.25 Caliber PCP rifle

Still on the fence on which .25 to buy for my next PCP. Staying under 500 if possible and must be Hand pump friendly. Looking for more on the JTS Airacuda standard. How accurately will it shoot slugs and what has been the average fps you guys have actually been able to get out of it? Please feel free to mention other Air Rifles in same category. Know about the Origin a little and the AEA rifles. Thanks in advance.

I had both the MAX and the Srandards .25s in for several months now,

Not a single problem, very nice guns overall.

the Standard stock maxed out ay 49 FPE with the Baracuda but I hear that with a bit extra Hammer weight it get get in the 60 FPE range.

The MAX without touching the regulator 140FPE maxed out at 47 FPE with the Baracuda

They did not like the slugs I have but they are really accurate with the Baracuda and Benjamins

Great triggers, really good magazines, great ergonomics, different because the guns are really different but great on boths guns.

If you have any specific question I will be happy to answer.

As a final note, in my opinion very big winners in the price range.

The Standard has a great feel with the extremely slim stock, feels like a rimfire.

The 5 point power adjuster works really well, I found the Standard to be a bit more accurate then the MAX but that might just be the 2 guns I have.

The MAX has a real, real nice steady regulator and even after several tests to see if it has any creep none showed.

Richard,
I'm a proud owner of 4 .25 PCPs and think it's a solid caliber choice. Starting over, I'd be researching the Airacuda Max, DAR (Generation 3) and the Air Venturi Avenger, in that order. The Umarex Gauntlet and Benjamin Marauder are long, heavy and still using older technology. Hatsan quality control isn't impressive, so I'd avoid. Hope this helps, WM

I have a Marauder G2 in .22 and I love but it is a long gun.
The Avenger doesn't seem Hand pump friendly. Thanks for the insight.

So would you say the 26.54 Benjamin's and the H&N FTT 19.91 might shoot well out of it then? I've bought a few different .25 pellets preparing. Lol. I do own a break .25 for funnin around.

It's funny about airguns,...you will never know what pellet/pellets they will like untill you tried them,...no matter how much you wish they would like a certain pellet :)
