Airgun Technologies Uragan 2 177 vs vulcan 3 177

I've been on the fence on the Vulcan 3 .177, there is little to no info on them anywhere I have searched. Only thing I can find about then is that they have a ton of shots in sub12 and FAC and that they shoot well.

I have experience with the Uragan 2 Compact and the 700mm as I have both in .22 but I want one in .177 whether that's the compact or the 600mm doesn't really matter.

Does anyone have any experience to speak on both .177 platforms, more importantly the vulcan 3 .177?

Thanks, Jean-Claude

Best bet is to contact Derrick Wall zx10wall a member here. Derrick handles and services both those brands and is very informative about the pros and cons of each brand. Good Luck

URAGAN 2 in .177 is IMO not a good combo.
Being this is there first attempt at using balanced valve tech, the gun breathes SOOOOO HEAVVVVY with such a valve the air efficiency is poor and there VERY Loud for the output as the valve has no miens of lift/dwell buffering so it just ROARS !! in air release output !!!

Not sure on the Vulcan 3, as i have no experience with them at this juncture ???

I thought AGT refined their valves from their first batch, they still have issues in the .177? Or is this from when they first released the U2 platform?
I’ve tuned both.
Which would you prefer if you were to shoot day in and day out, is the U2 .177 loud compared to the .22 variant?

My experience was on a early release U2 ... No idea on if they refined it later on ?

I’ll share my .177 Vulcan 3 tune after this doctor’s appointment.

I suppose I should ask what the goal is. What are you planning to shoot, projectile wise? The U2, as well known, has a balanced valve.

What I’ve seen with this little .177 compact is that the factory hammer spring was too strong. I shortened it for better efficiency as it was over dwelling the valve. This did help.

Range, and shot count for pest control.

Primarily, this would be a fifty yards and inside gun, which let's face it. Most guns can do that now. But I do pest control and so I would like to have the ability to sling enough power out to 100yd just incase I don't have my dedicated long range guns on hand. Which is why for the U2 I would go for either compact or 600mm although for shot count purposes given what you've shown with the tune, I would likely go with 600m over compact.

Either the .177 U2-600 or the .177 Vulcan 3 would do fine. I would personally go with the .177 U2-600. Very easy to cock and tuned well, it’s quite.

I’ve tuned a .177 Vulcan 3 for KnockOuts at 945 fps. It was accurate and quiet. It’s a little larger more bulky gun than the U2.

All that said, I’m shooting a .177 V3 now for AAFTA Hunter and do very well with pellets.
Thanks for the advice! I admire the extra bulk of the Vulcan 3 help in that kind of competition?

Yes, but just backing the adjustment way off has been sufficient for all my guns.
Gotcha, well I got a V3 .177 that's getting a buttload of shots. I think I will still end up buying the U2 600mm .177. I managed to sell the U2 .22 700mm. The V3 is doing very well with pellets atm, I just gotta find the time to tune it for better consistency.
