Nice to see you are retiring Jim. I couldn't have done your job the last 3 years. I am still shooting ground squirrels around La Mesa. There is a dairy there that has a bird problem also. Although I have been taking care of that problem with a win model 42 instead of the Fxs.

I shoot 25 grain H&N slugs in my wildcat compact. Why, well 25 grains hollowpoints shoot well. I haven't found a solid light enough to shoot out of the wildcat well.

Just join them. Same with vampires, what's not to like. Never age and never die. Seems like more time to shoot to me.

Don't have a picture, so didn't happen. But, first shot with 17 cal Dream Tac was dead center with 8,4 gr Fx pellet. Then upped the power and moved the scope up 1.6 mil. Put a 12.5 gr Nielsen close to center. Then back down with power and scope back 1.6 mil. 8.4 grain pellet was off 2 inches...

The Maverick is heavier than the Wildcat and both are basically the same gun. I have a Maverick compact in .25 and Wildcat compact in .22. The Maverick hmmm. The Wildcat yea.

The wind died for a couple of hours today and I finally had a chance to test a sampler pack. Here are the results at 30 yards. If you will click on the image you will notice most of the fliers are actually an ink aim point. I may have finally found a slug this Wildcat compact likes. One question...

Where he is now, he has had 9 days of 20 to 40 mph winds. Not much airgun shooting going on in those conditions. I am about 50 miles from him and the forecast is another 1.5 weeks of the same winds.

I believe he is just out of El Paso. Or at least he was. No fires there.

My experience...... My Maverick Compact .25 will shoot 1 moa at 50 yards. 29.5 .249 NSA slugs all day. It opens up to 1.5 moa at 100 yards. Maverick has the superior heavy liner. Now, it might shoot 1 moa, but, I can't shoot 1 moa with it. And I shoot it off a rest, it could be me, or it could...

You need the heavier hammer. You converted your .25 compact to a .22. It should have had the heavier hammer anyway.
