    Mini Lathe for Small Parts?

The issue with some of the Vevor's is due to their cost cutting, they have engineered in some custom parts. That might be ok, if they sold spare parts, but for the most part they don't, especially the electronics. On the machinist board that I frequent, about 30%, give or take, have...

    Slug dies .22

What is the exact diameter of the slug? 0.xxxx" or 5.xxx mm? Is it truly 5.500mm? 5.5mm is only 0.2165", my 0.22 GK1 needs about 0.2200" or 5.588mm not to be loose.

    .22 LR vs .22 slug

@357cal said: May I ask why are you comparing a 457 slug to .22? is that a comparison of that of a .22 rimfire? I'm only saying you can cast both of them. I didn't bring up 457s, someone else did. A 457 cleans the clock (power wise) of a 22... LR or air slug.

    .22 LR vs .22 slug

So what. You can recover the lead, re-melt and cast again. If you miss a lot, well, that's a different story...

    .22 LR vs .22 slug

What if you cast the 457's? If I was shooting 457 I'd be casting them... I cast 22's as well. Pretty easy.

    .22 LR vs .22 slug

I have no dog in the fight. I think you may have missed JimD's point. In general what propels the projectile doesn't matter. However, that assumes a uniformity in the propellant, which you are pointing out matters a lot to competitive shooters. If you look from 10000 ft it doesn't matter...

    .22 LR vs .22 slug

^^^ What he said. Phone apps do not check to see if they overload the front end. Once that happens, you can't compare results because your data is clipped. Clipped data means the information has been removed from the signal. This means you don't know how loud it is anymore, because the...

    DonnyFl Clipping issues

It seems that a lot of people think things are made perfectly, be they barrels, shrouds, airguns, or moderators. Sadly, they aren't. Some could be, but manufacturers take shortcuts to reduce cost. It is an exceptional barrel that is perfectly centered on both ends. Why? Because it's a tough...

N/A Daisy line mod 44 About Help

A printed part with pins or protrusions for advancing the cylinder is likely to fail. But I think one could instead use a metal pin as an insert to the print that would probably be strong enough, at least for a while. If this were my problem, I'd model the cylinder as best I could, using...

Supggestions wanted for a Scale for weighing pellets.

I have the second one. Mine is quite reliable, and repeatable. It comes with two 10gm calibration weights. I used it to sort through my 0.22 cal cast slugs and pellets.

N/A Daisy line mod 44 About Help

Google translate says: Hello, I have a Daisy Line model 44 CO2 air rifle. However, he lost his teeth because the bullet housing was made of plastic. I want to print this myself with a 3D printer, but I can't take measurements because I don't have any solid parts. If so, can you help me measure...

What did you order / receive airgun related today? Thread

This seems to be the way with USPS now. USPS misplaced a package for 13 days. But the package had been mailed several days earlier. I could not file a claim as the recipient. Only the shipper (after 15 days). After the claim was made by the shipper, miraculously the package showed up in the...

What did you order / receive airgun related today? Thread

Received a 45 lb box of lead from UPS, a half pig of it. Pretty heavy! It will keep me casting a long time. Have two molds, a 17gr wad cutter and 28gr slug in 22. Both work great, but the wad cutters are much harder to cast, simply because the mold keeps cooling off quicker.

    Bulk probe buy 7mm/Artemis Snowpeak/GK1

So the probe arrived today. Only 8 days from ordering to receipt, which is very good. It's as described, and it probably is fine, but it's different enough that I did a few calculations on it to see if I'm substantially increasing my risk by using it. The one I received had a 3.54mm air hole...

    Huben Huben GK1 V3-R Build

Think I need a different approach for my Picatinny rail. I removed the OEM "shroud" since it's non functional and made a functional CF shroud. So there's no shroud dovetail to hook onto. Probably have to modify the GK1. (Drill and tap a hole.) Have to investigate a good (safe) spot to drill.
