    PCP then springer?

Life is too short to compromise, so I didn’t waste time and just got well-reviewed springers like the Diana 54 and the Weihrauch HW97. And I’m not disappointed.

Other Hand Made 1911 PCP Pistol (Tequila GUN) Video Review

This, and some good oil on the lever’s action. Fantastic one-off pistol that is second to none in quality. Very happy with mine, and is the only 45ACP-pattern PCP pistol out there to my knowledge.

    PCP then springer?

As a new guy myself, PCPs definitely have a much higher cost of entry with all the necessary equipment. But they are easier to shoot accurately and have multiple shot capability. Springers OTOH don’t require anything else except pellets and glass if irons aren’t present. But they do require...

How many people have more than one PCP?

Just got into this hobby like 7 months ago and already have 9 air rifles and 2 pistols; all in .22. Six are PCPs, 2 are springers and one is full auto (older SMG-22). Pistols are TequilaGun and an HW45. Working on thinning the PCP herd since I’m digging springers more given the discipline...

    Balistas?

Another plug for Ballistas. Ordered an HW97 last Tuesday evening, and would’ve arrived at my house on Friday were it not for a WX delay. Got it today instead. Packed really well and prices were the best I found. Great outfit that ships fast!! Packaging shown:

    PCP then springer?

Thanks! I’m not exactly a spring chicken myself either, BTW. I know folks have talked about learning curves to shoot springers and “recoil” (dude, there is no recoil on these!), but I’m not sure what those look or feel like. I just zeroed the Hammers glass on it, adjusted the barrel weight...

    PCP then springer?

You weren’t kidding based on the replies here. Glad to see I’m not the only one thinking that I’m likely happier with springers for all the noted reasons. I’m not getting out of pcp (especially since I now have all the ancillary equipment needed), but I will thin the pcp ranks more. Look for...

    PCP then springer?

When I discovered adult air guns over the last six months and how I could shoot in my backyard, I went all-in on PCPs for target and varmint hunting (all .22s). Once my PCP collection grew I got curious about springers. I didn’t consider them before because I thought they would be underpowered...

    Weihrauch HW97K

Just ordered a HW97 Blackline from Balistas for $426 (shipping was pricey, tho). It was either some kind of sale or closeout on the synthetics. Next cheapest was Krale at $550 or so.

    Tuning Paul Watts

Finally got around to shooting the D54 today. Threw a Hammers “springer” scope from Amazon on it so we’ll see how long it lasts. Ended up adding 4 gaskets behind the barrel weight for harmonics control/accuracy. The trigger is good; lots of take up but breaks fairly cleanly. I really enjoyed...

    Tank enclosure…

Found a piece of 9” diameter ductile iron scrap about 2’ tall @ 40 lbs, so decided to make an enclosure I can place my HPA bottles in while filling. The tank shown is a 9L, 7.5” diameter. Good idea or supremely stupid due to bomb effect? If it’s the latter I’m out less than $10, so no big deal.

Ya, was looking at quite a number of springers before settling on the 54, like HW97, D48, etc. But each of my pieces has a purpose, and for me that’s being powerful enough to ethically dispatch small varmints on the property.

I ordered a Diana 54 from Huma that will be here Monday. This is my first springer (started with PCP but I like the idea of a still powerful, self-contained air rifle), so I don’t know what I don’t know with springers.
