Decided since they discontinued the Marlin 60 rifle, I would spruce mine up a bit.

Got a Boyd's thumbhole stock for it and put my BSA sweet 22 6-18x40 scope on top mounted with a cantilever BKL mount.

I love my model 60! That's a pretty stock.
Does that feed tube hold 18 bullets? Mine only holds 14 but I did buy it at Wally world.
Dr. Kralenstein
It's the 14 round model also. They stopped making the 18 a long time ago. Mine is around a 2017 model I think.

Back in my teenage years I killed a ton of squirrels with one of those. Nice looking gun.
Danish sharp shooter Rikke Mæng Ibsen was triumphant in India in the 50 M / 3 positions discipline world cup final.
Runner up a Norwegian girl and the 3 spot was taken by a Chinese shooter.
The winning score was 466,2, i assume out of a 500 MAX ???

Rikke pretty happy having only manage a 14 spot at the Olympics.

Rikke is shooting a Walther LG500.

There are also Danish participation in the 2 Skeet finals on Thursday.
Oneleaf NV500, shooting 13 grain Zan 75 M with a Epic Two with mountain range shaped shoestring, and still NO problem.

Yes i am holding here, at this time i was dialed in for 55 M. 30 M - 80 M and 93 M distances was also satisfying.

I got a new bench with a WALL!

A lot more space so I can keep 2 each of parts on the table now and I can keep the big tanks on the table as well.

Sweet!

Very nice and good organization of tools.
Peashooter
Slightly smaller than the living room table that is my work bench.
It would be nice to have a room just for tinkering with things, but i can not afford the rent on a 3 or 4 room apartment, well at least not a apartment in a populated region of this small country.

I could actually get a house in a rural area for the same i pay for my current apartment, also with more rooms, the problem is those houses are most often a pretty poor heating rating, meaning it will cost a lot to keep them warm
THEFT....My Custom 22 Condor was stold from under my carport.. Im on crutchs today and wanted to go squirell hunting..I couldnt do the steps with the airgun so i left under the carport..I live off the road rural location..I leave quad weed wacker various tools i use there frequentely.. My neighbor s on meth staying at his dads house.. So i guess he had the balls to walk up and steal it...Anyways he is brazen.....This condor has a custom doug noble valve and a 12 twist .222 barrell..I live in Perryopolis PA If this comes up for sale let me know.. It the one in mu profile post with squirrel
I was at the recycling yard today with about 20 -30 years worth of accumulated paper.

Almost threw out some of my history.

The Bar on MT Torm Kristina, behind it the pool, in the bar more seats then needed for the 17 man crew. ( that is counting every single soul on the ship )

Bar and pool.jpg

Part of the Bridge.

Bridge.jpg

Looking back from the front of the ship.
On the very left is a " torpedo " it is a pressure release valve from the cargo tanks, i assume you have seen when tanker trucks get under a vacuum or for that matter too much pressyre,,,,,, you do NOT want to super size that.

Looking back.jpg

Looking forward from up high on Monkey island ( that's above the wheelhouse )

looking forward.jpg

The manifold where our cargo went in / out, i think never used at its full capacity, or for that matter even half of it.
Connected with a single 8" hose normally and running 1 pump it took a couple of days to empty the ship, pumping 24/7.
Took the same time filling the ship.

Manifold.jpg

Engineer at work,,,,, guess who have to clean up their mess.

ENG at work.jpg

Down in " the hole" where i normally roamed.
Me tearing into a Centrifuge / or if you like filter in laymen terms.

Centrifuge.jpg

The two fresh water generators on the ship, boiling sea water in a vacuum using the main engine heat, output = fresh water and a NASTY brine.

Fresh water generators.jpg

The engine top looking back at a few of the Cylinders ( tops ) on the Right.
In the background a spare Cylinder liner bottom part of the pushrod, and a spare piston on the top part of a piston rod.
On the Left some spare Cylinder heads ( these are not tightened with tongue wrench like a car head would be, you pull the threaded rod ( about 2" in diameter ) that hold them long with hydraulics and then you hand tighten the nut, and then release the pull on the boldt )

There is also a spare exhaust valve somewhere, i know cuz we had to replace one while adrift in the Indian Ocean, the seat on one of those suckers, almost the size of a LP record.
Burned a hole in / by the seat, almost big enough to put your pinkie finger thru.

This engine topped out around 90 - 100 RPM, but we mostly ran around 80 something RPM, enough HP / torque to snap something really big.

This is back in 1991, before age set in,and my government ruined my dreams and mental health.

BTW the pictures was developed in Japan, by two girls in a photo shop, very giddy girls, i think they have naver seen a Gaijin that good looking before.
A few hours later with a belly full of Kobe steak - Japanese beer, and of course " warm Sake " i picked up my developed film, and the girls had calmed down.

