Any woodworkers? I need some help.

Look a the picture below and notice the top TX200…it looks pretty cool and I was wondering if I could do the same for my TX200. How would I go about it? My stock is pictured as well.

With enough sanding and paint/staining you could definitely make yours have more character but the one above is a figured piece of (guessing) walnut. That wood is rare and absolutely stunning. Yours is likely beech. Not to say yours could not be dressed up but that figuring is in the wood, not a finish. Sorry to disappoint.

Ammonia fuming will give you a permanent dark even color. Along with the tiger striping it should be pretty sweet. Watch a bunch of videos On the fuming process because caution should be observed.

The procedure you choose should depend on the result you want. This Beech stock I just did. It’s a HW30 stock that was just covered in a colored spray stain, checkering and all. Very muddy. I used an oxidation process along with stain. Be very careful around the fish scale checkering. Try to strip the clear coat away from there first about 2” around. Then let dry day tape off before stripping the rest. Keep the stripper out of the checkering. This done well requires patients.
