Red Wolf owners

Hello, I have my Red Wolf .22 HP coming in Friday and I have a few questions.

1: What is the twist rate to the ART barrel? I can’t seam to find this info.
2: This has a couple parts to it. Has anyone added a bigger bottle to your RW? Did it change the balance of the gun a good bit? How much did it increase your shot count? Does the new bottle take the same valve? If not, what is the valve thread pitch sizes needed?
3: How many run any kind of 3d printer barrel tubers?
4: What advice or watch out for’s might you have?

I have a Red Wolf .22HP just got it back from a reseal at AoA. So I'll be shooting her this weekend.
1. I have no idea
2. Bigger Bottle? Why? 80 shots on high, 120ish on med and almost 200 on low.
3. I have the cool looking rail that AoA sells for my BiPod https://www.airgunsofarizona.com/gun-stocks-grips/prs-red-wolf-extended-arca/picitinny-rail/
4. I owned mine for a couple years before I had a chance to really start shooting her, get it out and shot it early and often.

I did not know what my shot count would be. I had AOA set up the gun to shoot RDs at 965-970fps on med and maybe light weight slugs on high and 18.13 on low. Oh man I will be really breaking the gun in the next few weeks. I’m taking it to EBR so it and I must be a little ready.

1... 1 in 17.7"
2... I put a 580 on mine and haven't noticed any difference in balance or handling. It got aroun 20 more shots. There is no valve in the bottle. It has to be drained to remove.
3... ?
4... I run 25.4 Monster RD's at 965 to 980 in all ours. We lube them with Gunzilla and the barrel needs to be cleaned around 200 rounds for highest accuracy. Chronograph it when you get it on all 3 powers. If it ever drops by 30 or more fps, it will need to be disassembled and inspected and for sure, the valve stem oring will need to be replaced. If you don't, it's not a big deal, just won't make the original power when that is worn. Because ours are competition rifles, I typically do this before any big match if I've got 2k or more shots on it since the last rebuild. The seals go way beyond that but I had one fail in the EBR FT one year and hit no long shots because the trajectory was different. I use Gunzilla and a tight patch on a rod from the breech end. I remove the breech oring first. I remove the barrel as it's only 2 screws, to clean... much easier and more effective. It uses bottle pressure to the valve, so generating high power will stress this oring.
Get some spare orings if you plan to clean it often. The breech is 5mm x 1.5mm in 70 durometer Buna(neoprene ) or 75 duometer Viton. The Viton one are tougher. Don't use 90 durometer orings here. The barrel orings are 12mm x 1mm and best with 70 durometer Buna.
I put a Heliboard in mine for ease of transition between calibers and ammo. It's not necessary, just a nice convenience for me. The 3 powers will likely be pretty hot, depending on who tuned it. Typical is 930 or so w 18.1s on low, 965 w 25.4s on mid, and 1040 or so w 25.4s on high. The 33.4s will likely run about 910 on high if it's a recent rifle. These can be tuned for just about ANYTHING but you have to have a tuner or know someone who does. There is an EXCELLENT thread by Spray1Mark on the Resources channel on this site about the tuning process.
It's a WONDERFUL rifle and congratulations on your acquisition . I'm sure you'll enjoy it.

Wow! Thank you so much for a detailed write up. The major driving force to getting a RW is to compete with it. I am so excited to do just that with it. You are the 3-4 person to say they clean their barrel at or about 200 shots. So I will test mine but probably just stick with that train of thought. What is your thoughts on one of those weed eater line bore snakes with balistol on patches?

I'm not a fan of either. There are plenty of fans , so consider just my opinion.
I like Gunzilla, as it doesn't stink and cleans better than anything else I've used.
If you can use a pull through from the breech, I consider that to be much better. I rebuilt 2 CR94 Daystates years ago that the owner shot at least 50 in the morning and afternoon and pulled a patch after each session. He had 90k through one and 105k through the other. The crowns were completely gone from the string. Since then, I use pull throughs only when it's not convenient to pull the barrel. You will rip an oring if you force a tight patch through it, so pulling the barrel means it's MUCH easier to remove and replace the oring and use a rod with jag and tight patch. Mine rarely needs even 1 click of rezeroing after that process.

A actually just picked my RW up from ups. Something does not look right with those shot counts. I am not sure if that is total or just what they took when tuning. I also don’t know if this group is at 20 yards or 100 yards. Doing the art tune they said they were going to shoot the gun at 75 and 100yards. I really hope it’s 100 yard group.

Common sense would tell me that I would not be getting more shots on HP than on low power.

I assume those "shot count" numbers reflect the number of shots in each test run, not the maximum, which they would have no reason to test.
As for barrel cleaning, I've never torn a breech seal with a pull-through, although it is possible with an extremely tight patch. I've never had an issue with crown damage with a pull-through. Obviously, you have to be aware of your technique, and pull straight out the muzzle. I've seen much more muzzle damage resulting from improper rod use. Either method is fine if done properly.

Make up a plastic or brass crown saver similar to what some cleaning rods have.

They don't make an ART barrel in 22. In their testing they proved that they couldn't improve on the 22 cal barrels. They are working on the 25 and maybe the 30 cal. There is more info on AOA BLOG about ART