Still think of that day, every time i get to Kill bill chapter 4 ( the Hattori Hanzo scene that always give me goosebumps )

Well... We lived. It was a bit dicey for a while. A broken gas line nearly took the house before I was able to shut it off. Luckily no trees fell on us. Our neighbors weren't so lucky. Eight houses here have trees on them.

Daum.
Denmark dont have that big winds, or that is some times we have big storms, and some forrest areas can be flattened to a degree.
Also get a tree across a road now and then, but i have never seen this personally and we have been known to venture out into " extreme " weather when authorities advise against doing just that.

O i forgot, once in a forrest we did come across a pretty big Oak that had fallen, we hooked our two 4 X 4 cars up for a double pull and pulled it a few 100 M down the paved road in the forrest, just to mess with the people that found it in the morning.

The reason forrests get flattened here now and then is, its not really forrests but plantations, if you look at Denmark from a satellite, you will fine lines of trees in many green areas of the country, this is CUZ we also wiped that out a long time ago.

Biggest problem for us is probably flooding after heavy rain fall, some places are showing weakness in this regard, and clearly things have to be beefed up to cope with future events.
It is not houses floating down the river ASO CUZ we barely have a river here big enough to float a shed let alone a house, also very few wood houses here, so that aint going to float.
But flooded houses - basements and so on, also all the idiots that have build a house / summerhouse right at the waters edge.
The town of Vejle here have been flooded in places 2 times this year, 2 feet of water will still ruin a lot of stuff.

Earlier this year apparently someone tried to fell roadside trees onto cars driving past,,,, i kid you not.

Also in the past weeks, someone have felled / stolen road side trees in a area of the country,,,,, and OK firewood is not cheap but come on, how the hell you you get away with 30 or so trees some 3 feet in diameter.
WoodWelder
That must of felt like days wondering "when are these guys coming to turn the gas off"?

Scary!
Peashooter
Yeah gas is nasty, houses in Denmark have not had gas since the late 70ties or so, and back then it was also just for stoves / cooking as far as i remember.
Also about that time we started pulling those awful air wires and put things in the ground where it belong.
Al(oletomcat) would like a list of who is going to attend the Fall Classic funshoot so that he can plan the food accordingly. Either let him know through the link on the agn calendar or drop me a message.
Finally luck with the CHazsel 12 twist .222 barrel with 55 grain and 47 grain .225 slugs..Slugs shoot at 930 fps for 55 and 975 for the 47 grain..Any higher pressure accuracy everywhere..Slugs not stable supersonic..Im learning
Peashooter
I have shot smaller stuff for the small caliber i shoot super sonic, and it arriving in correct orientation, also pretty decent accuracy, but i did chase POI around
for a long time i did shoot 13 grain at 1050 fps ( not SS ) but in the end found out 960 or so was much better with no chasing POI

Lost count on the many times i have tried to shoot heavy stuff fast, then given up and put something lighter in, and forgotten to lower pressure.
The crack of super sonic wake you up.
Having a nice day off, spending time on the shop. Weather is still nice, highs in the 80-90's and nights in the low 60's. It turns out that the laser and the lathe are complimentary in my shop. I turn material while the laser is busy. Keeps my cookie snatchin' hands off the parameters while the laser machine is busy laser machinin'.

Hunting for squirrels and I see multiple deer. Hunting for deer and I see a ton of squirrels.
I'm not allowed to have multiple weapons while hunting here, so it's archery only until the freezer is full of deer meat.

To the squirrels I say,"I SEE YOU! Your luck won't last forever."

I almost gave up on my Chazsel .222 12 twist barrels for my condor builds..At first 55 grain and 45 grain arenal hitting sideways..I had the power turned up??Anyways bought some 36 .223 NSA slugs...They would stablize and only shoot on the low end ,,everything turned town 2500 psi..So for the heck of it I tried the 47 and 55 grain slugs..With everything turned down they are stablizeing..This valve has the power,,but anything super sonic crazy inaccuate and unstable.. Im learning..Getting a 9 twist .223 barrel soon!!!
I built a 20 ton press with a 12V powerpack about a decade ago and while its very strong, its very slow due to the huge cylinder and it makes production too slow to be useable.

I inherited a second press that's half the size and has a cylinder half the diameter so that will increase the cycle time by X3.

Cool?

The powerpack was bad so I bought a new one and this one has a 2 button pendant that I hate and I'm going to swap that out for a 2 position joystick. Or so I thought.

Problem is, it's a 4 wire switch, a 2 position 4 NO is needed but one does not exist at affordable prices. I had to build my own.

