N/A .177 for slugs (primarily at least)?!

I wonder if the U3 hammer is compatible in the U2. Although I assume you'd likely have to swap both hammer and valve.

But I will update today!
The U3 hammer seems longer, so yeah, valve would have to be changed as well. Other then that the mechanics look pretty identical, didn’t measure though.

So whenever I pick the cal for a new rifle, I don’t even consider .177. I mean, there is whole countries out there being sad about the fact that that’s what they’re stuck with… I’ve got plenty of space to plink so why cripple myself (or so I thought… :)).

Yet, I find myself thinking about a .177 more and more due to “some” people’s influence (not looking at anyone in particular @JaceSpace1369 @RabbitofCaerbannog)… I am almost caving in so maybe talk me out of it? If you want to talk me (even deeper) into it that’s fine as well, ideally with a recommendation for a rifle in this case :) Since it’ll be an experiment of sorts for me I’d probably want to get a used medium tier one first to see how I like it, should shoot slugs though since I’d like to use it for small critters (besides plinking)… Thanks in advance!
The only absolute possible drawback to .177 is handling /loading with old fat fingers .
I only shoot .177 , 80 years old this sept .

Not yet! It’s on the list of experiments to run though :)
Make sure to polish the ends of the hammer springs whether that's before or after you cut them. Apparently that helps the spring set it self correctly much faster aiding in consistency.

The parts I got were made extremely well, but for some reason I'm still getting a ping. So I will have to see if there something else that nosie is coming from. My gun should have a depinger inside the plenum but I don't know if it does or not.

My friend got a couple of multishot SP springers in for repair / trouble shooting, now i am getting old but damn these was hard to charge.
So my amazement was BIG when at 15 M they could barely make a hole in a piece of corrugated card box " paper"

On my chrono i had to go all the way down to bow / airsoft to get a speed measurement shooting 10 gr pellets

Have no idea what the issue is though, rifles like brand new ones, sound powerful but i would rather flick boogers for hitting power.

Always polish most moving metal on metal parts when I get a gun, incl. springs :) I actually never tried to compare before and after since there is no “before”, I normally go over them immediately when I get them to make sure everything is right and tight… maybe I’ll swap to one of the springs before polishing to see what happens…

So I decided to increase the regulator by about 1/5th of a turn. It's likely at 160-165b on the U2 .177 600mm and this is my 6 shot string shooting 20gr griffin slugs 😬😬😬

It was only 6 shots, as I didn't want to use all the ammo I had left on me in the vehicle, and I only have one more magazine left of it. I have the other three tins at the house

How often do you find yourself cleaning the barrel shooting slugs? I was having to clean the barrel every 1-2 fills (70-150 shot) shoot 16gr at 970fps 36fpe. I now have my U2 .177 shooting 20gr at 985fps avg so I can only assume I'm gonna get WAAAY more fouling

About right or even more often ....
My high power "Sluggers" being bottle guns will do between 70 and 100 shots ... so, I pull threw a couple times a brushless Bore snake at ever refill & that has worked well.

Depends on the gun. With the Katran i'm getting a surprisingly large number of shots before the groups open. the p35x i clean every 75-100. or the moment i get an opening in the group. the dreamline I cleaned once per fill. the Zelos every 100.
the DRS with superior 150, slug 60. the .25 Superior same.

edit: Dude, I am losing it. I thought this was in our PM discussion. I wondered why @Motorhead's post was there. I think I may have picked up an extra chromosome en route to work today.

Which brushless bore snake do you have? I'm usually having to pull like 5 double patches using both side to get the barrel not to dirty. I thought about polishing as I haven't yet, but I don't want to end up ruining the barrel

HOPPES snakes for the specific caliber. Most come with brushes that are semi-easily removed. some are available w/o brushes tho a tad harder to find.
Trick is the snakes are Radially SNUG !! doing a full contact high bore tension scrub while pulling threw. When fit is right and bore is getting clean they can & will squeal as drawn threw ... perfect !!!

Damn you clean the zelos every 100 shots? My buddies hasn't been cleaned in like a month or 2 and it's been a popping iggy skulls without skipping a beat.

If I'm shooting pellets, I never clean the barrel unless I switch to a different pellet.

The hybrids left very little behind. The Javelins definitely did. Just a force of habit.

Thank you!
I wasn't asked, but, when you linked the Bore rope with the rubber balls inside, the .22 was out of stock. Ended up buying brushless, soft core OTIS ripcord in .22. Wouldve been great, but, those damn Brass tips on either end are too long and don't allow for use in airguns, Can't fit in to be inserted into the breech.

The small things you can overlook. I should've seen that from a mile off.

Nice! I just found this on Hoppes. Specific for .177 airguns no brush
