A couple questions come to mind. What does the plenum regulator show for pressure? What does the bottle/fill regulator show for pressure? It is my understanding that the gun in fact cocks when the bolt is used and because you hear a clang after pulling the trigger.

Sounds to me like the trigger needs adjusting. There isn't a bolt hold open feature. That or something broke in the trigger's design and setup.

I would order a new screw and the little block it is threaded to as they both appear beat up in your picture. Then I would disassemble it and reinstall. You may need to pull the barrel and top rails to access the little grub screw.

It would seem the pressure surrounding the barrel would prevent any flexing from occurring, especially if it was incorporated through the reservoir. I don't know how or if it effects barrel harmonics.

May have bent the little pin on the cocking block. With it only happening once you are likely ok. I would cycle some rounds through it correctly.
