My oldest springer is a pre1914 BSA improved model D

Markham Chicago model, 1887-1910.

Beeman R8

1906 "BSA Air Rifle"
followed by a 1906 Lincoln Jeffries "H the Lincoln"
OK, the Lincoln Jeffries is about a month older

I scored this Feinwerkbau 300s about a year ago. I chased it for about 6 months. This was my garbage container gun. I believe it’s a 77-78. Love the sights and shape of stock. No time to shoot it, one day. Crow

the question is , do you shoot these ? I will not own anything i'm not willing to use , just my attitude

Some I shoot, some not. I don't care what anybody thinks about it. It's nunya. LOL! Just my attitude . Cordially
BTW it took a year to find or make missing parts for the "BSA Air Rifle". Only completed it about 6 weeks ago.
Many of my BSA prewars came to me missing parts or needing repairs. I find it rewarding to return them to operational condition. Some day they'll all go on the market. Not yet.
If I die I hope my wife doesn't sell my guns for what she thinks I paid for them................

Lovely! If you know the serial that will tell the date.

The 55 retained the leather seal longer than other HW rifles. They believed it shot more smoothly, so it stayed until they finally gave up - or just used up their supply - in the late '80's or early 90's!

My oldest is a BSA "No. 1 Standard" (.177 cal) made in 1920, with the rare model 21b aperture sight. Next is a quarter-stocked Diana 27 from 1926. Both still look good, and shoot great.
