did it. I lit the fuse and there is no going back now. I elected to retire on March 28. It's a bit nerve wracking, but the blood pressure has already dropped 5 points just knowing that this current life chapter is about to close. It has been an honor to serve, time to let the next generation step up.

Wife already has a full schedule laid out :D Daddy day-care is expensive - I think I need more supervision already.

Damn man. My condolences to you and your family.

Sorry for your Loss. I lost my mom almost 10 years ago. I feel for you buddy.

Take care of yourself. I mean that. I went on a bad bender after mom which lead me to being almost 6 years sober now if you catch my drift.
10:10 AM he left this world. Beautiful and sad.
L.Leon
My deepest condolences to you… My dad passed away four years ago at 84 years old. I still cry and mourn his absence. Will be thinking of both my parents during tomorrow’s Thanksgiving celebration…🙏
