what kind of slugs are you shooting?
Yes it is a great blessing having a place to go like this and the guy that owns the property has a interesting personality too, so we are always having fun. We also have bunch of steel for centerfire pistols with most being inside 25Y in this same direction, and In the opposite direction we have steel starting at 550Y on out to 1143Y for centerfires.
I was shooting the 32.3gr Altaros.
Good news and bad news.
I hit the lottery on the barrel indexing which could be why this barrel shoots so good. I randomly got the index number 10 however long ago it was when I had taken the barrel out to clean it and reinstalled it which was 2-3 weeks ago?? Today it wasn't but medium winds so I decided to take care of the barrel indexing experiment. It was somewhat unofficial and by that I mean I just shot two shots each number and turned the barrel somewhat randomly. I had a 1 in 12 chance of being TDC, and guess what, #10 was the perfect highest POI point on the cardboard?! This was at 25Y and the bigger hole has a half dozen shots in it. At the bottom by the tape was my recheck and 3 shots for #10.
However, and frickin unbelievably, my EVO started doing that weird BURP thing!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
When it does this it doesn't fire a projectile out and makes a hard to hear BURP sound, so I had to take the mag out, because there was a slug loaded in the chamber, attempt a shot, and usually the gun will work the second time.
This is officially the most temperamental PCP I've ever had! Far worse than my G1 Impact was, and my FX Revolution was, which had set my personal records before.
It reminds me of my ex wife, so very pretty, smart, very capable and did a lot of things well, but also absolutely a untrustworthy, stubborn, and a crazy = ""YOU KNOW WHAT""!
Now what do I do?
After I did the test I shot from 35Y out to 72Y on a 1.125" KZ and this darn gun just shoots fantastic. The vertical was sub 1" at 72Y.
It's a love hate relationship.

Pretty cool how that indexing works!
i have experienced what sounded like a double shot or sounds like firing with an open breech, but when it happened, i still got the same FPS and POI..but it sounded weird.
yours sounds different if the slug is not exiting the barrel
Not certain, but maybe the solenoid?

Yeah exactly.
I was too frustrated to deal with it yesterday. One thing is for sure I'm learning patience but I'm beginning to wonder if every problem a EVO has ever had is all inclusive with my gun. If it had all these problems, and it shot like crap too, I'd be incredibly pissed off right now.
If I have to send mine back I'm not sending the barrel back with the gun because I don't want to take a chance of losing it somehow. I've got some precise barrels in some of my other pcp's and it doesn't get much better than this one is, at least with these slugs.
How could a gun be so right and so wrong all at the same time?!

Lately, i have been using the apps for the FX ballistic crono to keep track of my S.D. at the muzzle and at my target range

I haven't even gotten to the point of dialing everything in yet so I can reduce my ES.

I "think" the burping problem is gone. At least is was today but there's more to the story.
It was 37 degrees out when the problem happened last Friday, and the battery was one bar down, also the dwell was set at 20. Could all those combined caused the burping, who knows?!
Today I let the EVO sit in the sun for 20 minutes, it was nice out in the low 60's, with low wind, and not a cloud in the sky. I didn't recharge it yet. While setting up I called Darryl at Skout and explained what had happened last Friday. He suggested upping the dwell between 23 and 28.
But first I wanted to see what would happen shooting the gun without any changes. The gun worked fine??!! Nevertheless after that I set the dwell to 28 for this shooting session but the EVO was shooting higher velocity at mid to high 840's so I decided I'd experiment with the regs again. I brought the LRP up to 155 psi and brought the HPR down a tad to achieve the 829 ave velocity which took a while turning each one to what seemed a good balance between the two. I can't tell if it shoots any better or worse than before but I didn't have any problems??
Once I rezero'd bringing it up .1 mil at 34Y I shot 3 shots in the KZ, went to 45Y and shot 3, went to 64Y and shot 3 more and all those landed in the 1.25" KZ. Repainted, went to 72Y, with the wind picking up, and finishing off what was left in the mag, missing some and hitting some. As you can see the vertical isn't too shabby for off a tripod.
But I'm glad I didn't have to send the gun back.
The low shot that didn't get painted well was from last Friday when I was trying to figure out where the wind was pushing the slugs to. It seems that with a 5 mph left to right quartering wind the down range wind isn't doing what my wind estimation of hold off thinks it should be so I hit left anyway. I need to put some wind flags out and see what up. Even so I would have missed only once on a 2.5" KZ.
Now to start practicing off the bipod that I use for FT.
I changed the scope to a 2nd Gen Vector Continental 5-30x56 because the Meopta Optika 6 doesn't parallax focus below 25Y and thought I'd be fine but NOPE. Man the IQ leaves a lot to be desired in the Vector compared to the Meopta so I'm going to change over to a higher end scope instead. Might just go for it and put my March Genesis 4-40x52 on the EVO because it'll add more weight to steady the gun, and the IQ is awesome, plus no concern for running out of elevation travel at ELR distances.

Latest update.
I gave 101y a try today with the BR set up as shown and first time off a bipod. Man I like MLOK rail interface which I also hadn't tried before.
The larger groups were with the dwell set at 28 and the smaller with dwell set at 25. Adjusting the dwell does make a obvious difference.

Ha, I just noticed I had the bipod on backwards. Imagine what this gun could do if the bipod was on correctly, lol, jk.

Nice shooting. Looks like you’re getting it dialed in very well. I think putting the bipod on correctly will cut those groups in half

Very nice shots at 101 yards!
i was able to hit the range and did some slug shooting at 100 at my indoor range
the targets are standard EBR targets
I dialed in a shooting recipie and had some fun
the first settings were a bit inconsistent, and i got an occasional shot to the outer rings for no reason(grrrr)
from the worst of the session
to the last targets of the session
Need some more fine tuning to be done in the next 2 weeks, but then this happen
I called up Joe at Top Gun and they are sending me out another one under warranty..that was nice to hear!
Don't have enough air for more slug shooting..ugh
Hopefully, it will just take a day for the new gauge

That last group was pretty good! I forgot which slugs were you using and at what velocity?

Mike, Bill doesn’t mention it on the vid but does this service procedure require the gun and the action be drained of all air? Also, what is the service interval? Once a year? After so many shots?
My gun actually did the burp thing twice today while target shooting

There was not any mention of doing this while having the rifle depleted of air.
I did not.
I just removed the grip assembly from the rifle
there should not be any air leaking while this is performed
edit; For interval...i am guessing once a year ??? No one mentioned what the tell-tale signs might be for when it is required

Chatted with bill earlier today before I performed the service, and he suggested at least once a year to perform this solenoid service maintenance.
Thanks for posting the link, Mike, as I or most anyone wouldn’t have known the solenoid is a serviceable part.
My epoch is firing on all four cylinders. In preparation for Oregon my sight in at 50 with five shots and zero stop set-
This morning I shot out to a hundred and got a similar group with 8 shots but just on the right of the 10 ring. Unsure if the solenoid service helped, cause these skout guns just shoot, man, they can shoot.
