IMPACT difference

.25 here.
I made some re-machining of the air path over this last winter on multiple parts, lets call it just as - unrestricted the air flow.
The powercurve is very different now.
I may be wrong and I am speculating only the .30 and .22 air path is not the same, most likely in the Rear Block or inside Valve House.
I don't think that from a .22 you can make the Impact power shoot the .30 projectiles in the best tune, but other way around from a .30 you can still lower the power to a level you need for the tune.
Especially if somewhere in the future you may get an idea shooting slugs from the .30.

While the above sounds good on paper, it doesn't make any sense money wise !
For a company to make two or three different receivers (passage diameters / shapes) is money wasted. Make one receiver to match the largest calibers (passage diameter) and design the rest of the "required different" parts (barrel, barrel porting, regulator adjustment etc.) for the particular calibers.
Design the "least" possible differences, into the least possible parts for each caliber.

The fewer machining differences, the more money in the Bosses pocket !

Yes, this would be the ideal solution.
What I did is - enlarged the 6.5mm hole to 7.5mm in a Valve House and Rear Block, (+ Peek puppet from 7.0 to 8.3mm) and this change really unleashed the power. Swapping the Hammer weight and springs is just a bonus.
I guess this is what FX did in a new "Power Block" and the larger Plenum Kit.

Nope, no difference between 177 and 30cal Impacts! This speaks to just how amazingly flexible and tunable Impact design is! The 357 cal just comes with the heavier slug hammer AFAIK. The slug hammer can be used on any impact for any caliber, this is why Imact can be tuned to shoot just about any quality ammo with correct diameter at any power level. I’ve tuned my impact up and down, left and right more times than I can remember or count!

Not only it doesn’t make sense money wise it also doesn’t make sense quality wise, less parts to make and QC the more consistent the end product can be made in larger quantities.


FX absolutely can be customized with custom passage size for each caliber or even ammo or power!!! Just custom drill out the pellet transfer port to your desired size like a maurader! they are designed to be drilled out, that’s why it is made of brass instead of steel like everyone else!

Impacts are basically INFINITELY TUNABLE if you learn how!!!

Just add barrel kit and heavier hammer then crank up the regulator to 150 bars, fine tune and done. It is no different than tuning for slugs even in 22 cal except for being easier.

I converted my impact mk2 PP shooting 22 pellets to shooting .25 38 grain slugs @80+ FPE with just a barrel kit and hammer spacers from the slug kit, this is before the new slug kit with heavier hammer.
