I noticed that NSA offers .17 cal slugs with a BC that's 3x better than pellets. Has anyone tried them? What's an ideal speed for them? Max range for 1 MOA accuracy?
I have an old Airforce Condor that I've taken on as a project and one of things I'm considering doing is changing calibers (it's a .22 and I have lots of .22's). I haven't had much luck (accuracy wise) with .25 so I'm considering .177. Barrels and ammo are relatively cheap, so why not right?I have a few different ones for my R5M, just haven't gotten out to test them yet. Though from close distances they seem to work great. Buy a box and give them a try
The NSA site says that the 20 grain slugs did well in a "LW choked barrel". Well, that's exactly what an AF Condor has so that may be worth a go!I'd be interested to see how these do as well, the bc could be huge for being able to use a .177 on say a pigeon atop a silo
What sort of range and accuracy are you getting?I'm shooting NSA 12.5gr at 880fps out of a Hatsan Vectis and they shoot great! There's hope fore the cheapskates.
What speed are you getting your best accuracy out of your RTI with the 13gr?Been shooting .177 slugs in my Daystate rifles for almost 3 years now and performance and accuracy is very good
Also shooting slugs in my RTI Prophet Performance .177 and it is a laser with the JSB KO 13.43 gr and ZAN 13 gr
13 gr ZAN around 940 FPSWhat speed are you getting your best accuracy out of your RTI with the 13gr?
Only shot groups twice to sight in and my 50 yard group in 3-5mph winds could be covered with a nickle. I have a hanging soft seal 5" target at 120 yards that I can hit consistently. I can watch the pellet flight to it and it flys beautifully. I have never plinked at 120y with a .177 before, the .07bc changes everything. What sort of range and accuracy are you getting?
For 100 yards that's great!12.5 grain NSA shoots very nice out of FX 177 barrels with the right tune.

The 8 shot group is about 1 inch thanks to the wind or my miss reading of the wind, the 5 shot cluster is about 0.58 inches C2C. This is at a windy 100 yards.
It certainly isn’t the .22 38 grain slugs but for 177 it’s phenomenal.
