Banned Words

I don’t really get the hiding of the evil bad words, we’re all adults and even if we weren’t no one’s gonna get hurt by reading a curse word. With the way TV and everything online is, there’s no way anyone gets through a day without reading or hearing one of these. Saying that I really don’t care either way.

BUT
I have a request to remove one if that’s possible. On any type of gun forum cock (The act of pulling the bolt to the rear until it locks the hammer back. Also seen as cocking which is not on the naughty list or cocked which may be on the naughty list, I’ll know when I post this lol.) is a very commonly used word, and I don’t think it’s gonna be used as a dangerous word here! I could be wrong and AGN has a meltdown though.

I disagree, just because the TV industry has no morals that should not be the "standard" for the rest of our nation and our great Forum Community. It is not hard for me to express myself "plainly" without the need for foul langue.

Be safe and have a great day,

I am a firm believer in full blown unadulterated freedom of speech, and fortunately we Danes enjoy that.
So if you want to, you can go on live national TV and spew out every foul Danish or English word you can think off, I dont even thing any Tv / radio station here own what ever make that damn beep.
But mind you racism will not get tolerated, racism will probably not be beeped but you will probably get nailed on that in court afterwards.
So in essence we also have the right to make a fool of yourself in public supported by law.

I also respect that people can set up their site or whatever as they choose.
And even if i am a atheist, well if you invited me to a meal in your house, and you do the god thing before a meal, i will respect you too, at the very least to the level i want to be respected myself, and i do not want to be disrespected just cuz i find all gods and the praise of them silly.
So we respectfully just have to disagree on that.

The automated censorship on internet fora / sites some times get a bit silly, so for instance the name of the place from where pilots do their job, well as it have part of the name being the same as a word for the male genitalia, well it is censored.
Okay it dont get me aggravated if anything it make me giggle. :D And i must giggle on the internet as often as possible.

You can also call me anything you like, but be advised that if you do so to my face, and it challenge my perception of myself, you will politely be asked to elaborate.

That's right. When I was a boy I used to think profanity was a masculine thing but now I know it's a sign of weakness. A sign of poor character. If you desire respect keep a clean mouth. And you won't sound like an idiot. Be strong.
Grow in grace so you don't have to groan in disgrace.

Whether you like it or not we have all used bad language BUT it is not necessary and is in poor taste and does not belong here. If you are not articulate enough to get your point across without it you should get someone else to write your posts for you. I personally will not respond to posts using "rough" language and do not listen to podcasts using it either. I get free speech but I also get poor taste when I see it!

Just to be clear I wasn’t trying to make a case to allow profanity, I really couldn’t give two poops one way or the other lol! I just wanted to be able to say cock on the airgun forum!!!
I work in a steel shop with all men so I’m in a very profane world and I use the words when necessary. To me they’re another part of my vocabulary and I keep them out when I’m in company that it’s not appropriate to use cuss words around. Sometimes though one of those four letter words just works, I like using them to show levels of emotion.

Like any kind of writing, any kind of speech can range from artful to disgusting, to repiulsive; as largely interpreted by the reader or listener. And as demonstrated above, profanity is no different.

Being a life-long Native Texan (capital N intended; not an error), many of Us are artful cussers. The most artful are almost invariably also astute students of Humanity; well aware that our speech be tailored to our audience(s).

Artfully-placed profanity can be entertaining, humorous, exclamatory, insulting, or downright repulsive. The artful cusser uses profanity purposely, as an asset, tool, or weapon, depending on who he is (purposely) entertaining, insulting, or repelling.

Personally, I find butchery of written language more repulsive than cursing butchery. However both kinds of language butchery speak volumes about the butcher's intelligence, or lack of.

Just my opinion, but I feel anyone prejudiced against artful cussers is little different than anyone prejudiced against people that speak with an accent; both being products of their environments. That being said, I confess to prejudice against written language butchers. So much so that I won't even consider buying from the worst butchers.

By the way, a recent study found cussing can also be therapeutic! Like when you hit your thumb with a hammer, cussing is a valuable outlet/relief-valve for physical and mental trauma.