Days at the shot shed.
Yesterday dispensed of some pellets nice and easy, then packed my rifle as sun set and M8 brought night scope mounted Gamo arrow, and soon a big fat rat was history.

Getting cold at night 10 deg C or less, but with oven going nice and warm in the shot shed.
Not super warm, we both agree that come really cold, the diesel heater will have to come into play too.
But last night, no one was freezing while in the shed with 2 lanes ( shudders ) open for business.

Shot shed Hygge.jpg

You have to really speed up the old fat guys to get any movement.

Today i got on dispensing the last few pellets, and then changed to 13gr slugs.
5 shot groups @ 30 M shooting barracuda match average 907 fps.
Not particular nice groups, i have seen much better with other pellets.

30 M 5SG.jpg

Naturally in the shot shed, everyone is a VIP, and so you get the full VIP treatment.
so today at noon i got a order of fries to go with the peas i shoot.

fried shooter.jpg

Not long after, STOP !!!!!!!! said the valve in the Two as it developed a slow leak from the valve.

Ahh all done rebuilding yong heng 8 th time...Couldnt sleep last night changed piston in a half hour..On the road again another 8-10 refils on my scba tanks....
R
well the 8th piston didnt last..Brand new the piston rod broke almost instantly...Bad from manufacture..Took apart changed connecting rod..Working again..I need to upgrade air source soon!!!!!
Trying to muster up the courage to rebuild the old yong heng for the 8 th time in 3 years..I keep the tools to rebuild right beside compressor..No need to put away..lol .It usually needs a new piston after the 8-12 fill on scba tanks..IT costs30.00 for new piston gasket..30 min time to rebuild..So i guess its worth it...

There is definitely something wrong with your YH! I've got well over 100 hours on mine and I only blew out a 4500psi safety dusk (totally my fault, I used a used tampon that shredded, blocked the outlet).
Just bumping this up. Not sure if it actually is getting the word out or if it should go under "General."
Ezana4CE
What are you BUMPing up exactly?
D
The info I posted before. Or at least that's what I thought I was doing. Don't really know if it has been seen or not. I didn't even know you had commented until looking just now. Still trying to figure out how this works.
Super happy to try some NSA 36 grain .223 slugs in my 12 twist chazsel barrels for my custom condor builds..I just shot one to see if i needed to size..AND super sonic...ill chronograph tomm..ill bet 1300 fps...ill try a subsonic amd super sonic load. fingers crossed i like something to go pa squirrel hunting with

Yes my Texan .510 is finally consistently accurate...Alteast 300-500 powder coated slugs shot through the barrel since last cleaning...My 3 hours of old school hand lead lapping my barrel payed off. I stated at 120 grit..My gun had to be cleaned every 3 rounds before for any kind of accuracy...The slugs i shot were strait otta NOE 4 cavity mold not sorted in any way..Powder Coated..And to boot very hard wheel weight lead from the 1970's and water quenched too..They are hard..But when sized properly to .510..They shoot just fine..I have 100% pure lead powder coated slugs and both shoot the same..I have about 150 lbs of the free wheel weight lead made into 450 and 630 grain hard lead cast slugs..It s really a waste shooting them at low speeds..Im sure that hard lead water quenched powder coated slugs would be fine up to 2500 fps..But they were just buckets of old nasty greasy wheel weights..Now beautiful accurate free .510 slugs..Powder coating almost free. 1 lb does alot of slugs...
Ezana4CE
I believe it. I've shot some Hornady Cowboy bullets that are obviously harder that airgun slugs and they shoot pretty well. Is it tough to clean all that gunk from the wheel weight lead? I'm wondering if you have to melt the lead multiple times to thoroughly clean it.
R
Its pretty easy to clean the wheel weight lead..Just a cast iron dutch oven on a outdoor propane cook burners..Once the lead melts all the steel floats to the top..The grease acts as a flux and burns off..All impuritys come to the top and skim off..I then pour into old muffin tins to make my clean lead for casting..Its the same process for pure lead, except its usually a roll of roofing lead..I cut it in pieces, put in dutch oven , melt, flux, skim off impuritys, pure in muffins tins, ingonts ready to cast. Pure roofing lead cost me $1.00 a pound at the local junk yard..Im sure they buy it for alot less..
Just sitting here watch geese fly in formation. And did you ever why one side of the V is usually longer than the other side?

There's more geese on the long side!
Ezana4CE
I was glassing some squirrels this morning and caught a formation of about 8-9 geese flying (I assumed they were geese). One side of the "V" was longer than the other. I never wondered why. I was trying to observe how they conserve energy flying so close to one another. I noticed one trying to glide a bit while the others flapped to a beat I could not hear.
Peashooter
Indeed, i think the long " arm " would indicate the down wind direction.
