Cs4i or yong heng

I’m a new guy just starting. I have a Ghost HP on the way. I’ve been researching all day and can’t decide between the two. It would be much easier if I could guarantee that I was going to get a genuine yong heng but that doesn’t see to be possible. So I am going to either roll the dice with that or spend the extra $300 on the cs4i.

Main question is, will I see benefits from the upgrade? What are those benefits? Longevity? Speed?

I’m primarily just going to be topping off my small bottles 10-15 times per week if I had to estimate. Might get a large tank down the road but not there yet.

Any feedback, recommendations, wisdom etc is greatly appreciated!

Cs4i, it's indoor friendly in terms of noise, it's slower than Yong heng but it's bound to last longer, has a warranty, and the maintenance is extremely easy. It also has a built in water cooling system.

I would definitely go with the GX CS4 over the YH. It's way quieter, is fully self contained, runs way cooler and will probably out live the YH by years!

If you decide on the GX, you can save 10% using their code GX10OFF, shipping is free, and there is no sales tax if purchased direct from GX Pump's website!

I would stay away from the nomad, I haven't heard very many good things about them. I have one of the early GX CS4 compressors. It's been Rock Solid from day one. If you're going up north or on vacation for a week you can bring it with you with no added buckets for water or any of the other crap. I was so impressed with the GX line I bought a K2 which is their twin cylinder for home use. I love both of them. Just start looking for a sale, you'll save a few bucks and you won't be disappointed

They have a 10% going on right now. I guess that’s the nail in the coffin. Cs4i it is!

It's NOT difficult to get an authentic YH on Amazon. Just verify with seller AND get extended warranty. The Yong Heng has served me & others very, very well.
I doubt many of these sellers would even be honest. Then you factor in the tax and $40 for the warranty and the gap between the two shrinks even more. I wish there was a legit Airgun website that offered them. It honestly seems crazy that they don’t. The $200 isn’t a big deal to me though so I’m just going to save myself the hassle and get the GX.

It would be nice to know the experience of the owners of the opinions you are receiving. You could have opinions from one of at least four kinds of people:
- Only have experienced a Yong Heng or clone
- Only have experienced a GX pump (preferably CS4, but could be one of the others)
- Have experienced both
- Have experienced neither

I would think the third group would be the most valuable . . .

I'm in the fourth group. I am a long time Shoebox user and plan to stick with it (I have a newer backup if needed too), but if I were to have to get a replacement compressor I would go with the GX CS4. I don't doubt that the Yong Heng could do the job and would serve me well, but I would pay the extra costs for the low noise hassle free solution that is likely to last a long time. I have grown used to being able to run my Shoebox whenever I want without disturbing my family, and I would want to keep that ability. And either way, I would run it with an appropriate desiccant filter too.

I am in the, own 3 and have a lot of experience with YH group, and I haven't owned a GX anything yet, but I have been following a lot of long time members here that have a lot of experience, and I would go with a GX anything,, over a YH at this point. You didn't cheap out on the gun, so don't give yourself (and your ears) a headache with your compressor.

That was exactly my thought. I have a decent gun and I want it to be an enjoyable hobby…the extra $200 is nothing especially considering it might pay itself off in longevity and therefore be cheaper in the long run.

Believe me, you'll enjoy the whole sport a whole lot more if you are not messing with a Yong Heng. I'm neck deep in them at this point, and I like always having backups for sure, but I would not do it again, if starting over. I'd get the big single cylinder GX or the Omega Air Charger with a 9L bottle, first, especially if I had started younger, you'll need more air than you think.

You gotta go with what feels right for you. Maybe I've just been lucky. Good luck whatever you decide.

Have both & it's CS4 for the win w me.

If you're a beginner it will be much more user friendly....much, much more

Quieter by a mile, easier to set up, doesn't act like it's going to become unraveled at any minute. The temp on the YH is a constant emotional stress factor when using.

The YH is a good quick fill, but needs constant supervision. It's sounds like a hive of angry robo-hornets.

In retrospect Im not sure why anyone would willingly choose a YH

Ive ordered from both Amazon & Aliexpress w no serious issues. Im not sure lowballing it fpr a source is worth the worry factor.

I’d rather pay a little more for a set it and forget model. Thanks for the info especially because you have both!
No probs

If you prefer shooting over HPC maintenance, the extra $ is money well speant

I accidentally ordered two for my son who I figured didn't have the level of interest required to rig up a YH.

Long story short, Fedex botched the tracking on an Aliexpress order & I was sure I had been scammed so ordered a 2nd.

Now he has 2 & I'm OK w that

I've owned 2 YH compressors, both died at or under a year in. I've also owned a couple Hatsan compressors (one broke) as well as a Benjamin Recharge and Traveler (Traveler was great, the Recharge was loud), a Hill EC-3000 (Still have it and it's running strong) a GX CS4 and GX L3E, both also running strong. IMHO, the GX CS4 is by far the best bang for the buck on the market right now.
