Another Impact upgrade I MUST have.......doh!

I would not go there.

And if there is a flex problems in impact, or any other FX gun, then FX are the ones that should fix it in the next revision, but as the impact are at version #3 now i cant imagine a company lettings such paramount things slide.

Regarding the emerging fab of attaching a bi pod on the top of the "barrel", well i am not going there either, hell i am still using a cheap airsoft toypod.

I sort of get the free hanging gun / pendulum, but i assume as the shooter "lean" into it to shoot, things could cant any direction still, and yes i do know you can lock the articulation, but that is nothing to me even on a conventional bi pod.

PS: I never had flashy wheels on any car,,,,, anything flashy really, perhaps if i was able to buy a dream car, but my dreams are lofty so i will probably never get there, and i sure as hell is not going to buy something lesser and mod it to try and make it look like my dream,,,,, that i leave to the fast and furry boys.

It will also be hard to get a old Land rover, and modify it to look like a 12 ton Marauder or similar APC ,,,,,, which are the vehicles i dream about,,,, at least for a daily driver.

Another option is all it is for impacts. I do like the saber tactical top rail. They make a compact version also.

Now that one new backbone has been made, I'm guessing other companies will offer a similar option.

I'm actually hoping Saber Tactical would make one before the one I preordered ships, the front end is rather ugly but nice and rigid.

K&L has one.

Hardy customs has one.

Hah! Even Air Marksman has one!

The Airmarksman is the one in question. The others don't connect the breech so not the same.

If I get a impact???, which I am seriously considering (I know, I know) I will buy the the rigid one piece upper rail and machine off the extra length, I think it is a good idea, and I will buy a arca rail for underneath. And still have money left over for pellets etc. vs. the expense of a RedWolf, Delta or Alpha wolf.

With all the extra upgrades you are not only still cheaper than the wolf guns but a good amount more power too. I currently shoot 69.9 FPE with EASE, tuned mine with 700mm barrel to shoot 34.9 grain slugs at 950 fps and I can shoot them at 1030 fps if I crank the HS wheel to max(preload not fully maxed out yet even) but not as accurate or need a lot more fine tuning BUT I like to stay in the comfortable speed range plus stay at March 0.8 at my elevation of 1000 feet for best accuracy. This is with factory return spring still installed! With the factory valve return spring I can fine tune the gun with just little twist of finger tips, just awesome. The Impact is a BRUTE in power yet refined while being a big boy Lego set, I simply can’t ask for more in a toy.

I have seen Redwolf and delta wolf with quite a few extra upgrade too, no gun is perfect fit for everyone and some of us can’t leave a good thing alone no matter what!

The saber tactical does connect to the barrel up front, but you can make that for any of the above rails. And it's available now. Even straight from saber tactical.

Or just custom make LW barrel to fit. It doesn't get much more solid (or heavy) than that.

It's funny because when you pick up the impact at the store with nothing on it, it's really light, then we put all this stuff on it to "make it better" 😆

Allen.

I recently stripped two Impacts down when I sold them. They were so light and handled nice. Thought to myself, what the heck is wrong with me, I turn all my guns into porkers. But it does help when sending heavy stuff fast. I have a TJ barrel on my one Impact and that is a serious difference in weight. Its a tank now.

Isn't that all part of the fun?

yes, that was my point that impact “needs” vs some guns don’t need “upgrades” is not really accurate. All of them are accurate and shoot well out of box and don’t “need” upgrades, but we want them to do things that’s not out of box so we “have to” upgrade them say our little brains.

I have said many time an impact out of box is a MOA gun even with lighter slugs ALL DAY LONG! But sending 23 grain to 100 yards out of box vs sending 35-43 grain slugs out to 300 yards which isn’t out of box is a little different. The fact I can do that with minimum upgrades(liner and slug kit) is just amazing still, the rest of upgrades is my want more so than need.

Are we even sure the hold sensitivity is due to flex, and not just recoil and barrel-time of the projectile? My .30 at 92fpe has noticeable recoil movement. Slick bipod ski feet are on my list of things to experiment with.

I think so, I’ve spent good amount of time at the 300 yards range trying different hold and recoil manage styles. I’ve gotten my recoil management well enough to watch my center dot jump less than 1-2 mils after the shot. I do see the POI consistently shift at 300 yards if consistently applies different cheek, shoulder and grip pressure, the ST bag rider helped a little. Same distance with my ST crown has been much more consistent and practically zero hold sensitivity so I just have to door the wind, the ST crown is so much easier to be consistently more accurate. BUT the crown’s power is limited and it can’t quite be fine tuned like an impact with the valve return spring so if the new upgrade get rid of most of the hold sensitivity the impact will be amazing at long range. Will see when it gets here and when I take it to the 500 yard silhouette range with the rim fire guys, it’s already really good if I’m on top of the keeping hold consistent but that’s not easy to do with little margin for error.

It wasn’t so obviously obvious because it took 5 plus years for someone to make a stiffer “backbone” upgrade. The gun shoots more fine in most situations including out to 200 yards if not pushed this hard, it’s one of those way out of box use case which an upgrade in chassis stiffness is nice to have but still not “require” outside my mind.

Over a year ago I was knocking stuff like water bottle with ease at 150+ yards with 23 grain slugs and didn’t realize I needed anything more than the factory Impact, what I’m doing now is a little different compared to a year ago. LOL!

Can't quite grasp this assumed "Trickness" with such air rifles when in reality there mostly Band-aids for nagging issues ???

Huh ....

Not looking to get into a pissing contest ... The obviousness off this is just too ... Lol, Well Obvious

Well you have a hard time grasping the difference between there, their and they're so that's alright.
