I've had hawks make off with my squirrels a few times. One time I shot a squirrel in the back yard, laid my rifle down and looked back at the squirrel and there was hawk setting on him. That hawk was fast as he must have been circling waiting for the opportunity.

Got another one yesterday, my total is up to four for the year. Big old boar male grey squirrel, he must have just moved in as I had not seen this one before.
