Suggestions for becomming a better shooter.

Bone support vs muscle support as much as possible with your shooting position. Find and get settled into position so your natural point of aim is on target.

    HW95 12ftlb

I put a Vortek 12fpe kit in my Beeman R9 (aka HW95) with the Vortek seal. About 30% smaller standard deviations and extreme spreads on the balistic performance. With the spring as supplied its actually a 12.5-13fpe output until you get up to heavier pellets (9gr+) then you're down below 12fpe...

220 volt vs 115 volt HPA Compressor

If you have an electric dryer in your home it's likely on a 30 amp 220v circuit. Assuming your compressor is no more than 30 amp, wire a NEMA 10-30P plug to your compressor power cord and you should be good to go with using the current dryer receptacle. No new wiring required.

Soda Bottle to 1/2 UNF adapter STL file for 3d printing

That is cool:cool: Does it work better if you put a small amount of water in first and carefully level it to shoot? If the air discharge energy disrupts the water rather than slapping the side of the bottle it seems it would dissipate energy more effectively.

My Rocket Challenges Your Fastest Projectile! Even Some of Your PB's!

(Hold my beer while I warm up my slide rule...) What is the weight of the person slugged by Chuck? How far does away does he land?

My Rocket Challenges Your Fastest Projectile! Even Some of Your PB's!

Well let's look at the force on a typical pellet while accelerating. One G is a force equal to the weight of a pellet. A 7.9gr CPHP x 9460 G acceleration = 74,734 gr force/7,000 gr/pound = 10.7 pounds accelerating force. Given that a pellet is metal and confined in a barrel it won't squish...

My Rocket Challenges Your Fastest Projectile! Even Some of Your PB's!

    The equation you need is a=(1/2 x V^2)/s Where a= acceleration in ft/sec^2 V = muzzle velocity (feet/sec) s = barrel length (feet) Example:. my R9 with a 16 inch barrel has a MV of 900 fps with a certain pellet a = (1/2 x 900 x 900) / 1.333 feet = 304,510 ft/sec^2 or 9,460 g's Hope this helps

    HW95/R9 Piston seal

OK, back again with further bumbling to report but hopefully found the source of contact of the rubbing while cocking. Taking the breech out I really messed it up Why? Like a jerk I forgot to back out the recoil stop pin from the scope mount, scratched the hell out of the breech. As soon as I...

    HW95/R9 Piston seal

OK, I see what you did with the radius. I'll give it a try. Worse case I'll remove the spring guide.

Without the spring guide is it still a smooth "thump" shot cycle?

    HW95/R9 Piston seal

Mine doesn't look anywhere near as scored as that at this point. I'm thinking about grinding a fraction of a millimeter or so from the bottom of the cocking shoe to see if that provides clearance. There is not a lot of resistance when cocking the gun, removing a small amount of metal from the...

    HW95/R9 Piston seal

Been away from this thread I started for a bit. Wow those are some pretty messed up seals in some photos. I cleaned out the compression tube thoroughly. Was no damage to the Vortek seal after two massive detonations. No further detonation or noticable dieseling. Just a nice crisp thump when...
