N/A EVOL vs Epic two

I’ve been watching the Epic two videos and reviews and something jumped out at me. Is this rifle a copy or possibly a euro version of the EVOL? I recently acquired a Paradigm and have had it apart to have a look at the workings. There are quite a few similarities and a few differences. Of course every rifle has some similarities and there will always be some changes between them. Now I’m wondering if some of the parts would be interchangeable, like the balanced valve, barrels, magazines, air cylinder and possibly the stock.
From what I’ve seen there’s really no difference in accuracy, is the Epic Two the EVOL killer?

I’ve had both. The epic is more slug friendly. My humble assertion is the epic 2 is a cross of an Evol and a taipan veteran. That’s the way It feels to me. To answer the structural differences. My friend Steve has a tear down video on the epic 2 on YouTube, the channel is “Air velocity sport”. That should answer any questions.

That’s the video I watched that lead me to the conclusion that these two rifles are indeed more similar than not. Great vid.

If I were a betting man, the TWO was designed after taking an EVOL apart. There are certainly some improvements. @slayer what’s your take on it.

There is a cosmetic similarity between a 6061 receiver and a 7075 one. When Epic makes the jump to 7075, then it will really be epic.
You inspired me to look up the difference and it seems for the applications the Epic 2 would be put to? A 6061 receiver is more than adequate…🙏 That said, I really like the look of the Epic 2.

Watched another few videos. They both seem to suffer from the same magazine issues. I would venture to say it has less to do with the magazines and more to do with the length of the pellet probe. As the pellets are leaving the magazine into the barrel, there little to no bore side part of the probe stopping the magazine from indexing.

To fix this , I’m using the MRD’s deep base. They shoot very well.

We had quite a LARGE thread on this when the Epic first came out. I believe it was shut down and people were talked to about it. So tread lightly ;)

When I had my Paradigm I was trying to get an Epic when they first came out, but they were unavailable and I couldn't get one.
I wasn’t aware of this. Either way. I’m still left wondering if any of the parts are interchangeable.

What was discussed, why the secrets?

The balanced valve is a definite downside to me as a hunter. Have heard of stiction issues with them so a no go for me. Don't like that it was essentially ripped off in some ways not only the Evol but Edgun with the reg. The Epic1 is something I'd be interested in though if it didn't have slow first shots.

We were talking about all the similarities between the Evol line, the Leshiy 2 regulator and a few other things. But we were told to stop and I believe the thread was locked down.
I don't see the point in why you can't discuss how something is made, even if it's identical, if there's no patent for it, nonsense.

Rip off is rip off, regardless of patent. Imitation may be flattering, but if you have put your blood sweat and lifesaving into it, I am sure it feels more like a rip off than flattery. But if you want to give your money to these people, its yours to give. But dont complain about bad behaviour if you‘re supporting it with your own money

Because it went off the rails quick as the thread started before the rifle was out. I know myself, personally, was calling out Epic for blatantly copying the Evol line. And there were a few others as well. And that is when things went off the rails quickly.

I have heard that the barrels are interchangeable between the two rifles.

The point is, that for the price you are paying for both of them, one receiver is almost twice as strong as the other. If push comes to shove, who in their right mind would choose 6061 over 7075 if you had a choice at all? Not me. Buy what you like, and what's good enough for you, but if you want to buy the best, then do that.

With all due respect @PumaCarl, whether 6061 or 7075 the Epic 2 is sweet. Was just checking out their website, it seems to be a very nice addition to the PCP world.
