You get what you pay for. In the air gun world it is the best to save your money and buy once cry once. If you buy something that is relatively inexpensive and ends up not meeting your needs, you will cry several times before you reach air gun Nirvana.

For what you are describing as targets, A .22 in any of the rifles recommended will more than get the job done. If you are set at .25, remember ammo is more expensive vs. .22. For small game a JSB .22 in 18 gr will take down anything from a field mouse to a groundhog. JMHO. You buy what you like.

My Sidewinder Compact came with a zero DB moderator and yours looks like that. The reason for the Loctite is that it will loosen after firing a couple of mags on auto. AoA did not put the moderator on mine, the factory did.

just picked up an Athlon from optics planet for $378. They had them in stock and I will see how it compares to my other cronies. I do not have a Garmin but for the price the Athlon seems the better option.

I get mine at estate sales. Just picked up a great set of Nikons made in Japan around 1970. They were like new with case and all. Cost me $5. Highly recommend them for great deals on quality made optics. Even see an occasional airgun.
