Anyone shooting .177 cal slugs?

I have a few different ones for my R5M, just haven't gotten out to test them yet. Though from close distances they seem to work great. Buy a box and give them a try
I have an old Airforce Condor that I've taken on as a project and one of things I'm considering doing is changing calibers (it's a .22 and I have lots of .22's). I haven't had much luck (accuracy wise) with .25 so I'm considering .177. Barrels and ammo are relatively cheap, so why not right? ;)

I've been doing a bit of 177 slug testing lately. I have 3 guns I've been testing with. Impact M3, RTI Priest2 and AGT Vixen. The Impact does OK with the JSB KO 13gr and Zan 13gr in the 940ish fps range. I have had the new 177 heavy barrel on order at SPAW for seems to be about 9mo so hopefully it comes in soon. I cant get the Impact to shoot anything heavier than 13gr well with any slug with its stock liner. The RTI loves the JSB 13gr and the Zan 13gr. I think the Zans do a bit better. Its sweet spot seems to be around the 940 - 960 fps range. I just started testing with the Vixen. So far its been shooting the NSA 12gr super good around 870 fps (stock settings )but I have more testing to do. I also want to bump the reg up a bit from its stock 100bar setting to get the slugs above 900fps. So far Ive tested the JSB 10 and 13gr, Zan 10, 13, 16 and 20gr, NSA 12 and 15gr. I also have a box of NSA 20gr but haven't ran them yet. I have a few tins of the H&N 16gr but haven't found them to work well at the speeds I've tested. I also have some Howlers to test so results will come in soon for those. I will start posting some pics of group sizes and speeds here! (y)

What speed are you getting your best accuracy out of your RTI with the 13gr?
13 gr ZAN around 940 FPS 🎯🙂

What sort of range and accuracy are you getting?
Only shot groups twice to sight in and my 50 yard group in 3-5mph winds could be covered with a nickle. I have a hanging soft seal 5" target at 120 yards that I can hit consistently. I can watch the pellet flight to it and it flys beautifully. I have never plinked at 120y with a .177 before, the .07bc changes everything.

12.5 grain NSA shoots very nice out of FX 177 barrels with the right tune.

The 8 shot group is about 1 inch thanks to the wind or my miss reading of the wind, the 5 shot cluster is about 0.58 inches C2C. This is at a windy 100 yards.

It certainly isn’t the .22 38 grain slugs but for 177 it’s phenomenal.

For 100 yards that's great!
