Mosquito net to wear?

On our last trip to Kansas last year for a prairie dog hunt they were unbelievably thick where we were. You could visibly see them in swarms. We washed our clothes in Permethrin and lathered our exposed skin in OFF!
That did the trick. I understand Lavender works well to although we’ve not tried it.
Here’s a little ditty from Consumer Reports on Permethrin.

I have used this during September-October squirrel season in Ohio
The first time I sat down and had many mosquitos on me- when I started this cell within a few mintutes I could hear the mosquitoes at a short distance, but they did not land on me once this device was working

If you're just sitting outside, the Thermacell works pretty good. Even better if you're in some kind of enclosure. I use the Thermacell during spring turkey season and the mosquitoes are bad. Works as long as you're sitting still, but not while you're moving.

I just recently ordered this from Amazon and have been using it at the gun club for about a month now. The property is right on the edge of a marsh. It seems to keeping the biting flies, mosquitoes, and gnats at bay pretty well. You can spray it on your clothes, also... which I do. For serious tick protection I spray my clothes with permethrin. It last for several washings.

If you looked at all the description you see it sprays from any position.... and it really does.

I've had good luck with L.L.Bean brand of insect repellent clothes..

In my experience, nothing works better than the highest level of DEET insect spray you can find.

I use OFF DEEP WOODS , it works amazing when I am hiking with my dogs and the squitos and deer flies are abundant.

So what I do is I take my shirt off and spray my shirt down real good front and back, wave it around in the breeze a bit, put it back on. That seems to do the trick.

IF you can find it Burt's Bees spray , lasts all day and doesn't smell or itch WORKS in FL swamp at dusk if you have ever been there .
other products leave me feeling like oily film on my skin

During my shooting sessions, I use a Thermacell. It works great. I don't use bug spray because the wife would make me take a shower immediately after I was done shooting.

If you're sitting still on a stand, Thermacel is the way to go. If you move around while hunting, it is worthless.

Ditto on Thermacell. I sit in a turkey hunting style low chair and I set the Thermacell right between my legs in front of me on the ground. Absolutely the best thing I’ve ever used.

Yep, that’s the model I use. It comes with butane cartridge and repellent card but order a refill kit too.
