The orange square is 1/2” so I was right at MOA or so. But I just wanted those tight groups so I worked on a standard target. The bottom left target was my fluke.

There are six shots because I was planning on 10 shots and sixth shot went high right (behind caliper). Like I always say, but rarely practice "quit while you’re ahead"

Hello Ross,

I would not call that a fluke. If you are aiming and shooting at it, and you hit it, then that is your reward. However it sure is nice when you do get those tight groups

I think one of my problems is that i shoot from a park bench, and then also shoot a bit uphill, and so really getting behind the gun as i have the rear end on the shoulder or at least my fist, well it is hard to do even if i prop up my rifle on 2 X 5 boards to get it a bit higher than the seating area / height.



I had hopes i would be able to make some changes to that too this summer, as i had planned to do a mobile pellet trap on a old 5 X 5 foot trailer, and then also get to work at the actual bench in our shed, which would bring the rifle up a couple of feet at least, and make it much more easy to get behind the rifle.

BUT ! The way things are moving ahead at the moment i am having my doubts, but nothing to do but try ones best.

@Peashooter Have you ever checked out Protektor rest bags? They are very nice and help with shooting. I also have an unconventional shooting location. I bring three Protektor bags with me and they provide a solid rest. Maybe sand bags would do also but they are heavy. The protektor bags are heirloom quality and take a lot of abuse.

Ross, You hit 22 out of 24 1/2” bulls at 50 yards. Your gun is shooting very accurately, and I’m not seeing any inconsistency with this rifle. Not sure what the wind was doing when you shot these targets, but it doesn’t matter. Very solid shooting. My RAW HM1000x .22 HP is my most accurate BR gun. However, the Safari and Boss.25 are right there too.

That bottom left target is worth posting on the fridge door. That is is no fluke! Great shooting even on the first target too.

rsfrid, fantastic group there bottom left! It is very difficult to pull away and stop shooting @ an exceptional group one has going!! We are usually always trying to push the boundaries of excellence....nothing wrong with that except for the blemishes we leave (not the Rapid) on that group! LOL! Keep up the wonderful shooting.

No TBH i haven't really considered bags to shoot off, i use my toypod ( really really cheap bipod ) on my vulcan 3, and my Maverick i use with a caldwell Rock BR rest
The cheap bipod are actually working well ( i say never having tried to use a quality bipod ) but on the vulcan 3 too the attachment point are behind the bottle, and while i have tried a bottle clamp i just can not get to terms with those things.
There are options from saber tactical to move the bipod out front, but right now i am hell bend on saving towards that big Coltri compressor, and it is slow going as all i have to work off is a Danish pension.
I dont know why but i really like to have a day with 0 wind or next to that, and then clamp my guns down, to see what they do on their own VS my tired old eyes on a rickety picnic table - wooden blocks and shooting off only 50% support ( in the front )
There are 3 of those picnic tables at my friends place, but either of them we should probably sit on opposite sides of it as they are old and crumbling, and we should probably sit still as we are both +240 pounds guys.
