N/A Which of your airguns would you choose for a 60yd target for only one shot?

Not that I doubt your marksmanship, but if a crippled critter dies under your shed, you'll have a hell of a stink for a while. I know nothing about skunks. Is there a way to trap one without a 100% chance of getting sprayed?

Tuning ES, tell me if I'm wrong ... did I miss something?

Don't get caught up in analysis paralysis. Test your rifle and pellets at the distance at which you compete. Some will shoot much better than the ES suggests, others may be lousy, but with exemplary numbers. ES becomes important at the extreme distance of a rifle/pellet combination. That is...

    Resources N50 Rules Updated, again

i don't shoot N50, but I've been involved in quite a few shooting sports, including BR. The disciplines that became "rules heavy" did not fare well. As a casual observer, I would encourage simplicity. If you try to make a place for everyone that owns any RF or air rifle, it might get bogged down...

New Forum Member - Air Rifle choice suggestions

I'm not sure that your expectations are realistic. If $150 is the budget, I think you will need to buy a rifle with iron sights. Scope and rifle combo for $150 will not be something of satisfaction.

N/A Looking for a compact .22 PCP for woods walking

That doesn't look much different than my neck of the woods. It's important to carry the rifle with which you have the most comfort and confidence.

If length is critical to you, so be it, but it's something I've never understood. Unless you're crawling through briar thickets, what does it really matter? Example, my Taipan Veteran meets your length criteria. But, I'd much rather carry my lighter and longer Revere. For me, short, boxy...

IMO, if you have fouling that a standard pull-through does not remove, then it's time for a traditional barrel cleaning.

Another of those... please help me decide on a air rifle.

I have an HW97, and it's a high quality springer. Can't remember the last time I shot it. IMO, the PCP's accuracy and ease of follow-up shots takes the springer out of consideration. If I were dealing with a group of pigeons or starlings, I'd be fumbling with pellets and cocking the thing while...

Generally, extreme temp variation is a key reason to implement a free floating barrel design. Seems kind of puzzling to me.

Taipan Baptized the new Taipan Vet 2 today

There's your answer. I don't know why they include the band, given the construction design of the rifle. Maybe other owners have had favorable results with it. Or, given the design of the Vet 1, maybe they assumed that some owners would want some type of forward support. Two very different...

The primary purpose of free floating is to remove points of potential binding or changes with temperature, etc. That said, given this design, I doubt that you would see any affect on accuracy with the band, assuming it fits with no uneven pressure.

    Need a lightweight target rifle

Well, lightweight target rifle may be an oxymoron. If you need aperture sights, look at the 10 meter Olympic rifles.

I have been officially shut down!

It's not that they judge the power. It's that the increasing power levels have put the rifles much more in the public eye, and their usage continues to exceed the traditional air gun limits. So, they are used more for pest elimination in urban settings where they are visible. And yes, the...

I'm having difficulty comparing that image to the photo here. Since the screw you reference appears to adjust a spring, I believe it is the second stage tension screw. And since you turned it a couple of complete turns, it is obviously not an engagement setting. If it worked, fine. Generally...
