Gotta Love FaceBook

You kidding me? :ROFLMAO:
I'd go all
well several were from young Ladies like you that sent Friend Requests.
Then there's the occasional hooker not to mention that rude lady at General Dollars one time.

I have a sick humor.
@Privateer I can totally see the alphabet boys befriending you on FB. I don’t mean the rainbow ones either. Funny nevertheless.

I should clarify the Ex-Hacker statement.
We still hack programs but no longer release that work.
One of my Hacks is to dismantle ChairGun and adjust it to my wants.
It is just a Java application after all.
And not very well protected given one knows how to grab the extracted files.

I am not on facebook and know little about it, however my wife is. I asked her to list an airgun once on facebook marketplace (no idea if the rules are the same), but it was not allowed. Sure would love a way to sell airguns locally, Craigslist is out too.

Like @Privateer I have an account that is really locked down, only far more than his - I have ZERO friends on it, and that is how it will stay.

I wanted to get on it to follow stuff one of my kids was doing a number of years ago, and when I investigated it I found that even at the tightest settings, friends of your friends can see you and send requests. So even if you only have one friend, if that friend gets active and has a lot of active friends, you could be toast. (better than being wide open, but you could still be seen by hundreds or more, and FB will try to get them to connect to you - that is why there are so many friend requests). That led to my simple solution - lock it down and "friend" nobody, and then nobody will even know you are there. It has worked great for over five years now - never really been bothered by anything FB related, and I can still read stuff if I want to. I have liked a few organizations, and that has not led to anything bad either.

I think of it this way - I use it like a library without bothering to register for a library card. I go in, read and research what I want and leave. They don't even know who you are.

Me too ZERO friends but i still have facebook itself suggesting friends of friends of friends .
I guess I should have said I get those too, but not many lately - I think they gave up on me. Of course I have not been in it for a while, so that might be it. But those e-mails are just a form of spam, and you can automatically send them to junk - there will never be anything in there that matters.

The funny thing was that when I first signed up I did so with a brand new gmail address purposely created for use for FB. It had no history of any kind, and when I joined they had NO idea who I was - they used to recommend random people around the country as they had no clue who this email represented. It was funny. I only used to log in at work on my company computer (allowed, of course) during lunch and see what my kid was up to, and they had no clue who I was.

Then one day I decided I wanted to show my parents some stuff on their grandkid and I loaded the app on my iPhone. BAM! They instantly knew who I was, and they started recommending my actual friends to me. Of course I never did send any requests. To this day even my wife and kids cannot find any clue of me on Facebook no matter how they search, but Facebook now knows who I am. So if you really want to be anonymous, use a dedicated e-mail address and don't log in on any "registered" device . . .

I guess I ended up getting that library card anyways, but I still never check anything out from FB . . . ;)
